Once upon a ComDisc thread, there were a bunch of people who decided to go on an adventure.
One of those people decided to take it into their hands to actually make that happen.
That crazy person was known as Bearstronaut.

The door to the Ultimate Reward was shifting, unstable, much like the session itself. I’m not sure what happened to the people that entered it. The rest of us clambered onto a meteor and journeyed into the Furthest Ring. I think there was some kind of precedent for doing that, some webcomic I never read.
There was a second session at some point. I couldn’t tell you what happened to it, in fact I’m not sure what’s happened to myself. Even with the Harp of my Denizen Parcae, a formidable tool in the hands of any Time player, the timeline is fuzzy. It’s not like a doomed timeline ceasing to exist, it’s somehow more permanent. A sort of metaphysical vitiation beyond even my godly purview.
I wonder what happened to bE, that nice girl I met during the session. Or Yaridovich for that matter, the unhinged Knight of Rage that nearly killed the both of us. The exact details of the Time we spent together have escaped me, and so I am not sure if they ever existed at all. I think there was an omnipotent, malevolent clown at one point? There’s always an omnipotent, malevolent clown.
In the distance I saw a blue light amongst the void. A lone Incipisphere, a beacon of continuity in the unfathomable expanse. After, or perhaps before, an unknowable time had passed, I traveled an immeasurable distance and arrived at the session.
I floated past a version of Derse with an inscrutable amount of prototyping towers. Past the Veil, a Battlefield sporting a single White and Black King, and Prospit there was lone planet.
There was a single person in this session, a Space player named Elon. He welcomed me into his laboratory in the Land of Creation and Frogs, and he shared his research on Skaia and the frog temple with me.
“I have been studying this world for some time now.” Elon said to me. “Based on what has yet to happen, and what has already happened without first being determined… In all likelihood it is some kind of highly-variable simulation.”
“My Earth is under threat of being destroyed by a barrage of asteroids. I need you to put the word out, to link to a communal session of SBURB, or I fear that the rest of humanity in my reality will be killed.”
“Why do you need my help for that?” I asked him.
“Outside of the bounds of this simulation, I am non-essential. My fakeness attribute, then, is reliant on the creators establishing my truth. I can and have reached out to the Earth of my reality, but I cannot reach the next level of existence without your help.”
We decided not to stop there, however. There are an infinite number of potential generated realities, doomed to fail. We altered the code so that the session can support connections from any universe and, hopefully, reconcile any amount of players and Weird Time Shit. This session will be a haven for those with no other recourse, a font of truth for the non-essential.
Seven years ago, there was a thread on the MSPA forums called Forumstuck. There were a few threads actually. The gist of it was "FORUM MEMBERS PLAY SBURB. SHENANIGANS." and there was a single rule, the legendary RULE ONE.
RULE ONE: You are allowed to do ANYTHING, so long as it does not affect another player without their consent.
The session starts with people attempting to complete an entry chain. Once that chain is complete, people who still want to join enter the chain, and do not have to worry about completing a new one. After entry, people just go through the gates, indulge in shenanigans, get to the Battlefield and have fun on the way there. Game ends when we make the new universe.
As per Rule 1, this is pretty freeform. Particularly when you are on your own land and not interacting with other characters, you write whatever you want. You don't need permission to enter the game, complete quests or even to defeat your Denizen.
However, some rules have been provided for those interested in using them. You are allowed to alter these rules to your heart's content, or of course ignore them completely. Some people just like the game element, and in situations such as PvP or group bosses these optional rules may become required.
I'm going to try hosting this on Discord and see how it goes, the rest of the information will be on there. Invite links automatically expire after 24 hours so just message me directly on Discord (arsquid#0729) and I'll send you a fresh one.
