Yes, it'd be turn based, becauuse you just cannot do full-fledged if you're on a play-by-post system. That's not gonna work ever in that kind of situation, although it WILL work if we were in like... IRC. Dice rolling sounds good.

IRC is a chatroom thingy that was popular back in the early internet but is mostly unused right now. A lot of groups still use it every now and then, though some groups have been moving to things like Discord. Yeah, that's the main problem right there :/

Or we could use a Msparp chatroom. That'd work too, would it?

We could, but again, we'd need people.

Before trying to recruit players, we'd need to work on technicalities. To make a fight RP, we need: -Base rules on how fights are determined, what is allowed or not -Something that says who fights who, and if we're going tournament style, something to keep track of victories and losses -Set a dice system (roll damage out of 100 for a 200HP enemy, then roll a 10-die and land on 1 for a critical which doubles your damage, then roll for enemy's defense etc.) -Set up a thread and advertise a little -Bake pie -Probably have some kind of reward. Depends on how far you're willing to go.
Those are ideas, but they're a start.

I mean, in character, you'd just get loadsamoney or what have you, but about anything else, I'm not sure if I could do something about it.

Free art maybe? I personally don't care about rewards OOC, since that's something I might join anyways assuming there's also character interaction involved as well.

Aside from the fights there will be interaction, yes. Don't wanna make it just "o u lose now ur character is GONE FOREVER"

There'd also be out-of-fight interactions, of course. Some kind of café outside the arena for players to meet. Those who lose can stay and watch, or participate in training/friendly fights. And having your OC drawn in a badass pose is always nice.

That's good to know! I might also do a spectator-only OC, along with an OC who will participate in the tourney.
