The secret project could be the homestuck anime some sort of spin off webcomic, maybe?

I would bet that if they're going to announce any new projects, they're going to wait until they coincide with other things, like the epilogue or Hiveswap. It wouldn't surprise me if we actually learned when Hiveswap drops through this channel, too.
I think this might be one of the pieces of the Rapture.

Did anyone else see when Dante said "other stuff we can't talk about," "nepetaquest 2018" and "gamzee fridge adventures" popped up? Haha. Also that Hussie/horse interaction is the kind of content I like to see.
But in all seriousness I'm excited to see what this will turn into! I'm glad they mentioned about opening communication up because we all know we need some more of that after the forum fiasco, lol.

Good to know just about everyone is none the wiser what is going on, other that things continue to happen, and never seem to stop happening.

This seems interesting, from what I've seen.
Sounds like fan animations like RDA might be supported endeavors by this channel, or theory videos, or character-timeline explanation videos...
I'm more interested in these other projects but it's nice that the fandom is getting brought into this together.

I'm not about to discount anything just yet, but they don't seem to have any real plan for the YouTube channel at all, which isn't a good sign. But I'll wait and see what kind of videos they put out.

If they're looking to improve fan relations, is it worth at least asking what happened with the old forums?

You know, I just realized, even if Hiveswap is not happening, next month is 6/12/2(0)16. Is this something they could pass up?

Well, I guess this is more or less the kind of thing I was expecting, but still, is it wrong that I'm not all that enthusiastic about this? I mean, when it comes to things I follow, I like when there's a clear-cut amount of content all available in one place (or at least a small number of well defined places). I guess I have kind of a completionist mindset where when I really like something, I want to go all in and see all of it, and if there's no real boundaries to really declare "all of it," then I can't do that. (This is one of the reasons I stick with the forums rather than getting more involved with other parts of the fandom, such as on tumblr.) In the past Homestuck has been clear cut: We've got the comic itself, Paradox Space, and Hiveswap. While there are certainly large and popular fanworks, they are still separate and not part of the complete Homestuck experience, and thus "optional" in my mindset. But with this it seems like they're trying to turn Homestuck into a sprawling web of a franchise, and, well, I don't really like that. :/

What worries me is that this could mean the epilogue and/or Hiveswap really are a ways off. All this Youtube stuff could be what Hussie's going to use to keep us interested until the last of the content comes out. I thought it wouldn't be that long because it would invite the risk of interest dying out before the epilogue but....

I just wanna know what those unnamed projects are. The "Nepetaquest 2018" and "Gamzee's Fridge Adventure" suggestions in the video made my day. I'd love to see an actual Nepetaquest like in that joke Andrew made so many years ago, hehe. It reminds me of that one Forum Adventure that existed a long time ago.

All this talk of reopening fan communication makes me wonder: does anyone at WP know that this site exists?

If not, bringing these sorta things up to them might be one the of the most valuable parts of the channel if they follow through on it.

Ok yeah it really does not seem what they want to do with the webcomic and are asking the fans to do the work for them. Honestly they should just let HS rest and let Paradox Space do it's job.

I think that they were always planning to have this YouTube channel post news and info on new WP developments, but they also want to hear what the fans want, too. Also, it may be related to this mysterious project they can't talk about yet. I don't think that asking for fan opinions or to have a conversation is a bad idea nor says "we don't know what we're doing."

Wow so depressed? I think they just want to keep up the classic user suggestions for a little while. If only for the nostalgia. Also Dante Mentioned something about a project they can't speak of. So clearly there are buns in the oven already! Additionally making a movie or television show spinoff might be unrealistic or too difficult so they want to find more reasonable goals.

Could be they want something that can help them prove how lucrative a tv show or movie or whatever would be. 'Look at all these people subscribing to our channel and submitting fan stuff! There's totally money in this project!'. That kind of thing.

Hey Guys, I made a thing from the update video. I don't know for sure if this is the right place for it, so please do tell me if it should go somewhere else, and where that somewhere else is, if you know. Now you finally have something for whenever someone mentions Vriska!

I'd very much like Homestuck 2.0 to be a thing, but a part of me can't help but be worried that it'll collapse under its own weight.

I want to stay positive, but peeking at the suggestions under that video gave me an ulcer.
As for the video itself, it was "professional", yet kinda awkward? It felt like they were looking at the camera thinking "help us out here, we're out of material and don't want your interest to drown while you wait for Hiveswap", even though that's probably not true, and they know what they're doing. I myself admittedly wouldn't even have had anything to suggest though, beside "please just give me a satisfying epilogue", and "bring back Paradox Space and hire my ass to draw comic panels please", because I'm just that unimaginative.

I really want the idea of Homestuck 2.0, or some sort of extra franchise-making using the extremely strong IP that MSPA is, to be successful. At least from a marketing standpoint, it's wise to turn it into a sort of brand, as long as everything's still good. However... I just don't have faith in it. Two reasons why:
1) They still haven't given an official statement on the MSPA Forums after two months, despite saying they want to improve communication.
2) They won't allow fan projects to do anything like crowdfunding or any fundraising to be able to actually sustain a fan project. If they want fan content so badly, then they should make sure projects like S RDA don't take four years or projects like Homestrife 4 1/3 have to be cancelled due to lack of time and ability. (Conflict of interest: my own fan project has been going on for over 4 years and the ability to crowdfund would have been awesome)
Maybe they're going more for the Youtube Community News Channel format than anything, but if they actually want any ambitious fan projects to help enhance the brand and/or show off the fandom, they can't treat the fandom exactly as they do now.
