IT'S THE END! At the end of this post, one of Jade or Rose will be crowned champion of MSPA Madness 2017. Unless there's another tie, which there probably isn't because I cut off the voting at 55. I haven't looked, so I don't know who won yet. YAY!
So let's start with the extra voting things, you know, not any placements.
Best Incredibly Brief Victory: Crowbar over Mindfang Best at Defeating Egoistical, Semi-Villainous Characters: John, for beating Lil Cal, Meenah, and Vriska. Most Randomly Randomly Chosen Character: Jake English Where in the Void is: Aradia Megido EN: Please sing this to the Carmen Sandiego theme. PLEASE. Best Fortuna Character: Caliborn (TECHNICALLY YOU CAN NAME RODNEY CALIBORN. THIS WORKS KIEROS) EN: This is all of what Gime sent me. Or at least I think it's Gime. Who else loves Caliborn and works on Fortuna?
And finally, my choice for best of the random awards: MOST PATHETIC VICTORY:
Oh well, at least we didn't have to wait 10 months to hear the results this time. And, it looks like it was pretty close. 55 voters and those percentages means that it was 29 votes for Jade and 26 for Rose. If two people had voted differently then Rose would have won.
Most Surprising Upset: Really? I mean it was surprising, but I was more surprised at Meulin beating Doc Scratch, Porrim beating Crowbar, and Jude beating Caliborn.
Hardest Match to choose between: ...Neither of those I found hard, though Rose -vs- Terezi was somewhat close. For the other, well, Calliope's more of a "meh" character to me, certainly not on the same level as Roxy. The hardest for me was Kanaya -vs- Terezi.
Biggest Underperformer: Yep, that's what I put. Seemed like the obvious choice.
Biggest Overperformer: Really? Rose? She's always seemed like a popular character to me and has gotten pretty far in past contests too. I voted Porrim.
Best Character Left Out: Yeah, that one was my choice too, and pretty obvious. I really am surprised she place so low.
Character Most Screwed Over by Bracket: Well, that's not too surprising, there really wasn't a clear winner here. For the record, I voted Swifer.
Random Awards: Nice, my one about defeating egoistical, semi-villainous characters made it in! I just wish I could have come up with better wording for that one; it's a bit of a mouthful of an award.
...I don't get Aradia and Caliborn's awards, though.
On a side note, I really need to get caught back up with Fortuna; I stopped reading after the forums died...
As for Most Pathetic Victory ... I honestly had expected Damara to win that one, so Eridan actually surpassed my expectations! Not a pathetic victory in my mind at all.
