First of all, I hope its ok to have this thread be in this board, I mean i could put all the content in fanventure discussion or adventure critique, but i feel like making it its own thread is a better idea. So, since the opening of the new MSPFA site, I have made it my mission to read every adventure on the site, in order, and give a shilling to the ones i think are good. Well, thats a slight lie, I won't read ones without pictures or in another language, but apart from that, all of them. I've been posting these on the subreddit for the last couple of weeks, and I've decided to post them here too, over the next few days. They come in sets of 8, and I also have a "Notable Mentions" section for ones that arent that good, but have something maybe worth looking at. ANYWAY, I hope this gets more people to look at obscure adventures. 1 to 8 (below) 9 to 1617 to 2425 to 3233 to 4041 to 4849 to 5657 to 6465 to 7273 to 8081 to 8889 to 9697 to 104 (plus some things)105 to 112113 to 120121 to 128129 to 136137 to 144145 to 152153 to 160161 to 168169 to 176177 to 184185 to 192193 to 200 (plus some things)201 to 208mspfanventures.com/?s=1 Roomland: You start off in a room. It is your aim to get out. Along the way, you warp into a painting, get sieged by bears, discover that ants work for Satan, and do some puzzle shit. You also make a friend, who discovers his people are under tyrannical rule, and manages to set them free, with a legendary sword, a robot, and an ant. But maybe they can make peace... I really like this adventure, it uses its art very creatively in the painting segments. Both the images and humor are at least a 8.8/10 for me, I laughed at pretty much every joke. All the gifs are very nice and fluid. Unfortunate, the S pages were uploaded to www.shakytable.com which no longer hosts anything, so they're lost forever. Except for this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=q86qplW9ecE. Still definetely worth reading. mspfanventures.com/?s=4 Afterlife: You are dead. Unfortunately, you don't have any money to pay the ferryman with! Looks like your going to have to search a bit to find any. But as you continue exploring, you come across your own corpse... multiple times. Just how many times have you died? Will you ever get out? At the start of this one, it didn't seem all that good. But when it started focusing on the plot, it became much more interesting. The author puts a good deal of detail into the later pics, and it just feels like it has a big picture, even when a bunch of puzzle-like shit is happening. The gifs are also quite good. mspfanventures.com/?s=5 PXL: You are a dot. In a world made of other dots. You can buy weapons, perform quests, complete puzzles, do the worm, learn magic, play with the forces of nature, and generally dick around. You need more than a single pixel to do much though, so you'll have to find ways to grow in this world of yours... Everything in this adventure is literally just coloured squares. Despite that, it still manages to convey humor and character vey well. It definetly feels like some sort of RPGworld, with a bunch of interesting mechanics, and i honestly had fun "playing" it. Actually, it reminds me a lot of ShellCore Command. Now, no doubt you'll notice a lot of the pictures are missing. Luckily though, i actually managed to get in touch with the author, and they still had almost all the image files, so you can still read the comic in full. drive.google.com/open?id=0B9K0DD73-20uZDE0WURwaWhjQWsmspfanventures.com/?s=6 Corgi Adventure: You are an adorable corgi and you love your owner very much! One problem, though; you died. You still want to help him though. But there's something wrong. Your owner is afflicted by...something, and you will do your best to get rid of it. The first 20 pages of this adventure are sort of weird. Get past them though, and it becomes much better. The art is quite good, changing styles depending on the setting and generally helping the immersion a lot. And the ending... ;-; I honestly felt like crying. Its very good emotionally. mspfanventures.com/?s=7 EXE: You wake up in a room, with no memory of who you are, but superhuman agility and strength. Put through various challenges, you meet other people like you, and as you continue your escape, you discover that your existence and powers are much more important than you first thought, and could change the history of the world forever... You know stick-figure fight animations? That's pretty much this adventure's art style. Just about every fourth page is a cool-looking gif. There is some very nice worldbuilding too, i feel like you really get a sense of importance. Now, if you read through it, you'll notice a bunch of animations and gifs are missing. As it happens though, the author is same as the guy who did PXL, so he provided me with the images to this one too. drive.google.com/open?id=0B9K0DD73-20uR0xCWV9sVE5jTk0

mspfanventures.com/?s=13 MIDNIGHT CREW - EXTRA PAGES: The Midnight Crew makes their first appearance, engaged in a deadly battle of wits and sharp things with PS, AD, and IP. Meanwhile, Professor Wasp begins a cross-canonical spree of destruction, or at least distraction. This adventure was actually written by Hussie as a donation thing, so it has all the common trappings of his stuff. Weird vocabulary, silly gifs, enjoyable characters, cool art, so yeah. Its pretty good. mspfanventures.com/?s=16 the big man...HASS the MSPFA: the adventure of HASS THE ROCK: you are in bed and the awesome world season champion halftime game starts in ONE HOUR AND TWO HALFS. What you do? The very first SBaHJ adventure on the site, and honestly, it nails it. I feel like it really hits the spot of being so low quality its hilarious. Not only using the same image over and over, but rotating it, is such a good trick to use. Sweet and short. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=9 ~marked~: Has very nice art, the level of detail is honestly really impressive, but not much else to it. mspfanventures.com/?s=11 The Box: Not a bad story, has some funny pages and cool concepts, but is just to short to get into. If there were more of it, i feel like i'd definetely give it a proper recommendation. mspfanventures.com/?s=15: Pivot Stick Adventure: All pages in this comic are made in pivot. It's pretty commendable it looks as good as it does.

mspfanventures.com/?s=19 Flatland: You are a guy. There is a pumpkin. You want it. Unfortunately, there are some things in the way. Luckily, you can invert the world, and move through negative space to get past obstacles. Your feelings also manifest as real things, so thats another tool to help you solve puzzles. There are some quite cool mechanics in this one, it is a very classic example of the "video game" feel that many adventures emulate. (Wasn't there a browser game with the "invert negative space" gimmick?) The rune/glyph mechanic was quite interesting, unfortunately, we never really get to see how they work, as the comic really is quite short, and it feels short too. Still good though. mspfanventures.com/?s=22 Ultradude W: You are ULTRADUDE W revelick chaser, super inteligent death machine. You can jump and climb, so op. You must save the world from DR BILLY and his 8 ROBOT LORDS. Along the way, you will gain several new abilities, but will that be enough to get past all the trials and defeat BFF?(Billy's Final Form) This an enjoyable adventure, as far as translating actual video games into the MSPFA format goes, i think this one is quite good. Although the artstyle is quite simplistic, the gifs later on still manage to be quite fluid, and it looks cool, which is probably the most important thing when translating video games. mspfanventures.com/?s=24 Leak: You are a newly-born Stonekin, a little elemental born of earth and rock. You grow by consuming other minerals, gaining limbs and other abilities. There is a whole new world for you to discover and explore, and even if some things will try to kill you, that just adds to the excitement! So what are you waiting for? Cute art, cute main character, the designs in general are nice. Also has good worldbuilding. The "evolve" mechanic is cool. Just very nice in general, and the plot is pretty interesting. Unfortunately, it ends before it really gets into anything. But i can definetely say, i wish it continued. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=18 Final Fantasy: the Sprites Within: This is pretty much 8 bit theater, except the art and dialogue are slightly worse. Still though, its got some pretty good jokes and humor in it. Also, i should have said this before, but if you have any suggestions for the format, or things you want me to keep track of while i read please say so.

mspfanventures.com/?s=28 Sharpietime: You are an angry lizard, gr! You want to feel the fragile flesh of prey ear under your claws, and the wild beating of your heart as you hunt. But, instead, you're stuck in a cage. And your breakfast sucks. This won't do at all. I quite like the artstyle of this one, its very neat. The lizard's character is also pretty funny, and their way of writing narration is both easy on the eyes and humourous. Unfortunately, it ends before it really gets into any plot, so the art and humor are really the only reasons to read it. But they're pretty good reasons. mspfanventures.com/?s=30 Tic-Tac-Toe: War! No matter where you go, you can always find conflict. In this case you alternately the Xs and the Os. But this is no ordinary game of three-in-a-row, for in this battle, there are no rules, only cunning. And lollipops. This is one of the best kinds of adventures for both the author and the reader. Simple art style, easily command driven, easy to subvert expectations, easy to make colourful jokes. It feels longer than it is, just really enjoyable overall. I wish someone would reboot it. Notable mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=31: MANLY MAN ADVENTURE GRRR: This adventure isnt really good, but it has some really funny lines in it. I contacted the author and got the pictures for it. drive.google.com/open?id=0B20-H5QYlqc-VS12SlJPeWpXMDgIf you have any suggestions for the format or things you want me to keep track of, please say so.

mspfanventures.com/?s=35&p=1 BoardBound Adventure: You are Jack Norman, a completely normal person.. until the day you are called upon by a voice to save the world. Venturing out of your home, you quickly discover that you have the power to control cardboard! You then proceed to dick around with this ability and get into religious fights rather than do anything productive. This one isn't too good, and the art is pretty standard, but its still nice to read, with pretty good characters, and good callback jokes. The plot is interesting enough as well. I quite liked the creature designs. Pretty standard good adventure. mspfanventures.com/?s=37&p=1 1984 Quest: You are Winston Smith, and you lead an ordinary, desolate life as an outer party member, revising history at the ministry of truth. But something seems a bit off; your revisions seem to literally rewrite reality, rather than figuratively. And you may have accidentaly created a few problems... This is a classic adventure, that accepts all commands, and just gets crazier and sillier as it went on. And i think it pulls it off quite well. The humor doesn't feel like it gets old, and they manage to pull an interesting plot out of it. The art style is also both rough and detailed, which is cool. The ending felt kinda fast, but it still works i feel, so thats good. mspfanventures.com/?s=40&p=1 Sentry Worm: You are a sentry worm. It is a warm and pleasant day, and you appear to have been severed from whatever fruit you came from, though you can't remember why or how. But nevermind that, you've got some puzzles to do and new fruits to find! This one has nicely colourful art and some pretty neat gifs, but i kind of feel like the thing i like most about it are the characters and dialogue. They just sorta work well. Unfortunately, the last 50 pages are missing their pictures, but its still good. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=33&p=1 At the end of the tunnel...: Same author as manly man adventure, same deal, not very high quality, but quite easy to get some enjoyment out of it. Pictures are here drive.google.com/open?id=0B20-H5QYlqc-YkJYY1FwbGx2Qncmspfanventures.com/?s=34&p=1 CHECKMATE: Dark Version: Very first tie-in adventure, along with number 28, and even Corgi Quest. I think its pretty cool when adventures reference other adventures. If you have any suggestions for the format or things you want me to keep track of, please say so.

mspfanventures.com/?s=41&p=1 Focus Group: You have been selected to take part of a special audience-feedback assembly known as “Focus Group”. Various programs will be shown before you, and depending on how you feel about ongoing events, you can express your opinions through use of a switch, which will change the program. Please mind the other viewers, and do not attempt to escape your restraints. I imagine this adventure would have been much more enjoyable if you had actually been there during the updates, but it’s still pretty fun to go through. It’s gets quite silly, and it manages to make each new bit funny, with good randomness. It’s short, and the ending is a good cap-off. mspfanventures.com/?s=43&p=1 Waterworks: You are a concerned citizen, who recently has gotten fed up with the lack of water in your house, and have decided to head down to your local waterworks to see whats up. Unfortunately, it seems that a gang of thugs have taken over the facilities, tieing up the workers and stealing the water for...some reason. Armed with your trusty mace though, you aren’t leaving until you get what you came for. This is probably the best adventure I’ve read so far, the description doesn’t do it justice. The art is very good, I think every page is made in Flash, and there are a great deal of amazing gifs and animations. The author has a very good grasp of visual humor, and there is some cool world-building, but i think the part i like most is the character-building. Each character has a great deal of details about them that slowly get revealed as it goes on, and they feel very fleshed out. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=45&p=1 Housetrapped: The very first Sburbventure on the site. This is where the trend began. Unfortunately, almost all of its pictures are missing, which is quite disappointing, since the few that remain seem pretty good. I even heard somewhere that Another Jungle was originally made for this adventure, though i don’t know if that’s true.

mspfanventures.com/?s=49&p=1 The Shrink: You are Steve Glam, a self-employed psychiatrist. After waking in cave with a spite of amnesia, you attempt to leave, only to find your way blocked by giant mice. And that’s only the start of your problems. You attempt to keep your rationality as you grapple with the odd happenings, but it’s a question whether you’ll even make it out alive, much less sane. This is a very simple adventure. Simple, yet neat art. Simple jokes and humor, very little ironic stuff. Simple character and motivations. The narration is very good, and feels personal to the character. Simple good adventure. mspfanventures.com/?s=51&p=1 Crystal Rave: You are Crystal Raver, a young boy with the power to control the element of carbon. With your drill-whip in hand, all shall fear you!...Actually, for that matter, who are you? Where are you? You have been given a mission, but as you visit these strange worlds to carry it out, the explanation you were given makes less and less sense. Is this even meant to be happening at all?... This one has really colourful and organic art, with each panel being individually drawn, I don’t think any sprites were used. Now, while this adventure may seem short, the author actually wrote much more on their own site www.dexworks.net/?page_id=233 and even a sequel www.dexworks.net/?webcomic_post=i, and together these stories form quite a complex narrative, with a great deal of worldbuilding. Actually, if anything, there’s too much worldbuilding, as a lot of the concepts and things introduced, cool though they are, never end up getting explained. The art only gets better though, so that alone is a fine reason to read it. mspfanventures.com/?s=54&p=1 Sminly: You are Sminly, a small orange blob creature, who sees the world in rainbows. Or rather, colours, one at a time. Each colour has its own purpose and function, and it is up to you and the otherworldly voices guiding you to make the best use of your abilities in various activities from forming a relationship, to escaping a cage. This is definitely the best adventure I’ve read in terms of mechanics, it’s really quite novel. Not only the mechanic described above, but two others were introduced, and they all bring the interactivity of adventures to a level I haven’t seen before. What other adventure involves the reader drawing commands? It also has a really neat (S) page near the end, and the art overall is very cute, with good facial expressions. Notable mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=50&p=1 The Monster at the End of this Book: A classic tale, this time with a different ending.

mspfanventures.com/?s=60&p=1 Imagitek: You are a 12th level Figmentmancer. With your slew of powerful Imagiteks, you are able to turn almost anything you can imagine into reality, whether it be robots, weapons, disco balls or sand. Lots and lots of sand. Unfortunately, you have been trapped in some Tower of Complete Magical Bullshit, and will have to use your imagiteks wisely if you wish to surpass the many puzzles in front of you. Or you could, just brute force through them, I guess. This one is a classic “puzzle shit” one. That is its basic structure, but the whole “imagitek” thing makes it much more interesting to go through then otherwise would be, since the main character has a ton of options at their disposal. The art is loose, but at the same time neat, and the gifs are smooth as well. Although it didn’t complete, It’s still long enough to get into, I feel. mspfanventures.com/?s=63&p=1 Take my life in a completely different direction: You are Michael Bowman, professional music artist and all-around amazing person. Recently, you’ve felt a sudden impulse to try and take your life in a completely different direction. Cooking meals, lucid dreams, awakening people to their sexuality, these are all options available to you. So what do you do? This was the first photoventure, where it was made by actually taking photos and then editing them. Novelty aside, it’s also quite good. Bowman is just, always good at being a meme, he’s just really funny. The characters have great faces and poses, which is definitely one of the advantages of being a photoventure, that it's very easy to just make a facial expression. Now, a bunch of the pics at the end are missing, but MrCheeze mirrored all the pictures in another location, which is here mspfanventures.com/?s=14230&p=1. So that’s good. mspfanventures.com/?s=64&p=1 The Rose Ring: You are Dog, one of the many officers of the King’s Men, though some simply call you crownies. Some strange cases have been divvied up amongst you and your colleagues, and you’ve been stuck with the death of Jack and the apparent assault of Jill. The culprit has left a strange rose symbol on each of their victims, but you haven’t been able to pin anything down yet. You have a feeling it’s going to be a long day. This one quite reminds me of the movie “Hoodwinked”, and i honestly think it’s really great. The art style is rough, but distinctive, in a way that feels pretty cool to me. I enjoyed reading the narration, it’s quite well-written i feel, and fits the scenario too. I also like the characters. Though it’s short, it gets quite a decent amount of plot done, and that plot is quite interesting. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=57&p=1 CLOWN BYRON: ADVENTURES IN QUANTUM PUNS AND VOREPHILIA: I’m not sure about this one; I think it has good irony, but i’m not certain. It’s like it both is and isn’t ironic, until observed closely, at which point it resolves into one of the two states. mspfanventures.com/?s=62&p=1 Eingana: This one has a nice fairy-tale feel to it, in both art and plot, and the basic idea is good too. It’s quite short though, but it was only just on this side of not getting a proper shill.

mspfanventures.com/?s=68&p=1 Generic Orange Dinosaur: You are an orange dinosaur from the late Metacarcacious period, and you’re pretty prestigious, you don’t mind saying. You were just doing your own thing, when all of a sudden a Megapigosaur appeared out of thin air and turned your world upside-down! You must get the wizard’s help! Well, actually, it didn’t do that much. But hey, you have to do a bunch of random sidequests if you wanna complete this stupid game. This one is a pretty standard good adventure, pretty lengthy too. Though it isn’t too good at first, the humor quickly settles into being pretty funny, with decent jokes every few pages. The plot, as far very suggestion-based adventures go, is actually quite interesting, and the author does a good job of having the RPG mechanics not get repeditive and not taking them too seriously. The art is also quite good, though the backgrounds aren’t always completely coloured. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=70&p=1 Chirydae: This story’s kinda weird and doesn’t make much sense, but the climax at the end is actually pretty cool, with some cool gifs too, and the basic idea is fine. It just has a weird execution. mspfanventures.com/?s=72&p=1 Don’t Ask; Do: This was one of those adventures where each page was made by a different author. It’s a pretty interesting style, and the ramshackle story that gets put together is mildly interesting as well, with some good humor.

mspfanventures.com/?s=73&p=1 Warzone: You are a veteran soldier, and have been making your way on battlefields for… well, a long time. A recent head injury, however, has given you a case of amnesia, as well as the chance of death hanging over your head at all times, which totally sucks. In fact, it sucks so much you’ve made it your mission, to find whoever shot you, and kill them. But really, there’s more stuff you can do in a battleground than you might have thought, what with passcodes and deliveries and stores and such. So what do you do? I quite like the art of this one, its one of those simple detail/good quality ones. I also like the character design. The main thing thing this adventure does, though is combat, and it does it greatly. While the mechanics aren’t that special, each action has cool art, and they aren’t repeated either. Though most of this doesn’t totally apply to the start, by the end its really cool. The deeper plot, once it begins getting into it, is also quite interesting, and even before that point, it’s easy to get into. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=79&p=1 Meteos: I really didn’t expect there to be an adventure based on this game (which i have), but its quite good, with a good plot, good art, good worldbuilding, I really did enjoy this one. It just, never got to the main part of playing Meteos.

mspfanventures.com/?s=84&p=1 Escutcheon.exe: You are Chip McFloatinator, a young boy of the McFloatinator family... you think. You can't really remember much. You appear to be trapped in a room with a duct tape door, and the only tool you have at your disposal is a computer program called "Escutcheon". It can create objects you draw out of thin air, which is pretty neat, but that doesn't really tell you anything about where you are. Luckily, you've got someone more capable to help you out. A classic "ontological mystery", this one. And it's a pretty good one. The art is of regular quality, but I think it did good work doing that mixture of puzzle and plot that ontological mysteries provide. The mechanic it picked was a good one, with lots of potential, and it also does a good job of putting in new characters early, I feel. mspfanventures.com/?s=85&p=1 Buff McFlintflank and the Helpful Rocks: You are Ernest Lee, a children's author. Recently, the world was almost destroyed by an alien race, but was somehow spared, and even duplicated. Now, though, the two Earths are on a collision course, and as an ambassador of your Earth, you must convince the alien to destroy the other one. You don't even know their motives, or their capabilities, and you're just some stupid writer! Your shoulders are no place for the weight of the world to be. All pictures before page 49 are missing, but thats ok, because this adventure has a much more book-like narration than your average adventure. The art is mediocre most of the time, though there a few pages with weirdly high-detail pictures, but the main thing I enjoyed were the plot and writing. A few bits of it feel to me that they could be staight from a hard science-fiction story, and it also made good use of having supplementary adventures as well. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=82&p=1 Welcome to the Universe: I really like this one, its got great worldbuilding, great concepts, a plot that ramps up quickly without feelin like it goes too fast, this is just a really splendid adventure... that cuts off at 29 pages. Still good though. mspfanventures.com/?s=87&p=1 Chess: The MSPA Edition: Chess variants are always a good bit of fun to play and watch, with lots of pieces with interesting moves. Though the pictures are gone, I contacted the author for them (it's in the "history" folder) www.dropbox.com/s/r5aa1viy7mo45eb/ctmspae.tar.gz?dl=0

mspfanventures.com/?s=89&p=1 #XF3974: You are subject #XF3974, one of the many results of the Transmutation project. You have the ability to absorb specific kinds of energy into you body, and then reconstitute it as body mass, and as an XF, your intelligence, speed and strength are well-rounded. Normally, all experiments eventually end in termination, but you just started existing; you don't feel like dieing quite yet. By teaming up with other subjects, maybe you can escape... This one was a pretty standard good adventure, i feel. The chosen mechanic was a good one, and reminded me a lot of Spore as i read through, I enjoyed seeing each upgrade.. The art was mildly detailed, though they did reuse assets a lot, and they did a good job of spicing up an otherwise quite simple plot. The pictures are almost all gone, but I contacted the author, and they can be found here (its in the "XF" folder) drive.google.com/file/d/0B5dMK1ikqVAdMDA1UmF4UFYwQW8/view?usp=sharing. mspfanventures.com/?s=91&p=1 Breakin: You are Backpacker, your speciality is storing things in your backpack and then hitting people with it, and you are one of the many operatives of the TEAM. Your latest objective is to break into/loot the FACILITY. Its a pretty weird place, what with the robots, puzzles, and landsharks, but you and your friends have your own fair share of nifty tricks as well. Nothing, not even your own infighting, or a team with a more selfless purpose than yours, will stop you from obtaining some sweet loot. This is a photoventure that uses Lego, which is quite a versatile tool for conveying all kinds of action and character if the author knows how, and i would say they did. It has a bit of a slow start, but once it settled into its flow i thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it very evocative of the Intermission, as well as Problem Sleuth. Like them, it has a very simple and rudimentary plot, and like them, it doesn't need one more complex. The character interactions are what make up the majority of its value, I liked them. Notable Mentions:mspfanventures.com/?s=90&p=1 Toaster: This one is simple and nice, it makes being a toaster an enjoyable experience. mspfanventures.com/?s=92&p=1 DOUGLAS DUCKFACE: This one isn't half-bad, it just doesn't get very far. It has some neat stuff, like constantly spinning a basketball on a fingertip in every panel. I liked that.

Phew, first 100 done! Only took a few weeks. So, does anyobody have any thoughts on this thing so far? Are my shillings long or short? I gotta say, there are a lot of cool adventures in these archives, I will post a list of my top 10 for this 100 on the bottom of this page. Another thing, for all the pictureless adventures I have obtained the images for, I have posted a link to the images in the comments, so if you ever come across an old broken adventure, try checking the comments. Anyway, onto some shillings. mspfanventures.com/?s=97&p=1 HELLA JEFF'S SWEET BROVENTURE: you are HELLA JEFF....... you are in a empty room. Where is youre bro??? Bros arnt meant to never split up. and Geromy's gone too!! You must go on a EPIC QUEST to find them, there wil be meny stairs in the way but you are prepareaed. you will also make it sure to find the treasures along the way like NACHOS. You will go to many places for This will be... an ADVENTURE!!! This is not a perfect SbaHJ adventure, but it still definetely hits the sweet spot several times over. There are a lot of good jokes and stupid stuff, and the prominent use of photoshop always helps that. I liked the sense of space it gave, where there are many areas to go to and many ways between them. mspfanventures.com/?s=99&p=1 A Complete Waste of Time: Alternia has been fated to play a special game, like all imperfect civilisations must... META. An MMO of grand proportions, it started off more or less like a round of LARPing, a few murders here or there, nothing serious. But one of the players cheating has messed a few things up; namely, the King and Queen are already awake, ages before the final boss. And what a story they have to tell... So, firstly, this is not a Sburbventure, the objectives are different, the mechanics are different, the settings are different, it is different enough that any similarities work in its favour rather than against it, I feel. Secondly, this adventure has a really good plot, with some good double-reacharounds, I found it very enthralling, and though it cuts off, I feel like it got about 4/5 of the way through, so its not like you get no sense of completion. The art is great, with prestigeous use of Hero Mode. It does have a bit of trouble distinguishing its characters, but considering there are 16, the amount of distinguishment it does have is quite high. The writing is really good too. mspfanventures.com/?s=104&p=1 The Further Pointless Adventures of Nopor Puss!: You are Nopor Puss, and pointlessness is your speciality. Everything you do has literally no reason to it, no logical motives, no favourable outcomes. Or at least, that's what you try to make sure of. Unfortunately, sometimes your decision-making process gets the better of you, and you Point meter increases. You sure hope it doesn't reach 100... This one is a good shitpost adventure. The art style is 8-bit-RPGesque, which is fine. The narration is good at making fun out of all the pointless actions, and I found it very funny when all the reasoning of what is pointless and what is not started stacking up. All the pictures are gone, but I contacted the author so here they are drive.google.com/file/d/0BwznxW21yXDLZ0hyM29GNk02S1k/view?usp=sharingMy Top 10 for first 100: 10 1984 Quest 9 Generic Orange Dinosaur 8 Sminly 7 Crystal Rave* 6 Breakin 5 PXL* 4 Corgi Adventure 3 Roomland 2 A Complete Waste of Time 1 Waterworks

mspfanventures.com/?s=105&p=1 You Are About 10 Seconds Away From Execution By Firing Squad: After working undercover to bring down a tyrannical dictatorship, you have finally been captured and sentenced to death. There is no hope of survival... or is there? You can always reload from your last save if you die, so it is up to you to find the correct timeline of actions that will let you complete your objective. I assume the author did not have much in the way of a plot other than a simple premise when they started, which makes it quite impressive that it managed to combine various gags and concepts into an actual story that not only makes sense, but is also interesting. The art is sort of poor, but the humor is good, and i really do like the way it snowballs its plot. mspfanventures.com/?s=107&p=1 Evil Lawyer!: You are an evil lawyer. No matter the truth of the matter, you always try to make sure the accused get the opposite of what they deserve. You can try spinning a story around a piece of evidence, or trick the defendant into saying something incriminating. Be careful though, the judge will penalize you if your reasoning doesn't hold up to the eyes of the court. This one has very okay art, which it repeats a lot, but that's not the point of it. The main reason i enjoyed it was because of the humor, which while starting a bit slow, quickly ramps up as all the various statements and proofs already made have to be taken into account when doing another proof, which resulted in hilariously elaborate scenarios, i thought. mspfanventures.com/?s=112&p=1 Adventure in Paint: You are a developing artist. MS Paint is your tool of choice, and your creative skills know no limit. Unfortunately, the products of your imagination can sometimes prove to be a bit troublesome. Good thing you can visit their plane of existence to give them a proper punishment...Except, you normally can't. Who created this portal, if you didn't? What do they want? This adventure has simple art, but it is pretty high quality, especially later on. I feel like the author is just very good at conveying things that happen with their art, that's the main reason i enjoyed this. The plot is mostly just along for the ride, and is more a sort of vessel for the various things that happen. It has a good deal of good humor, with many different kinds of jokes. Notable Mentions:mspfanventures.com/?s=109&p=1 Autumn 2009 MSPAFA Awards: Reading this makes me feel nostalgic, and I wasn't even there. It's really quite sad how much was lost with the forums, I've read literally every adventure up to this point and I still only recognise, like, half the stories referenced.

Unfortunately, none of the adventures in this 8 were shillworthy in my opinion. The difference between shilling and mentioning isn't simply quality. I haven't really come up with a specific way of categorizing, but i think that in order for me to shill it, it needs to have a story that you can get into. An adventure that gets a mention is something I'd still recommend, but for reasons other than "it's a good story". I probably would have given the "big man... HASS the MSPFA" a mention looking back on it, for this reason. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=114&p=1 Defenestration: This just a really nice little piece about a man who has trouble moving normally. Something about just feels really... arty, idk. mspfanventures.com/?s=118&p=1 Protagonist: This is an ontological mystery, that has some actually pretty good writing and humor, but for the most part is really bland. Like, sburbventure snowclone bland. It's not even that short. I find it conceptually interesting to see a snowclone that isn't mspa-based.

mspfanventures.com/?s=127&p=1 Daughter: You are the king of some u nspecified place, and today is your daughter's 17th birthday! You even got her a new crown. But, despite your best efforts, she doesn't seem to be enjoying herself, and it doesn't help that she was just captured by a football wizard. Now you must go on a perilous quest to save her, and hopefully salvage what's left of this failure of a birthday. This adventure is good and funny, with bits of humor pretty much every page. Interestingly, with the exception of the page commands and a few spots of in-panel text, this adventure has zero words. This means that all interactions have to be shown through body language and pictures, which is done quite well. The art is good, with a great range of character designs. The ending is really nice too, and doesn't leave you wanting more. mspfanventures.com/?s=128&p=1 Subject 31: You are Lumio, the creation of a series of experiments at Bottom Line Industries. Though you have not had much time to live, you have always wanted to see the glorious realm of your creators beyond your aperture. And today, that will finally happen. But... something has gone wrong. The facility seems empty, and there is some weird red sticky stuff all over the place. What happened? The art of this one is kind of poor, but the main characters are still cute and expressive. The main reason I like it is because of the characters, who i felt quite empathetic for, the story does a good job of getting to know them, i feel. The plot is also quite interesting, and the writing is pretty good too. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=121&p=1 Homestuck: Umpteenth: This is a typical really bad sburbventure. But, there are certain ways in which its bad, like blatant sprite reuse, putting layers in the wrong order, and actually drawing and cutting out some things rather than using an art program, that give it good ironic value, I feel. If the whole thing was actually sincere, then that just adds a whole nother layer of irony.

mspfanventures.com/?s=130&p=1 Subject 0012: You are Subject 12. You have been locked in a cell for 3 days, and you can't remember what happened before that. You can't remember a lot of things, but you're pretty sure you didn't always have four fingers. Or grey skin. Or an inability to talk. Today though, you will escape, with the help of one of your co-subjects. But they don't seem all that right in the head... This one has quite a nice art style, with a "sketchy" sort of feel to it. There isn't really any humor, but it piqued my interest quite early in, and the plot as a whole is rather interesting and fast-paced. The narration of how the characters feel is nicely descriptive, and i feel like the characterisation as a whole is good. mspfanventures.com/?s=132&p=1 A Beginner's Guide to the End of the Universe: You are the Everyman, a nondescript individual who's job it is to watch paint. Unfortunately, the entirety of reality seems to have disappeared, with the exception of you and several structures. Fortunately, your creative vision is so powerful it can create things out of nothing but inspiration. With this power, you must find out what happened to the rest of the universe... This adventure use a distinctive monochromatic photoshop artstyle, which gives a good sense of space and location. The story can be split into 2 halves, and the first half is a classic ontological mystery, but with quite creative mechanics. I think the most commendable part of the adventure, is that almost no concept or idea introduced is forgotten, they all get moments of importance. The plot is good, and the second half does a great job of worldbuilding. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=129&p=1 Overdue: A simple but interesting idea, and really nice art to boot. mspfanventures.com/?s=131&p=1 Soldier R7-2419: Though short, this one puts in a good deal of funny and good characterisation, and an interesting plot. I think it was meant to tie in with Subject 0012. mspfanventures.com/?s=133&p=1 The Firebird and the Three Princes: This one has good characters, who's interactions provide a good amount of humor.

So, out of these 8, only 3 worked, and 2 of that 3 were less than 20 pages long. I normally go through the wayback machine to try to recover broken pictures, but its really time consuming to go through each page, pressing ctrl-r because the Next button doesn't load the page for some reason, downloading the picture, reuploading to imgur, then fixing each of the individual links. And the wayback is usually still missing a quarter of the pictures anyway. Someone please do this for me.mspfanventures.com/?s=144&p=1 Droll in the Courtyard: You are COURTYARD DROLL and you are an agent of Derse. You are always bursting with well-meaning and positivity and even though you can be a bit absent-minded at times you have managed to remember that to day is your best friend, Hegemonic Brute,'s birthday. With your colourful outfit and stylish hat, nothing will stop you from getting him the perfect present. This is a good canon-characters adventure. I feel like they get the personalities right, which is probably the most important thing for this type of 'venture. Due to the main character, its really quite funny, and although the art has a few sore points, its mostly good.

mspfa.com/?s=146&p=1 A Flapper's Train Ride: You are Winnifred. It's your job to obtain some special goods for your gang. Unfortunately, a rival mobster made off with it first, and in the course of chasing after him and what follows, you meet with old friends, fight the forces of elemental evil, and generally get roped into saving the world. This one has good art. I quite liked the noiry feel, like, the gangs and stuff. Though the plot changed from that pretty early on, it still retained some of the atmosphere, mostly because of the writing, which is really quite good. I also enjoyed the characters, who had a good deal of depth. mspfa.com/?s=150&p=1 I AM TRIANGLES: You are Triangles, a small green entity with the power to store and then create objects with your memory. You have woken up in a facility with no memories of your past, and while exploring, encountered another entity who asked you to track down a being named Circles. Though at first you agreed, after meeting others and seeing some clues as to this facility's past, you're starting to think that this might be much, much more important than it seems... This is a splendid adventure, with definitely some of the best characterization I've seen so far. The art style is very authentically video game-like with a lot of touches, though it also switches to a close up organic style from time to time. The plot is enthralling and becomes interesting very quickly. The mechanics are great, and some really cool stuff happens through them. It also contains some really rather profound bits on life and existence. Notable Mentions: mspfa.com/?s=149&p=1 Time Flub: A simple Groundhog-Day story, mildly interesting. The ending makes me wonder if it ever got resolved in another adventure. mspfa.com/?s=152&p=1 Karkat's Bullshit Adventure: This pretty much a fanfic of standard quality but with pictures. So that makes it better than standard quality.

mspfanventures.com/?s=153&p=1 GODQUEST: In the great wide cosmos, it is usual for planets to have an intelligent race and a couple of gods... but Rixile has ten gods and ten races, each related to an element. These gods take quite an active role in their people's lives, and make many alliances as they attempt to usurp and prank eachother. Sometimes though, the common threat of demonkind can get them to put their differences behind. This adventure has great art, especially the character design, which has a lot of variety and detail. It is nice and long, with a great deal of worldbuilding, and the characters are quite interesting. The plot is mostly powered by the interactions of various characters, with a lot of perspective changes. The end comes at the end of a plot arc, so it doesn't feel incomplete. Notable Mentions: mspfanventures.com/?s=159&p=1 RealityStuck: This is photo-sburbventure. That is to say, a sburbventure made by taking real life photos. It is the only adventure to have made me cringe so far. It also has the longest dialogues I have ever read.

mspfa.com/?s=161&p=1 Homestesque: You and your friends have recently come into possession of the game SQUEST, an RPG which promises to be like no other. Your group always like a good bit of roleplaying, so you figured it would be right up your alley, but one of your members was taken from you and turned into a "damsel in distress". Cliche as it is, you must explore he land, conquer dungeons, and hopefully rescue them. This is another one of those not-actually-sburbventures. Specifically, it focuses much more on the MMORPG elements, like dicerolling and interacting with other groups. The art is great, with several cool (S) pages, but mostly i enjoyed it because it had really nice humor, i feel. It was just very funny. The characters are good too. mspfa.com/?s=164&p=1 Coreblight: You are an amateur Box Smith, working a decent job at Moving Crates assoc. Today you have been given the job of delivering an odd purple box, but unfortunately its contents have had a bit of a mind of their own. You have to deliver it before the Eclipse starts, so you had better get a move on. This adventure has spectacular art, probably the best I've seen so far. Very high in both quality and detail, and great character designs. The art also feeds into the great worldbuilding, which is again some of the best I've seen so far. The plot is good, though it didn't get far, but that's mostly because of the time spent on the characters, the actual length is quite substantial. It's also funny. Notable Mentions: mspfa.com/?s=162&p=1 Pokemon Stupid: This is a decent pokemon parody, it did a pretty good job of making fun of things from the source material. I laughed. mspfa.com/?s=167&p=1 Datastuck: This is the worst adventure I have ever read, and it is 289 pages long, that is all i have to say on the matter.

Fun fact: every adventure in this set was written by the same person. Almost all of them had lost their pictures too, and the author could only recover the pictures to a few. Notable Mentions: mspfa.com/?s=174&p=1 THE SUPERLATIVE: This starts out as just some random stuff with no direction, but then turns into gods ruling a planet, and I found the ending oddly satisfying. Images here imgur.com/a/lvUFH (Also, there is a chance that these are actually the pictures to adventure 173, THE BEST, its a bit weird) mspfa.com/?s=176&p=1 The Hall of the Cubicles of Transcendance: This is a supplementary adventure to Buff McFlintflank, and I found the worldbuilding quite interesting, it felt like one of those Lorepedias some video games have.

mspfa.com/?s=178&p=1 " We Were Scientists...": You are Iriyo. For generations, you have searched for answers. Answers to why? Why is the universe the way it is? Why does it exist at all? To that purpose, you looked into other dimensions. But they looked back. You lost your home, your society, your purpose. But in your seclusion, you found something more. This is a supplementary story to Buff McFlintflank, but you don't need to have read that to understand it, I think. The writing is really great, and it feels like it could have come straight from a classic 20th century sci-fi novel. The art is very unique and adds to the atmosphere quite well. The actual plot is great too. mspfa.com/?s=184&p=1 Cordless: On the planet Terron, a youth will play an important game, one that will decide the fate of a universe, etc. In the meantime though, he must come to terms with his societal fate, given to him at birth. When he had 4 cords attached to him. Actually everyone has cords. They're pretty useful tools. This sburbventure has great art, with good characters and character design. There is a lot of good worldbuilding, which really quite interesting and original. The plot picks up nice and fast as well, with lots of interesting threads and hooks. Notable Mentions: mspfa.com/?s=177&p=1 Create: The art of this one is sweet, and it was looking to be quite original. It didn't get very far, but it still introduced some rather interesting concepts. mspfa.com/?s=180&p=1 Sick Brah and Cowabungah Dan: This is reminiscent of Datastuck, in how the commands take whole unrelated posts from the thread, but too a much larger degree. It's like to window into another time, and is honestly quite interesting to follow.

mspfa.com/?s=185&p=1 Nepetaquest 2011: You are Nepeta Leijon. Today is your fifth wriggling day, and you feel like going on an ADVENTURE! You have this treasure map and everything. It is an exciting time, what with the VR games and genetic engineering, some of your friends are even developing a chat client. Classic adventure, and it does a good job of adding lots more interesting worldbuilding to Alternia. Art is quite good, and I really liked how it presented canon characters in the past. It also has a crossover with Cordless which was very well done, and the plot was good. Sadly, the second half is missing its pictures, but its still worth reading. mspfa.com/?s=186&p=1 Semester's End: You are Harrison Fernley, a junior at Paxton College majoring in Christmasology. You've finished 2 of your 3 exams, and are looking forward to a break from schoolwork. But, unfortunately, the building's snowed in, trapping you with tutors, bullies, and "drunk" students. This adventure has pretty good art. The characters were decent, and there were a lot of good character-based humor. I did like the school setting, which I feel was used effectively for humor and actions. Doesn't really get very far, but still, i feel it was a standard good adventure. mspfa.com/?s=187&p=1 Hikikomori: You are Hikikomori. You like playing video games. You don't like to leave your room very much. You write down your dreams in a journal when you have them, which is often. They are a bit scary, but, you think can stand them if you try. The thing I liked most about this adventure was its atmosphere, which was nicely eery. The protagonist doesn't talk, which in a roundabout way gives them good character, along with their actions. The art is quite nice, and the plot is interesting too, though it feels shorter than it is. mspfa.com/?s=188&p=1 A Day in the Life of the Homestuck Kids: You are John Egbert. Today, like most days, you are on your way to school. Unfortunately you spend most of the day unconscious, for various reasons, but you get to see all your friends as well! What a great day! This is a rather good AU, with pretty great art, I really liked the character art. The characterization was also good. The plot's pretty random, but the events that happen are pretty funny, and I liked the writing.
