I'm not entirely certain if I've placed this correctly, but I have an idea for an AU I would like some help developing for MSPARP. I was hoping to talk about some of the ways the story would be affected, some ideas for character development, that sort of thing. But a whole thread devoted to my one wannabe AU-verse seemed rather grandiose, so I figured I could start up a place to talk about any sprouting AU's, new ideas for old AU's, or just squee ad nausium about our favorite AU's. So I will open with my own AU which I have come up with. Feel free to respond to this and/or share your own ideas, because honestly Homestuck is chalk full of fuel for different AU's.
I'm calling my AU Muse English. It's a really dumb name and I'd like a better one, but I think it gets the point across okay. The basic premise is that everything played out exactly as before, except Caliborn and Calliope were born with the opposite moralities they did in canon. Thus Calliope, the Muse of Space, used her own brand of rock-solid determination and incredible creativity and knowledge in order to compose the Ultimate Symphony: the glorious disintegration of all that exists. I've done a couple of test runs on PARP, and so far I've played her pretty much as a feminine Doc Scratch, using her knowledge and power over what is essentially all of space to pretty much Sherlock-out all the events of the story. She usually goes on about everybody being part of a machine, and how every particle in the universe causes change elsewhere in the universe. Causation is her favorite word. She sees herself as a conductor or a mechanic or a painter pulling together all the pieces into assured oblivion, taking pleasure in understanding each piece and just how it is destroyed. It's pretty friggin' twisted, but I think it's a decent depiction, or at least a decent idea of a depiction, of an evil Calliope. I hope I phrased it well here.
Now what I was really hoping to work out is not just how she behaves, but her effects on the overall story. I assume her relationship with Gamzee and Hussie would be pretty similar to Caliborn's in canon. And I assume she may be able to put together a homosuck that is at the very least higher-quality, if she feels the need to create it at all. And this being Homestuck, there are probably a million and one things I've overlooked in thinking this to be even a viable idea for an AU. So I'd like some help on that.
That's my little dump. Onward, people!
