What's the anniversary of it being funded? Or announcing the Kickstarter? That's my pick. Pretty sure that was one of the later months.

Well, geez.
I guess maybe it is the smarter move to wait patiently and assume nothing. But I do have my predictions, right or wrong. And in the face of endless mounting pessimism, I prefer a little optimistic hype.
Besides, it would be cool if I was right.

As the weeks go by, it seems likely that its release date will be April 13th. Which is a cool reference, but insulting. Hussie better have a good reason for delaying Hiveswap without any communication. It better not have been delayed just so we could all laugh at the coincidence and pat Hussie on the back for the throwback.
///sorry, the wait has just honestly exhausted me. I miss how active this fandom used to be and Hiveswap could be the chance to save it. I can hardly believe that "bug checks" would take this long, especially if its only ACT 1.

If I'm remembering correctly, Hussie said something about announcing something else alongside the game's release. If that is the case, then if I were to make a guess I'd say they're stalling to continue to test the game like they said, work on this other thing, and release on or around the 13th. But could be that's too neat a tidy and that's just how I would do it. *shrug*

I mean, we definitely know the main reason the game was delayed was to finish it up and do bug testing for "several weeks". I'm not in game design so I dunno how long bug testing typically takes, BUT I have worked on other major creative-ish projects and three months is really not that long of a time to put the finishing touches on something and prepare it to roll out. I'd personally rather them wait to release a good product, as opposed to rushing to get SOMETHING out asap. But hey, only one week until 4/13! The wait may finally be over!!!

I honestly don't know what to think. Is he being ironic? Is he being honest? Is he setting us up for a surprise? Is he trying to prepare us for disappointment? Why is it that I'm still have to decipher Hussie's every word, even though the comic is finished???

Better to be disappointed now and get over it. Eager for 4/13 to hear what the damn deal is with the game already.
Let's start preemptively gearing up for a 6/12 release. At least that's pretty appropriate, being the troll number and all.

Does that preemptive gearing up also include preparing to preemptively gear up for a 10/25 release?

If we're so sure that the game will release on a date symbolic to the game, then obviously, because Hivesawp takes place 15 years prior to Homestuck and it's about things swapping i.e. symmetry n'shit, it'll come out 15 years after Homestuck's start i.e. 2024.

Weeeeeeeeeeeelp. That's sad to hear.
I wonder what happened. Did they encounter a LOT of bugs to cause such a delay, or did something else take up so much time?
I hope we'll get some clarity in a few days then.
Pretty sad to hear there won't be much special for 4/13. Though at least I'm really happy with the We Love Fine thing, and also the fact that MSPA Madness 2017 will also reach its conclusion by then!

I'm all for optimism, but I don't see much of a reason to not take him at face value... so that's kind of disappointing to hear, since I was admittedly expecting SOMETHING to happen on 4/13. But hey, at this point I'm just happy to hear something about it. Hopefully it's not TOO much longer, unless they ran into some problems that run deeper than just bug fixing. 6/12 would be nice, but I'm trying to not set any expectations until we're given another release date.
I wish we were at least getting some snap updates or something, but I wouldn't be surprised if What Pumpkin were kind of "all hands on deck" right now to get Hiveswap out the door.

I was just kidding anyway. I'm really hoping it doesn't take that long. But then, I was expecting to be playing by now. So we'll see what the newspost says and hopefully have an idea of how much longer to wait, but I have to admit even I got a little let down this time.
Still, that's just how it goes. While I wouldn't know first hand, I'm sure making games is tough, and nothing ever goes right, especially if you've set a deadline for yourself. Hopefully the game is still around the corner, just a few more weeks off. Maybe it'll be longer than that. Either way, I'll probably find something else to do with my time until it comes out and stop worrying about it so much.

Wouldn't it be great if tomorrow Hussie dropped all four acts of Hiveswap at once, and an epilogue for Homestuck that fixes everything literally everyone was upset about in a bard quest style ending and also released a bunch of new things for us to spend our legally acquired currency on?
haha jokes of course tomorrow is going to suck

Satisfying all classpect theorists alone would be amazing, since most of them are contradicting.

welp its 4/13 over here what timezone does Hussie live in? i wanna add a countdown
wouldn't that be nice haha but yeah, it'd be hard, if not impossible to satisfy literally everyone. I was... Impartial to the end I guess. It was better than Naruto's ending so I can't complain.
I honestly hope its not more weeks of waiting. My definition of weeks is like 3-4weeks/1 month, but apparently Hussie's is 3months so I don't know what to expect. Its getting hard to stay pumped for this game while also simultaneously preparing yourself for disappointment because the release date keeps getting delayed. I was planning to play this game during the Christmas holidays... then the easter holidays. Now it seems I probably won't have time to play it at all.
ahhh I'm sorry, Hussie probably has some good reasons as to why its delayed. When he was updating the comic he only had himself to rely on, and he delivered. This time though, he has to pull together something that requires the expertise of others. I just hope the news is good.

Honestly the thing I find hardest to live with is the fan entitlement. Like, yeah okay I thought I'd have beaten the game thrice over by now myself, and the lack of any communication bugs me as much as it does anyone else. Hell, this latest news post hit me harder than a lot of delays.
But I'm not comfortable how normal it's grown to just shit all over Andrew all the time and act like the only reason it's unreasonable to expect a bunch of content from him all at once is because he makes a habit of disappointing his fans, who definitely don't have any unreasonable expectations at all. And sure, it's mostly said with a sense of tongue-in-cheek playfulness, but....
I don't know. In a lot of ways, I dread coming here, which probably shouldn't be what I feel about the place I go to discuss my favorite thing ever. And ultimately, that's on me. I could always just stop coming, and chat about Homestuck with my friends if I really wanted. I'm holding out for Hiveswap because I want to be part of the community when that happens, but depending on how that goes, once that is done with, I might just leave.
Anyway, as it is my expectations are pretty much rock bottom. I'm not even necessarily holding out for an update on 4/13, because it wouldn't surprise me if that ran a day or two late either. As for what that update would entail, I have no idea. I'm hoping for a revised release date at most.
But I didn't mean to get so down in the dumps there suddenly. Actually all in all I've been getting pretty excited. I don't know about any plans happening with MSPA or welovefine, but I just plan on enjoying the day and being happy I found this amazing story that changed my life, and other gushy stuff like that. It'll be a good, fun day for me, no matter what happens on the What Pumpkin front.

It'll be a good, fun day for me, no matter what happens on the What Pumpkin front. Meh, I'm being mostly facetious when I shit on the huss. It's just sort of funny to me I guess, how long it's taken this game to come out. I've had 40 dollars and 1 cent sitting in my steam account for over a year now specifically waiting to buy Hiveswap (The first nine bucks and some odd cents were spent on Morrowind). The small bit of actual frustration I have for the games drop isn't so much entitlement as it is like... whatever a dog feels like when you pick up its leash and put it down. And then don't walk it for a week. And then pick up the leash once it's forgotten what it's like to be lied to. Then putting it down. Repeat since 2015. Of course even that sentiment is mostly tongue-in-cheek. At the end of the day I have enough meat and stardust to sustain myself so I don't care too much, but... man I don't know I'm not even that focused on Hiveswap I'm still saving up for Breath of the Wild.
