Roll to dodge! You should know how to play an RTD, but if you don't the rules are under the cut.
A roll to dodge is a semi-freeform roleplay played out in rounds. Every round your character can take one action and the results of said action are decided by a dice roll. The rolls you can get are thus:
1: Critical failure, you fuck up entirely and in ways you wouldn't expect.
2: Failure, you mess up.
3: The snore roll. Everything goes about how you would expect, regardless of if that's good or bad.
4: Success, yuo did it. Congrat.
5: Critical success, you do it so well you exceed all expectations, nothing goes wrong at all.
6: MONKEYS PAW, You succeed so hard it causes problems. Anything is fair game on this roll, expect anything.
But, this is also a grand battle! (In theory) That means there are 8 rounds and in each round 1 competitor dies. Each round is in a new setting. Because of the unpredictable nature of the RTD, more than one character can die a round given a seriously bad combo of rolls so there may be fewer rounds.
Unlike a regular grand battle, being the best writer will not save you from lady luck should she want to strike you down.
