Can you add the PANEL to your inventory?

>Press black again?
You hit the black button again. It makes the room darker, so you keep hitting it until the room is completely black. You should now be able to enter the black room at the end of the corridor.
>Can you add the PANEL to your inventory?
The panel is added to your inventory. Maybe you can use this to control the lights from elsewhere in the building.
->
Probably not though, seeing as you just tore the panel off the wall and broke the lighting system. It probably wasn't that important. You were able to pry it off too easily for it to be important. That's what you want to think, at least.

I'd say PUZZLE SOLVED. You know, for the conceivable future, or you know, forever!
Let's go to the Black Hallway. You might need a light source.

>Frantically try to fix it.
That's not going to work anytime soon. You broke it.
>Give up.
You give up and decide to go to the room at the end of the hall. You grab the table first; it might be useful later.
>Let's go to the Black Hallway. You might need a light source.
The black barrier was generated by some sort of negative light source that turned off when you broke the panel. The new room has a thick metal door. It's locked.
->
Closer inspection reveals that there seems to be some sort of combination lock. The bottom has an arrow pointing right and a vertical line scratched into it.

Box is 0 Line is 1 After those digits, they combine like Roman Numerals, or tally marks.
Assuming that this is an elevator . . . Buttons seem to be (Left to right, top to bottom) Box --> (Floor) 0 Line --> (Floor) 1 Line Box --> (Floor) 10 Line Line --> (Floor) 2 Line Line Box --> (Floor) 20 Line Line Line --> (Floor) 3 Line Line Line Box --> (Floor) 30 Line Line Line Line --> (Floor) 4 Line Line Line Line Box --> (Floor) 40
Then, clear? Direction change? and STOP?
The arrow indicates that you are currently at Floor 1, or Single Line.
That speculation aside, let's do something stupid. Try pounding on the door and shouting.

Direction change? and STOP? The arrow indicates that you are currently at Floor 1, or Single Line. That speculation aside, let's do something stupid. Try pounding on the door and shouting. That doesn't make sense. Why would there be floors 0-4 and 10, 20, 30, and 40. I think it's more likely Box = 1, Line = 2, thus: Box --> 1 Line --> 2 Line Box --> 3 Line Line --> 4 Line Line Box --> 5 Line Line Line --> 6 Line Line Line Box --> 7 Line Line Line Line --> 8 Line Line Line Line Box --> 9 Also, the floor selection is usually inside the elevator; this is more likely a keypad where you have to enter a password. And then the buttons on the bottom are perhaps 0, clear, and enter? With that in mind: > put the keypad into your inventory. If it's anything like the light puzzle it will failsafe to unlocked!

The inventory rejects the keypad. You're only allowed to destroy puzzles after you've already solved them! >Maybe there's a camera or something. Do a silly jig to catch its attention!
You do a little jig. Nothing happens. If there's a camera, whoever is watching isn't very impressed by your dancing.
>Try pounding on the door and shouting.
You pound on the door and demand that anyone who might be on the other side must open the door immediately. You hear the muffled sound of someone pounding on the other side, but the door doesn't budge.

You enter the sequence from the note. That's either 20-20-20 10-1-3 40-20-0-1, or 5553269512.
->That leaves the last row of buttons, labeled here as 1, 2, and 3. None of them actually indicate what they're supposed to do, so you're not sure which one you have to press to input the code.

Pressing button 3 makes the whole keypad flash red. This must mean that you didn't use the right code.
->
Pressing button 1 causes the keypad to flash white. Since it's a blank button that affected all of the buttons, that one is probably used to clear your input.
->
Button 2 flashes purple when pressed. This one is probably either 0 or some function you don't know about yet.

Do just one line of the code from the note. It's probably several lines of separate codes.
Put in the top line, and press the Purple Button 2.

You know, both the middle line of code on the note and the bottom line of code on the note have a indicator above them, like a Capital I or a Numeral 1. Which seems to agree to the vertical line scratched into the pad.
Try the second line of code and the purple button?

Try the second line of code and the purple button? And once you're finished with that try the third line followed by the right bottom button? (AKA, treating the middle button as a spacer between parts)

Still nothing. The red flash lasted longer than it did last time.

The backlight also shines through the roughly carved arrow at the bottom of the keypad.

Try the just first line from the note, then the bottom right button.

Maybe it's red because of a problem. Red light -> Blocked, or locked, or trouble. Maybe it won't open because the elevator isn't on this floor. I assume it will have the green light when it does.
Bring out the panel from your inventory. Try altering the color of this room.

>Bring out the panel from your inventory. Try altering the color of this room. The panel isn't in your inventory. ->It's still in the other room, poorly attached to the wall. ->The panel's completely busted. You take it off the wall and try to fit it on in a few different directions, but nothing works. Even if you had the right tools, you have no idea how to fix it.
