Just go in and say it as it is, ask for a check up and to see Fayre. How hard can that be?

You slip into the doctors room. It’s more of an office set up for paperwork and quick check ups. Behind the door by the desk is where all the major things like surgeries, xrays, or things that take much longer and more work happen. It’s kind of empty and you can’t really see the doctor anywhere.
Speaking of said doctor.
>Go in and offer to work as volunteer for some time. If anyone questions it, explain that you’re training your medical skills … to be a better fighter. If you can get the medics alone, you can ask for treatment, but discreetly. Plus, you can look for Fayre without making a big fuss of it.
>Just go in and say it as it is, ask for a check up and to see Fayre. How hard can that be?
>Say you come t cjheck on the peson hat was brought with you. ls tha you wouldn’t mind a check up of your core.
You honestly don’t understand how anyone can do any of that like it's nothing. These disembodied voices you’re hearing must have some special doctor or nerves of steal if they can just walk in and ask or offer a thing like that with ease or confidence. It's not that any of these wouldn't work, and you know you have to do this, you literally have to ask for your core to get checked up on if you don't want to risk making a potential injury worse, and you need to see how Fayre is doing or you can just consider yourself the Worlds Worst Friend.
It's just... he's kind of scary.
Not in the same way that Alula can be scary. Hell, d ealing with him isn’t even as terrible as dealing with Alula, but he’s kind of… creepy at times. He likes the dead more than the living, has a keen interest in taking apart corpses, and you’re never sure if you’re going to wind up dissected or not, especially since he's said a good few hundred times how much he'd like to cut apart either your or your sisters cores to see if yours is any different from non-royalty.
He’s PROBABLY a good person since your mother hand-picked him for this job, but he’s like that creepy neighbor all the kids in the neighborhood were scared of well into their teenage years.

I think the doctor shouldn't reveal himself. Just casually measure Orion's head with calipers and muse about phrenology. And leave the lights off. You like a game of follow the shadow.

Orion --> Totally snoop for Fayre. You have the whole place to yourself after all. Maybe even rehearse a conversation to her, so that you'll get it right when you finally meet her again. I bet she's worried.

Orion --> Totally snoop for Fayre. You have the whole place to yourself after all. Maybe even rehearse a conversation to her, so that you'll get it right when you finally meet her again. I bet she's worried.

You decide that snooping and rehearsing is probably a good course of action and take to roaming around the room searching for anything that might tell you where your friend was hiding. You even start digging through some of the drawers, you know she isn't going to be in them, but you just feel like doing that.
Orion: Hey, Fayre, sorry for passing out and leaving you alone with a dead giant snake and possibly my older sister. Really a dick move on my part. You didn't deserve to suffer her company. My bad. Orion: Soooo, welcome to my home. I know it's probably big and a little scary for you, but I promise you'll be okay. Orion: And if anyone causes you problems, just let me know and I'll sort it out for you.
You pause for a moment at a picture frame, and for a moment you wonder if it's the doctors family but, no, it's just a photo of him receiving an award of some sort.
Orion: What about me? Oh, I'm fine, not too hurt, really. A few scrapes and bruises, no need to worry. Orion: How about I give you a tour of- Orion: Huh?
You spy the door to the patients ward and, well, you kind of feel dumb for a moment. Of course if Fayre is here, she's probably going to be in there. Might as well give it a check.

But when you try to open, the door doesn't budge at all. Locked. You can't even force it open.
Orion: You've got to be kidding me.
You don't think you saw a key anywhere when you were snooping. Why would this door even be locked?

To make matters worse, you still can't shake the feeling someone is watching you.

You know the Doctor would never leave a patient unattended, so he must be here playing one of his games again... You've been out for two days, had a fight with your sister and don't feel well. You are a Prince and not putting up with this. Don't move or raise your voice. Just ask the Doctor how your friend is and also ask how you are.

You are a Prince and not putting up with this. Don't move or raise your voice. Just ask the Doctor how your friend is and also ask how you are. That's right you're a prince, you're nobility-, no, ROYALTY. Even if you're just kind of a little bit scared of the good doctor here you will not put up with him messing with you like this. You've had a long past few days involving giant snakes, your sister and being knocked out and you deserve some answers and maybe some respect and hopefully not any scalpels or attempts at at vivisection on your personage.
Orion: Alright then.
Orion: I know you're here. Orion: Somewhere. Orion: Look, can we cut the fun and games, save all that for later? Orion: Can you tell me how Fayre is doing? Orion: She would have been the kid that was brought back with me. Orion: Alien. Lots of bandages. Missing most of her limbs. You'd know her when you see her? Orion: Maybe let me, you know, see her for myself, too, if she's not in a 'no visitors allowed' condition. Orion: And get a check up on myself, too? I took some damage in that fight, want to make sure I'm all good.
You feel a very sudden and very unwelcome hand grab your shoulder
Orion: SWEET HOLY FUCK! Orion: Don''t scare me like that! Orion: Are you trying to make my core implode or something? Doctor:...Hi. Doctor: I'll unlock the patients room. Doctor: We can get everything sorted out in there.Orion: Please don't vivisect me. Orion: also why does your hair look a little like mine today? Doctor: Hmm? Say something? Orion: Nope.

How about trying to get your check up out of the way and then see if you can get Fayre out of there? I'm sure she'd like to see more than the sterile patients room.

Take Fayre on a tour, or take Fayre to get food?
Talk to her about spaceships? She probably hasn't been off-world ever.
You sneak over to one of the monitors in the room to make a quick food request over to the kitchen. As far as you know, Fayre should be able to eat the same things you can so you don't think you have to worry about accidentally poisoning her and you really don't see a point going all the way to the dining room and or kitchen and be slowed down when there are so many places you want to show her. The war room where Alula always kicks you out of, the training yard where you always get your ass kicked, the work room where any and all the machinery gets fixed and you nearly lost a finger to. The Too Many Holograms room where you always get lost in. The mail room where she can pick up any letters if she finds herself a penpal. Just because you're a super-advanced high-tech race with an empire stretched out through the galaxies doesn't mean you can't enjoy some good old fashioned snail mail. There's a certain charm to letters that emails don't have. And no one will judge or be any the wiser if you take a few days to reply as opposed to email.
You take her hand in yours and start leading her out of the room and pretend not to notice how the grip of her metal hand is nearly crushing your own hand. Orion: So spaceships. Can't wait to show you some of the latest models Novescala has been developing. Orion: No one off-planet has even gotten to see the latest prototypes yet. Orion: I bet you'll be impressed. I hear they're fancy interiors.Fayre: I've never seen any spaceships interior. Fayre: My only time in a spaceship I was kind of temporarily blind.Orion: Maybe we can get Alula to let us show you the inside of hers. Since you couldn't see when you were in it. Orion: She may be a mythic bitch, but she always has the best ships, so that's one good thing about her. Fayre: She was the one who got us off the colony, right? Fayre: She seemed pretty scary when we met. Fayre: Really bad attitude. Orion: That sounds like her all right.Somewhere in the back of your mind you wonder if someone should enroll you and Alula in family counseling or something. You guys just reach the end of the hall when one of the little service bots roaming the place waddles up with a tray of food for Fayre. They're cute and you can tell what it's designated job is by the colors, this one has a greenish color so it's a kitchen bot. The bot holds out simple sandwich, you see some green mush and layered above some orange-ish...sauce? You think that's sauce at least. Orion: You can eat this stuff, right? You're just asking to make absolutely sure.Fayre: My race can eat literally anything that's organic. Fayre: Literally. Anything. Fayre: So yeah, I can eat it, no problem.

=> Show Fayre The Work Room You decide that while the little food serving robo friend is still around, you'll use him to check on the work room. A light nudge and it brings up a light-projector showing you the availability of your destination. You're not entirely surprised to find that it's out for the time being. The staff are probably out for lunch, or maybe one of your sisters are monopolizing it at the moment for some world-conquering project. They hog a lot of things here. Or just deny you access since you're not a CONQUEROR yet like them and thus don't 'need' these rooms. You let the screen shut down and the robot go, it probably has other very important mindless jobs to do. Orion: I see you like your sandwhich. Fayre: I haven't eaten anything this good in Fayre: ever Fayre: it's delicious! Considering it's a really simple, downright plain and boring, sandwhich, you kind of feel bad for her. You also can't wait to see her react to some food that actually is delicious.Orion: Say, how about you decide what we do next? Fayre: Me?Orion: Yeah! Orion: Anywhere you want to go, to do, or even know. Orion: We'll do what you want. => Become Fayre You are now Fayre.
Now the responsibility of what to do has fallen onto your small child shoulders.
More importantly.

You've just been told that you get to decide what happens next. You've never been allowed to make these kinds of decisions or choices, not even in whether you'd get to keep your legs or not! But now you get to decide what you and Orion are going to do, you get to decide what a prince has to do!
This is a good day, a very good day. Your excitement cannot be contained as shown by the the crumb-filled smile adorning your face.

Fayre -> Take a stroll (get lost wandering?) and sing/whistle? Try to teach Orion a song?

Fayre -> Whistle a tune You whistle a song, it's kind of the only song you actually have memorized, and it's nice to fill the silent halls of this place with some noise. You're halfway through a difficult note when you notice that Orion's looking at you with a wordless question.
Fayre: It's a song from my home.Fayre: Well, not home-home, just, the colony I grew up on?Fayre: People were always humming and whistling it as they worked.Orion: Gatcha. It's a nice melody.Fayre: It is, isn't it?-> Take A Stroll
You offer to teach him the song, to no avail. Orion's more content just listening to you whistle it. But eventually your whistling ends as the two of you start just chatting about this and that, random topics really, as you two walk aimlessly down the colorless halls.
Really, someone should add a splash of paint to these rooms, it could really do to liven the castle up a bit. At least there's some flowers here are there to add life to the dreary halls. You even ask Orion why there's such a lack of color, but not even he seems to know why everything has to be shades of grey around here. He jokingly points out that maybe it's just because Novescalans live a world of grey, so they might as well color everything it too.

However, you are surprised when the two of you wander into a room that actually has color to it. Even if this one is more brown than anything else, it's better than gray. You easily spy three thrones at the end of the long hall-like room, with long tables on either side.
You decide that it's a fancy room for probably equally fancy things.

-> Check Out the Chairs You make your way up to the thrones, going for the one at the top, which is also the tallest one of the three. You like the purple on this one, but it doesn't look comfortable. Just feeling it you can tell that it's made out of some hard metal, with only the purple velvet to provide some comfort, it'd probably hurt if someone sat on one of these for a while.
Fayre: What are these? Orion: My mother and sisters thrones. They regulate laws and entertain prominent dignitaries here, Maia conducts her court sessions here if the defendent or case is pretty high in importance too. Fayre: Where's your throne? You're a prince so shouldn't you get one?

Orion just sighed at your question, taking a seat at the brown steps and looking... not sad or mad... but discontent? You think that's the word you're looking for. It's clear he's not too happy with the subject.
Orion: I don't get one. Orion: I have to rule over something to have a throne. I have to have a colony and an army. Orion: I have none of those.
You don't know what to say to that. It sounds like a stupid rule to you, but you're not into law or government or any of that, so maybe it's a normal rule among intergalactic empires like Novescala. But you can tell that it's not a topic that Orion is happy with, so you think of something to change the mood.

Climbing onto the throne, which is just a little difficult since it is fairly tall, you let your feet dangle over the edge and grin as you look back over to Orion. Yep, you were right about your assumption, the throne isn't all that comfortable, and it feels like it hasn't been sat in for a long while, either.
Fayre: So, how do I look?

Orion looks at you for a moment with surprise, probably because people generally don't sit in other people's thrones, but his face then eases into a gentle smile.
Orion: Like a queen. Orion: I'd give you a crown if I had one on me

-> Ask About Novescala You ask about how Novescala works, it's methods of gaining colonies, it's relations with other planets and if diplomacy is even a thing for his kind. There's a sparkle in Orion's eyes when you ask that, as though he has been eager to be able to explain his culture to someone for a long time.
Orion: I guess it makes sense you might not know how our empire works.
Orion: We've a pretty heavy conquest and conqueror culture here, and have hundreds of worlds under Novescalan rule. Though we don't colonize every planet we come across. If a planet proves more to require effort and resources than it's worth, has no use to our race for either resources or isn't even livable for us, or is just not a planet we can colonize, like gas giants, then we tend to leave alone. Sometimes there are planets we just stick around to observe before deciding to colonize or not, too.
Orion: As for any opponents? Our biggest threat and rival is the Asillarian Republic since they're expanding pretty quickly as an intergalactic empire. We've a pretty tense treaty with them since a war would be really messy and wouldn't benefit anyone.
Fayre: Do you guys got a diplomatic group or anything? Or do you take your worlds by brute force
Orion:if we can take control without any conflict or complications then we've had the best outcome. Unfortunately most people don't like having their government torn apart and replaced by a foreign rule, so we usually go to war. Most of the worlds we've conquered didn't have technology advanced enough to pose any actual threat, so the wars don't last too long.
Orion: Diplomacy is primarily under Maia's jurisdiction, but both mother and Alula both are pretty good diplomats when they want to be and have a good number of Novescalans dedicated to colonization diplomacy to help smooth things over. We keep a lot of ambassadors on all our colonies too, keeps the peace and all that, as well as the colony leader, be it Mother, Maia or Alula, regularly visiting.

Orion: Mother's the one who started colonizing and conquering other planets. She unified all the Novescalans into a single kingdom so many thousands of years ago, and when our population became more than our planet could sustain, she led us into space travel and colonized the planets in our solar system, then our galaxy, going further and further, adding other worlds and races under our flag.
Orion: Alula and Maia started colonizing as soon as mother believed them ready to lead armies and diplomatic missions. But regardless of how much of a military genius Alula is or how much Maia has improved diplomacy and the court system, Mother's abilities as a leader and a conqueror is unmatched. She could probably rule our entire ever-growing and conflict filled empire on her own if she wanted and it'd still run as smoothly as it does with Maia and Alula rulling parts.
