I picked up Homestuck somewhere around... 2012, I think? I had read and enjoyed Problem Sleuth a couple years earlier (thanks to a /co/ recommendation), and at first it was pretty good. The game mechanics seemed interesting and the storyline was shaping up to be a similar fun romp to PS (but with better graphics). The characters didn't grip me at all - the kids were meh and the trolls were just annoying whenever they showed up - but I kept at it hoping it would turn better over time. However, when I reached the interlude with the green billiards guys and the time travel nonsense I realized that I was simply not enjoying forcing myself to slog through it so I dropped the comic and haven't looked back since.
Contrary to that I don't regret joining the original MSPA forums at all. Originally I followed Kazerad there to participate in his Prequel adventure only to start my own soon afterwards. It has been an enjoyable and educative hobby, so in that sense I'm happy that Homestuck exists!

I had seen things related to problem sleuth before. But my first encounter was probably in 2014 when I was on Youtube. I was originally A huge fan of Insane Clown Posse, And I saw a video in the suggestions for the song Miracles. The video was called Karkat: Answer Gamzee. And I looked up their names and found Homestuck!

i started reading homestuck after discovering it had a version of MEGALOVANIA in it, seeing that as a good a reason as any to try to fill the massive hole i felt inside me having finished undertale. i sped through the archives like no ones business, going through everything over the course of a week or something. Funnily enough, i actually read the entirety of the Intermission(Spades' "go for the throat" MO was a welcome change of pace), but tried to skip Act 5 Act 1, all of the troll stuff, because i cared more about John, Rose, Dave and Jade, and the stuff they were doing. It was only after seeing how many of the pester logs had trolls involved did i think i should see what the deal is with them.

I believe I heard about it back in 2012 or 2013, but never cared enough to check it out (I only looked up the general premise on Wikipedia), mostly since it hadn't had a very big fandom in Poland and my English wasn't all that good back then. I heard about it again when Undertale came out, and I saw its version of Megalovania. I listened to a few other songs after that, mainly Umbral Ultimatum and thought to myself "hey, why don't I read this Homestuck thingy, it has good music". Back then I thought I wouldn't be very invested in it, and I wasn't in a few early acts, but then Act 5 kicked in and Homestuck completely consumed my life. It was early December 2015 when I officially joined the fandom. I got into a few other things since then, but Homestuck continues to be a huge part of my life.

When I started to read Homestuck Meenah an Vriska were still playing with eachother in the dream bubbles. I think I've heard about it much earlier but at that time my English was kinda... not good. (still is) Since then I've read Homestuck about... 3 times I guess.

I remember that I started way back in June of 2013 when my brother showed it to me. At that moment I stopped near act 3 or 4 (not sure) because it got me kind of bored and my english wasn't that good to understand it all.
But aside from that I decided to read it again JUST after the Gigapause started. You have a lot of time to catch up so there wasn't any worry.

The same thing happened to me, I couldn't get past Act 1 and then I regretted that I didn't read it earlier.
