Today's an inspirational day. I think I'll have time to do Blatty's and Ferren's introduction tonight, given I have enough theine in my blood. Blatty's current introduction panel was taken down due to a hosting problem so I hope I can redo it soon. this is a codename to say i found it stupid and ugly. The Silyam: Wake up page and the one after are also on my hitlist. They'll likely be either repurposed for something entirely different, or redone with amazing art worthy of Prospit's first appearance in media res. pfft why do i throw myself flowers my art is ugly auuuugh That red dragon looks BADASS as all hell hot damn It's the Predators' symbol animal: It's very metaphoric, but it might do an appearance later, in some kind of Gryphon-style hero mode pose. Everyone loves striking a pose with a huge beast standing behind them.

Hey guys, let's return to suggestions quickly. Directly after Blatty's naming, there are two pages, Be Silyam...again and Silyam: Wake up, that show Silyam sleeping and waking up on "Prospit". Then it's a direct switch to Benkan and Weisch's dialogue and introduction. Due to pagination, I can't delete those two pages, cause then it'd be messed up and I'd have to re-do all hyperlinks for further pages on my Tumblr and everywhere. So I'm left with two bonus pages which feel out of place and too "random". I want to put in some content. But what? There are several options. *Either follow with Gallia, Carnos (and Ferren, if you want), and have them discuss things such as their future game or other characters *Either keep the "Silyam does something" theme *Either briefly switch onto other characters, see what they are doing, especially Blatty *Either do some worldbuilding by having characters talk about their world's actualities *Or something entirely else! So I'd like you to put yourself in the shoes of a newcomer who hadn't read past Blue troll: Reveal your name already! and suggest what to put next, to fill in those two pages before switching to Benkan and Weisch. Keep in mind, it has to be coherent within the early story. Thank you

I really wish there was a subscribe to thread thing on this forum. Anyway, id go with worldbuilding. You can subscribe to a thread to get a mail each time a thread gets updated. Pretty useful if you ask me. (you do so while replying, I think) Worldbuilding it is then. Is there a particular aspect of Sotergan or its society you'd like to know more?

More progression on the replacement two-parter. Some details about the Frost, and technical differences between countries. In case the periphrasing wasn't clear enough, the "Star-Spangled Alliance" is 'Troll USA', located on the continent of Colombia. "Stellar Community" refers to 'Troll European Union' (as the EU's flag is a ring of stars). Future mentions of "Troll [country]" will be changed to reflect the thought-over geography of Sotergan. All those funny-named countries have custom flags.

Discussion post: I just had this crazy idea. It would make Zodiacstuck's end and plot coincide, but is very, *very* prone to failure. I might need to work on it. #NoSpoil, of course. Don't worry. I checked some things and it might be possible to happen. So I'm gonna let a Suspension of Disbelief joker for later, and try to plan it. Given what I already have spared for later, it could do a splendid Double Plotwist Reacharoundâ„¢ if done correctly. Plus, it goes with one of Zodiacstuck's recurring themes. All I can say is: humans exist in Zodiacstuck's continuity. "But we were still there."

Discussion post: You know...sometimes I feel like I put in too much into a story few people care about. As I'm doing research for my latest plot idea, quoted above, I realize I'm struggling to know whether or not there is a natural reaction that could cause bauxite and aluminum ore to turn pink. But this is a detail! It isn't even closely related to what I need to do! (well, it only explains a thing that adds to the general idea but isn't much needed.) I keep anxieting over small details, fearing a reaction like "hey, but you haven't explained why this happens!", but nothing like that ever becomes true. I spend so much time in worldbuilding that I forget you still don't know anything about it. Why bother having ideas if I don't know how to share them? How many useless updates will I have to do before I could finally reveal what I have planned for so long already? I have put lots of research into worldbuilding, backstory, logic, and yet I end up not telling any of it! I don't know what to do. Who cares about the world of Sotergan? I can't make two characters have an interesting conversation! Heck, I can't even make a character interesting! I try to cover the wreck I do with nice art, but in the end it's still a wreck! Why bother building over a story that fucking sucks!? Nobody's gonna read that! ... Sorry. Let the depression speak again, haha. Looks awkward to read that all at once, I know. Don't worry. I know Zodiacstuck isn't that bad. Sometimes, we just gotta rant about it a little. Happened to everyone. I'll turn this basic shit into something great. You won't see it coming

Discussion post: I find it funny that a Sburb universe is in the shape of a frog, or even an actual frog. Like, is this frog sentient? What happens to it when it dies? Does it interact with other frogs in the infinite pond of space void? What if the Galaxy Frog was sentient and aware, and was somehow influencing all lifeforms it bears? What if the weird signals from space scientists seek for, were in fact the universe's voice/thoughts, as it tries to communicate with its inhabitants? Is it a god, purposely moving stars and planets for people to decipher and read messages in it? What if Sburb was a frog's attempt at both creating itself and making the perfect inhabitant species? Which came first: Sburb or the Frog??? You've guessed it, it's 3.30am. Note: Canonical approach seems to be that Sburb is the Frog's way of reproducing (i.e spawn other frogs). That's logical. BUT WHAT IF-

Finally, some advancement. The dialogue now shows that Ferren and Weisch are friends, or at least collaborators. Also, cause I don't know shit about american cities but needed a timezone joke, I declare that the lovely village you've seen for the past 10 updates or so is in fact New York. ... I'll name this place "Little Apple". Note: Weisch's nickname for Silyam, "Sternbeobachterin", translates to "star observer", due to her liking of starry skies.

I dont think you have to worry so much. No one is going to mind if everything isnt totally scientifically accurate and you can always hand wave it away with the fact that you're on an alien world.

Meh, I guess you're right. But I like to do actual research and learn new things as I go. And while the "Let's pretend it's possible" joker is useful, I feel it's kind of...easy? Not that it's a bad thing, but putting scientific facts in fiction is a thing I like to do. And honestly, for what I have planned, it would be so cool if it could really happen. Well, not *that* cool, actually...but hey, I'll let you judge of that. Granted I'm still alive by the time I reach Act 413: Big reveals. heh. Seriously, it's been like a billion years and we've only reached fishpeople so far.

Progress! The two "bros" of Zodiacstuck, casually chilling like the bachelors they are in Benkan's messy house. Admire the re-done sprites, especially with Benkan's hair fixed a little. Yes, it is a Tekken 5 screenshot I have drawn horns over. Bonus: Hesperia's ("Spain's") flag design in the background.

Homestuck Vol. 10 was so inspiring, I couldn't help but doing some visuals, that might appear in Zodiacstuck some day. Enjoy. Sotergan, with the Frost visible from space (kinda). Ne'alia, with its falwera and core waters. The design was a hell. And, since it's now canon...

I really, really, really like how you drew the Earth. Might be biased though since it is one of my favorite planets in our solar system.

I prefer Mercury. It's small, close to the sun and without air to breathe. Perfect place for trash like me But there are no cockroaches on Mercury, so I'll pass. But yeah, I plan to draw this (potential) arc in a "storytelling style", different from the alias-lined one. Now all I need is Garnet to do the voice-over. "The Earth. 5750 years ago."

Mars, Neptune and Earth are my favorites (Neptz = Neptune) Earth because I feel it like it is the 'mother' of all we pretty much know. I can't help but feel tender familial love towards it. Mars is like our little brother and Neptune just is pleasing.

Headcanons under the cut. Neptune is the slightly-awkward uncle who collects bottle caps, is unbeatable at chess, and know tons of useless facts about fishing. Also he wears sandals with socks and claims Pepsi and Coca taste the same. Is good at Mario Kart and can't cook for shit, so when he's asked to watch the kids, they always order pizza, "don't tell your mom cause I promised you would eat healthy"-style. Has a house in the countryside where they go for the holidays.
Mars is the annoying 10-years old little brother who likes toy cars, strawberry shortcake and always cries "I'm telling mom" whenever you tell him anything. Pulls out his tongue a lot and is kind of show-off. He loves volcanoes and crazy natural things, and has an ant farm in his bedroom. Tries to act tough but is a sweetheart. Cries when he gets hurts and needs Mommy's magic healing kiss, can't sleep without a bedtime story.
Earth is that 40-something single mom with short hair who's tired of cleaning up after her kids. She always cooks nice and healthy food with vegetables and good things, but her kids always complain about how weird it tastes, so she ends up making chicken nuggets and laments herself on how bad of a mother she is. She had depression problems and often smokes, even though she promised to stop. She loves her kids very much, but can't always put up with their shit.
And if you keep up with this theme, then: Venus is the teenage sister who's famous on Instagram and has a hippie tendency, considers being vegan, supports local markets, is fascinated by sea life, loves gardening and metal music, wants to be a lawyer; Saturn is the sassy lesbian aunt who knows about all of her neighbors' affairs, has lots of necklaces and earrings, knows how to host a party, is very chubby, believes in alien conspiracies, makes good cocktails and has three cats; Jupiter is the hunky dad/ex-husband who loves puppies, helps elderly people cross the street, works at a clothing store, has got #DaBooty, does a 5km-jog every morning and knows most of Spielberg's movies' script by heart; Mercury is the agender cousin (Neptune's kid) who works part-time at Starbucks, is quite shy, fast learner, has an aesthetic blog, makes video game music remixes and casually speaks French; Uranus is the nerdy cousin (Saturn's daugther), #PCMasterRace, watches trending anime, listens to rap music, enjoys 19th century literature, often cracks a sexual joke and may not be entirely out of her emo phase; Pluton is the middle brother, a living shitpost generator, writes slashfics on AO3.com, voluntarily helps at the pet shelter, occasionally cosplays, slow-paced, afraid of spiders and wants to run a flower shop; Moon is the family pet. She's a fluffy Persian cat who loves back rubs and lets Earth cuddle her if that means being served meat leftovers.
Their neighbors are the dwarven planets and big moons, with Sun being head of their neighborhood's association or something like that.
Bonus: They all have their respective planet's particular markings as birthmarks. They share eye color with it as well. Damn it, Neptz. Now I want to draw them and maybe make them into a funny sitcom with a name like " 413 Milky Way Street".

Ceres is the nice grandma next door who organizes bake sales, pesters about their useless mayor, does weird things out of the blue, talks of the past with a nostalgic smile, had a tragic love affair during the war with a foreign soldier who left her pregnant, and now lives with her granddaughter Callisto (president of her school's student council, neat braids, worries too much about her grandmother, has a secret MLG side).

Here you go pal. Got the color palettes from stock photos so yeah. That's concept art. It would be kinda funny if each or all of them had some kind of alien power, that they'd use as a deus ex in tricky situations, but it would never be really explained how or why they do it and nobody would ever bring it up. At least, if Zodiacstuck isn't appreciated, I could still try family sitcoms.

I feel like I can't grasp Silyam's character. Lemme explain. When I create a new character, I try to have a stereotypical personality "base" to start from. For example, Carnos is a "douchebag" stereotype. From that on, I work on personality traits, likes and dislikes, everything. Carnos is a douchebag, because he's just a 13-year old who thinks trolling people makes a difference, who's starting a scene/weeaboo phase, who thinks he's an internet celebrity on top of his 10 Youtube subscribers. Then I add more depth to it. Carnos wants to be unique and prove himself, but he can't leave the safety of looking and doing like the others. He blends in as to get accepted, and only then reveals his special talents. That goes with the "unexpected potential" theme of Pages. He wants to be himself, but is dependent on others' views and expectations. He tries to have a cool and tough side, to grow up too fast, and struggles between being accepted by others and being recognized for who he is. He's trying to find his place, find his way into recognition, and in a sense into adulthood. In other terms: he has potential. Silyam, on the other hand, doesn't rely on any stereotype base. I don't know how to describe her. I don't know in what way she can evolve. What is she, exactly? She's a game nerd, joins fandoms on Tumblr, is a scientist, a patriot of some kind, she's clumsy and often can't control what she's doing. She tries to be a leader, but has insecurities? She can shoot laser beams? I don't know how to link all of that into a coherent character! I don't know what she is! What base is she supposed to be? ... Unless... ... ... ... ... ... ... "She's a game nerd" ... ... Wait a minute... ... ... ... ... ... ... "...joins fandoms on Tumblr..." ... ... ... ... ... ... ... "...a scientist..." ... ... ... ... ... ... ... "She's clumsy" ... ... ... ... ... ... ... "...laser beams..." ... ... ... Oh my stars. I SWEAR I DID NOT PLAN THIS
