that had a lot of cool little references and character moments but all and all, not a lot of meaningful stuff happened. i guess i was holding out hope for a twist that never came. i wonder what is gonna come next. i hope the ending is satisfying Nothing meaningful? Surely having nearly all but the most dangerous antagonist out of the way is a big deal. Spades Slick, Calinoir/Billiards Slick, Bec Noir, and )(IC have all been defeated/dead. But I guess you could say those were all foregone conclusions, because we all knew going in that LE would be the biggest threat by far.

Holy shit that was amazing. Not quite as many mind-shattering plot twists as I would have expected, but still damn awesome, especially all the different fight sequences and STRIFE callbacks. (And that one undertale reference, ha.)
It's...really odd how well that went, actually. You'd assume this would be the moment where everything goes to shit and Lord English tightens his seemingly inescapable grip, leading into the overcoming of incredible odds for the climax but. The Condesce, his main servant, is dead. Jake somehow single-handedly took out the Felt. The biggest threat to the heroes, Bec Noir, is eliminated. Jack English, his main host, is a black hole now. The ghost army hasn't done shit against him, but nobody really expected them to anyway. No possessions, no re-grimbarking, no passing-down of Condy's curse, no green sun implosion, not even a tragic Dad death. Nada. Just a really pretty straightforward victory for the heroes, with the tragic exception of Dirk. I mean, that ending was pretty ominous, but it's hard to see how anything goes wrong at this point unless LE himself lasers his way into the session or Gamzee pulls some sort of BS. I guess the Condy curse could just be really, really slow-acting, but honestly, if anyone was going to get it it would have been Jane.
Huh.
I mean, there's still the business with Alt calliope, I guess. And whatever Gamzee's shenanigans are. And sooner or later someone's gonna have to actually kill Lord English, or lock him away or whatever. But that went way, way better for the kids than could have been expected, especially considering Vriska's lack of strategizing skill. I was expecting death counts in the double digits here.
WHAT ARE YOU PLOTTING, HUSSIE?

What were all the tracks that were remixed in?
Also, villains were defeated, The Felt might be recruited (Crowbar respects power) and we got some potentially big info about Caliborn.
I've seen it said a couple of times that it was anti-climatic or not much happened but like, we also had significant things for a lot of the Kids. Karkat got a win, Dirk was able to let go, Dave was able to make some Strides at being a hero, the Resident LE blew up (maybe for good)... I dunno I feel there is a lot to talk about and a lot happened.

Me right now: Does Dirk's "death" here qualify as heroic? Is Dave going time travelling to a point where Jane isn't knocked out by an evil fishwoman? And even if so, what happens to Dirk being in the Dream Bubbles while Lord English Stuff( tm) is going on - is he going to have more luck than poor Karkat? I was expecting Jack Noir and the Felt to end up TEAMING UP with Jake, being led by the "true" Lord English against their old boss. Instead, we get whacky shenanigans and oh dammit poor Karkaaaaaat :'o

I think the implication is that Lord English is a greater threat than all of his Servants combined. He is yet to be emilinated, thus the worst of the battle is yet to come.

The end of that flash seemed very ominous. The creepy high pitched sound, the horrorterror(?) sounds, the static, and the sudden black and white silence. Something tells me the victory at the end will be short-lived. Maybe the Condesce's curse will be passed to Roxy? It wasn't a Horrorterror. It was Typheus. No idea what that means. Oh sweet Jesus, I just had a ridiculous thought that would piss everybody off. What if everything we've seen since John made his Choice has been what Typheus was showing him would happen if he took one path or another? Could just be reusing a sound effect for something unrelated though.

I'm wondering, would Dirk's death count as Heroic or Just in some way? Maybe Heroic, because by keeping both Jacks pinned, Dave was able to get them? It seemed like Dirk was okay with what was going to go down though. So...I still dunno. And even if he did die, he'd still just end up in a dream bubble, right?
EDIT: A Thief of Time has stolen my line of inquiry! HOW DARE YOUUUUUUUU! :mspashouldbehere:

I have to say I did expect the Felt to team up with Karkat. I did think that he would get over there somehow. I also expected Spades and Karkat to team up but, what can you do? Something tells me Spades is not dead yet. Maybe he will be resurrected? It seems an odd place to end his story.

I mean, he did beat them, he is an English. Plus Karkat beat the unbeatable Clover. It is hard to say with Slick. Every time you think he is done he comes back someone. Maybe he absorbs the LE energy. Maybe he is dead for sure while fighting a version of himself. Maybe he'll join the rest of the Midnight Crews in HeistHalla.

I mean, it seems like he attacked the heroes out of a misunderstanding, since they were just in his way to get to what he thought was Lord English. It's not the first time that he attacked somebody that wasn't necessarily his enemy, like when he stab greeted Karkat in A2. He also had that robot head, so maybe he doesn't need to have the rest of his body.

I really like how Jade's plan to pacify the dogs backfired on her. She trusted to much in the power of love and did not recognise righteous anger for what it was. In the end, she was cold clocked and accomplished nothing exept hardening PM's resolve. A sharp refrain to her role in cascade.

I think the implication is that Lord English is a greater threat than all of his Servants combined. He is yet to be emilinated, thus the worst of the battle is yet to come. ...How? Lord English's true power was never in his physical strength, it was his ability to bend everything to his will. He was an intimidating force in Act 5 because he had Scratch and the Handmaiden to orchestrate his will, going so far as to twist the kids' victory into a benefit to himself. His power was that, with his servants, unwitting or no, to act as his pawns, he could twist everything to his needs, be everywhere he needed to be. He has none of this now; all his main vectors of influence are dead save Gamzee. Without that, he's just a muscley green dude with rainbow lasers floating out in the furthest ring. He's...an inconvenience, I guess. Someone's gonna have to get to the business of actually killing/trapping him at some point. But he currently poses no threat to the session or the kids that I can see. He's basically the underdog at this point, unless he's got some other form of influence in the session we don't know about. Which would go back to him needing servants to be truly fearsome. Lord English isn't a greater threat than his servants combined; his threat IS his servants combined.

Well the other God-Tiers seem to have an array of powers (John's done more that just manipulating wind, for instance, and so has Roxy), so maybe Jane just healed his wounds? One Time-Mind Fraymotif did revive Dirk, as well.

I thought the rules were that she could only revive a person once - wasn't that explained to Karkat and Kanaya? So Jane can revive Dirk now, but after that he needs to, er, keep his head. Unless she's already revived him once already, which I don't remember?

I also suprised that Tavros survived even one slap from Lord English But see, what kind of makes me a little sad now is that Karkat still hasn't done something super badass yet. I don't want him to be left out. Even if it's just distracting LE with a rap-off or something, I want him to do something big.

melonlord . I would have to disagree totally, Lord English is literally invincible and possesses a mysterious source of unlimited power. He only needed rely on Servants because he seems to have trouble manifesting in universes directly. English Jack is pretty much a lesser version of Lord English, and he just engaged in protracted combat with two of the best fighters on the protagonists team + a guy with his own former weapon + tons of support. The real Lord English is going to run ramshod over them unless they eliminate whatever fules him, or take him out with time glitches. The Condesce herself probably draws most of her power from the curse which Lord English gave her, which may in fact drain power from him. He would have that power back now unless Roxy has inherited it. The same with the power that was possessed by English Jack.

K, so just some random thoughts here. Both fanboying and complaining. -Spades is dead. That makes me sad. Out of all the Jacks, I had hoped he would actually be helpful and survive to the end, since this version of him hasn't ever done anything particularly villainous, at least not compared to Bec Noir or Union Jack. -I expected Jake to take down most of the Felt, but other than that I expected nothing. -What was up with the fireflies? Are we gonna have the theory that Serenity = Calliope revive here? - Does this mean Dirk is permadead? Or... I don't even know. -ALSO I'M REALLY PISSED THAT ALL THE JANE KILLS THE CONDESCE FORESHADOWING ALL ENDED UP FOR NOTHING. I don't think Jane is going to take the Condesce's place, since Roxy just up and killed her without any warning. Maybe that's the joke. Maybe as a Rogue of Void she stole the Jane foreshadowing. Idk. -The Vriska vs Hussie thing was weird and seemed pointless. Like, that was literally the only thing we saw Vriska do the whole time. -I thought Dad was dead for sure, but good for him, kick some ass. One Punch Dad. -There goes all my predictions about the ending. Except the Green Sun going boom. Hopefully we'll still get to see Vriska do that. And who knows, maybe Condy's not actually dead, just mostly dead, and she'll try and kill Dad or something, and Jane will finish her off, and oh fuck it who am I kidding, its all jossed. -(complain) I don't know, is it bad that I feel a little disappointed? I mean, don't get me wrong, it was great. But there was SO MCUH BUILDUP with all these baddies. If the villains were supposed to be so strong, how come they all went down like chumps at once? Like, even Yaldabaoth, whos a freaking Denizen. Lord English I think is the only one who didn't get beat! I mean, everyone was using Fraymotifs like crazy, and those are apparently pretty powerful, but still, apparently the trolls just BARELY survived the battle with their black king, and all 12 of them had Fraymotifs they used a ton, and all these baddies are supposed to be wayyyy worse than that guy. Also I kind of thought they'd beat them in a more... I dunno... lets say clever? Yeah more clever way. Like, the fight was just, action, the protags getting the shit beat out of them and losing, and then all of the sudden, there's one hit kills on like three at once. Like the Noscope Gods are just handing out karma like cheap cigars and bypassing immortality armor like it's latex. Idk. Either something fishy's going on, or Hussie is just trying to wrap things up as quickly as he can. Probably the latter, which is unfortunate. (/complain) Ok, now for my happy things: -FRAYMOTIFS FINALLY -Karkat being the leader. (Even though he gets wasted right after and only manages to take out ONE ENEMY XD) -Casey Von Salamancer returns with the skeleton army! -THAT GODDAMN UNDERTALE REFERENCE. OMG. -Jake beating the Felt. Hell yeah buddy. -PM being a badass I mean DAMN that pose when she finally takes out Bec Noir. -HEIR OF GRIEF IS MY NEW FAVORITE MUSIC EVER HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED?!

He's out in the furthest ring, far away from the session. There's time travel, but he hasn't used time clones before, I'm not sure why he would start now. He's an incredibly formiddable threat, yes, but also a very localized one without someone to extend his influence. What can he do, right now, to pose a threat to the heroes in the session? And there's still nothing to stop John from just taking everyone into the blankspace if LE does show up in the session somehow.

OH SHIT, the Huss is still up to his old tricks kanayamaryams.tumblr.com/post/142334016254/spade-jack-heart-and-knight-a-cut-involving@melon I think the impetus would be for the kids to worry about finding Lord English. He seems to be the one holding the cards here. They are the challenges, and must find the one who is threatening them. I don't think LE particularly cares if they seed their new universe or not since he can destroy it on his own time. The Condesce was the one who wanted to dictate its creation and thus had to be eliminated at this point.
