A time machine, and a shitload of money. Still, that doesn't stop me from hoping for more PxS sometime. Hope springs eternal.

I dunno, I could MAYBE see it happening again depending on What Pumpkin Studios' financial success in the long-term through Hiveswap and Hauntswitch. From what I heard, the main reason Paradox Space stopped was the fact that from the start they wanted to pay all of the artists/writers fair wages, which is awesome... but that gets costly when you consider how long well-made comics take to produce, and that can only be financially viable for so long without enough of a revenue stream to make that happen, and it sounds like book sales and online advertising didn't really make it sustainable on its own. But PR silence aside, What Pumpkin does seem to value fan contributions to the Homestuck universe (as evidence by doing PXS in the first place, and stuff like the youtube channel wanting submissions) so I'm sure they'd LIKE to do it again. And once Hiveswap and Hauntswitch are released, there will be even more characters and settings to flesh out, so that could be really cool to see. I know I personally hope it comes back, since I missed out on the chance to contribute the first time around

Whaddyou mean, you can contribute? Are you connected to What Pumpkin or can fans openly do stuff with it?
I am a shit artist so I obviously don't qualify but you (memento) draw really well, i've read true colors. You would make a great comic!

What I mean is, when Paradox Space first started they asked for fans to apply to be artists, inkers, colorists, writers, etc for the comics, with fairly professional-level application and production standards. A lot of the people who made comics were already fairly well-known comic creators (KC Green, Zack Morrison, EK Weaver, etc etc) but I think some of the people were also just particularly good fan artists who applied and were accepted. A lot of those Paradox Space artists also went on to contribute art assets to Homestuck proper, like in the Game Over flash. I didn't apply at the time because I didn't really feel like my stuff was up to professional standards 2.5 years ago (I think True Colors was just getting started, and I was still figuring out the whole comic-making process), but if PXS were to come back now I'd probably at least apply. A lot of the Paradox Space artists have gone on to do some pretty cool things after the fact (their own comics, professional art, working on Hiveswap, etc) and it's cool to see how far they've come. One thing I've always liked about Hussie (and What Pumpkin) is the way they seem to actively try using Homestuck to help fledgeling artists get some really valuable experience and exposure.

I got to thinking. I wonder if the second part of The Inaugural Death of Mister Seven is already written.
If so, perhaps it could be made available for purchase as a digital PDF. Gunnerkrigg Court and The Order of the Stick are examples of web comics I can think of that are making extra-canon material available in such a way.
Though I doubt that the fair wage What Pumpkin would like to pay (to Jones, in this case) could be entirely covered by a 'par-for-the-course' price for this format. But maybe I'm wrong.

I certainly hope that it was already at least partially written. Otherwise it would have been really rude of him to leave us with an obvious cliff hanger. Unless he never intended to continue it, and it was a joke or something, but I doubt he would do that. Maybe someday Hussie himself will complete the story?

We finally got around to checking out the 2nd PXS book we'd ordered many months ago! We were only expecting the continuation of the Vrisky Business story, but to our surprise we saw there were 3 more original stories! A brief reaction to all of them: 1) The ForewordHaha, a continuation to The Foreword of the first book. I don't have much to say about this one, but I love how Andrew's got a nudeseum too just like Equius's in that storyline of The Night at the 100dseum. I liked the touch of Lord English having so many smutty drawings like Caliborn's. And I love all those references to different things in the hallway, like the Lil Cal clock, haha. It interests me how it ends on a cliffhanger, leaving room for a continuation in a hypothetical PXS Book 3. Which again reminds me of how much I'd like for PXS to return some day. 2) Shop Till You Drop Hey, a Jake-Erisolsprite-Roxy story! I always thought Jake-Erisolsprite and Jake-Roxy interactions were very interesting, so I definitely won't say no to more of that! Maybe a little over the top with that whole fraymotif mall thing and Roxy's reactions to Jake, but nonetheless very amusing. I like how Jake's adventure in those ruins was somewhat Indiana Jones-like, hehe. 3) FiduspawnMy personal favorite in this bunch! That was a very long one (17 pages if I'm not mistaken?), and featuring a bunch of characters going on an adventure of a decent length. And all of them had enough focus on them! All of that combined reminds me a lot of what I love so much about Summerteen Romance! With a touch of Night at the 100dseum like plainWonder suggested. Aradia, Tavros and Nepeta all having Moments of Awesome in this was my favorite part. The idea that the backside of Sollux's black shirt is entirely white is hilarious and I love it. Nepeta getting somewhat ashen feelings for Karkat and Sollux and getting angry about that was very funny. All in all, amazing job by the writer and the artist there! This is definitely up there as one of my favorite PXS stories in general. 4) Vrisky BusinessPffff, I was surprised to see that after the events that transpired in the 4-page preview, Vriska was actually still not down for the count. Goddamn she's got some stamina. xD That was one HELL of a mental breakdown she was having there. It reminds me of her flipping the fuck out when she wanted Tavros to kill her on her Quest Recuperacoon. I really like the way in which that entire rant was drawn. Man, I actually felt a bit sorry for her when she started ranting about Spidermom there. Oh Vriska, it never ceases to amaze me how you can make me feel so conflicted about you, haha. I never thought I'd see Aurthour being drawn in such a chibi way. xD Most of all, I love how Equius went so emotionless throughout the entire story, only to show a big smile near the end to show that he actually WAS excited about getting the chance to help her. That was pretty heartwarming. All in all, I'm really glad I bought the book! Especially Fiduspawn and Vrisky Business are some very great additions to Paradox Space.

I took up Paradox Space Book 2 today and read the new stories inside together with Blaperile. To our surprise, apart from Vrisky Business, the Foreword was also new, and a continuation of the previous Foreword even! As if Lord English established a 100dseum in Doc Scratch' apartment, hahah.
Gotta love all the details in the background, like the Gamzee statue and Jeff with half a horse suit.
Of that fanart LE was putting up, I wonder why he had a "mature" version of Feferi in his collection... Wait, that was probably a picture of the Condesce. Still, same question. Maybe he wanted to practice drawing someone in the same pose as the girl on the cover of that anime-drawing book.
For a moment there I thought they'd turn that horse statue into a Venus de Milhorse, hahah.
---
But the biggest surprise was that there were two full new stories!
I like the idea of Jake hammering Erisolsprite into joining him on wacky adventures, if only by virtue of his sprite powers "forcing" him to stay around to protect Jake to some extent. And even though the "mall" is of course not a canon place, it actually makes some sense that, apart from new clothes and weapons, the B2 kids would try to assemble as much fraymotifs as they could. It's the most powerful attack for non-god tiers, after all.
And then, an unexpected "Night at the Museum of Horrors"-esque story, but then featuring Fiduspawn! I really liked it. I had seen the unfamiliar troll on the cover, hadn't recognized them in-story, but it was only when reading the author blurbs at the end of the book that I realized it was apparently Incineraptor's author insert, hahah. Putting the TM sign behind random words is a very funny quirk. He's probably friends with (c) and (r)-quirked trolls, too, hahah!
In this story, we get a backstory about Fiduspawn, with the implication they use the bodies of lowblood trolls to mature in. That's probably a reference to the Alien franchise, come to think of it. And actually, I wouldn't put it past the fucked-up troll society. On Beforus, they were probably just grown from corpses or plushes, since Tavros implied they could do the latter, and just not grow as strong as they could start out as.
The plottwist that the aliens had escaped custody and started rampaging took me by surprise, but it fits the horror theme they were going for!
Aradia took charge of her friends, which gave her a chance to shine. I guess you could say Karkat's just not meant for exploration of unknown territory like she is, hah. (I had just meant to make this an in-story reason for Aradia taking charge instead of Karkat, future friendleader, but actually, he was so opposed to the puzzle-part of Sgrub, so it might not be that far from the truth!)
---
And then there was Vrisky Business. I hadn't expected Vriska getting back up once after losing consciousness. Nor did I expect her to lose it so completely, but actually, I think this gave a nice, much-needed insight into Vriska's reasons for continuing the circle of revenge. I would almost forget this can be counted as canon since Hussie wrote the story!
It seems Equius didn't really need much convincing to help Vriska, not even from Aurthour. He probably argumented it was good practice, and a good specimens to try his cyborg parts out on are hard to come by... But you just know deep down he also didn't want to lose his neighbour. (Plus, if Spidermom had not been kept in check, she might've come over for dinner!)
--- As for the sketches at the back of the book, I liked seeing the preparation that went into the bigger stories, as well as all the scrapped, unused, and maybe even uncalled for extra material. Like Barney Rubble in Lord English' coat. Can we call that "Calibarney"? Or what probably took place when Aradia tried to bring the Star of the Ocean to Feferi. Since it was probably to big to captchalogue (though I don't know the limit of Ouija Board Modus), she would have had to drag it all the way. I'm glad we bought the book to enjoy these extras!

I’ve never understood why PxS gets so much hate, sure it wasn’t a bunch of canon content and alt universes, but I enjoyed it just the same. Especially the Con-Fair comic, that one has to be a personal favorite of mine.
