I am not really a big Pokémon player, but I do know about them all these years thanks to the multiplied game releases, anime, movies, etc. I cam then to respect tons of different Generations that was feature in each installments but most of them weren't really my thing. But if you ask me which is my type? I will go with Grass type, and the funny thing about it is that I hate grass or nature in general. Why? Because their interesting design, abilities and names. They simply won my heart

I'd actually go with the metal type but their designs aren't all that appealing to me (i love robots)

I'd actually go with the metal type but their designs aren't all that appealing to me (i love robots) It bugs me to no end that it's "Steel Type" and not "Metal Type" or even "Iron Type", considering how outrageously rare naturally occurring refined steel would be. But yeah, Steel, Ghost, and Fire are my favorite types. Dragon and Fairy come close too.

The pastel colors that most fairy types tend to have aren't my thing. My favorites are Steel, Ghost and Psychic.

I just tend to use the Pokémon I find the coolest, or create an attachment to early in the game. Ass good as my Mandibuzz can be, and gives me access to fly, I have at least 2 stronger Pokémon in the PC, I have her in second spot cause I've given her a headcanon attitude and everything. Giving your early Pokémon personalities might be a bad idea at times, expecially in a Grass-starter run of Black 2. I do, however, have a preference for Fire, Dark, and Electric Type. Well, Dark is more of "somehow I have 3 Dark or Dark/ ? Pokémon in my team unintentionally."

I tend to prefer individual Pokes instead of Types as a whole as well, if only for the fact that if I tried to make a team of all one type I'd get rekt in online battles.
That said one of my favorite Pokemon of all time is Skarmory.

Hello! Rowlett goes look like Blathers. I'll never see Rowlett as anything but Bird Person from Rick and Morty after seeing this.

She's not strong, but her ability to support teammates is killer. As far as favorite types go, I'm partial to flying. A ton of myf favorite Pokemon are in it: Gyarados, Togekiss, Honchkrow, Gliscor, Mandibuzz, and many others. However, I think all of the types have their merits and their detractions.

In competitive Pokémon it is primarily there to use Toxic on things, and to defog. The other two moves are usually Roost and Foul Play, so that it's not Taunt bait (ie if it gets taunted its screwed). Clearing away hazards is super super useful, and Defig does that as of Generation 6. If you have a Charizard, a Talonflame or a Volcarona for instance, you're going to hate Stealth Rocks being up. Three layers of Spikes is terrible for basically everyone if Stealth Rock is up too. Toxic Spikes can be dangerous for Stall teams, which Mandibuzz is often a part of, but they're not great for attacking ones either outside of getting a free Guts boost. Sticky Web really messes with attacking teams too. So having a Hazard remover is a very useful support. Rapid Spin is usually better in my opinion, but Defog is also great, so Mandibuzz performs really well as a bulky support Pokémon. If using Toxic isn't your style, and you want some more guaranteed damage as well as a further support usage than Foul Play, Taunt and Knock Off are also great on a Mandibuzz.

Basically what captain said. Mandibuzz is one of the few Pokemon in the game that learns Defog and her strong defensive stats make her a good candidate to run that move, as I don't have to worry about bringing her in on Stealth Rocks. Defog does have the drawback of clearing any hazards on the opponents side of the field, which can be a problem if you have things like Spikes or Sticky Web on that side. Rapid Spin doesn't have that drawback, but it can also be prevented by Ghost-types. One a Flying-type team, Mandibuzz was invaluable, as most of my team would suffer if Stealth Rock was on the field.

Yooooo! Okay so there's a couple of people I watch on Youtube that do silly or off the wall competitive teams and post their videos on it almost daily. One of those guys is Verlisify, and every Friday he does a "Fan Fridays" where he takes the Battle Codes submitted by fans for his own review. On a whim last week I submitted my own team's Codes and what do I see when I get home today? My team is on the "Recently uploaded" section of Youtube's home page in a little thumbnail. Check out the battle here.

That's awesome Sigh! I'm not much of a battler, even though I have competitive battling knowledge. It's more like I do something for fun.

Anyone here plays the Pokemon Tower Defense games? They're no-download online games that are pretty nice. You can even trade your caught Pokemon with other trainers via a website.

There's the first one that takes place in Kanto, then the 2 with Johto, which is much more complete (free roaming, day and night, Pokemon from other regions once you complete the game, and a *cough* amazing story), and a third one in the making. What I love about these games is that, while they're creative and offer an interesting gameplay, the story arcs and writing are...yeah, let's just say the guy making them is more skilled at programming.
"That boy...he looks like me, but different...can it be...he's my son?"
No shit, dude. He's got your exact game sprite.
