I am still a player of TF2 despite some BS matches tonight.
I also started a group for the game called the Bird Squad. Is it bad I'm desperate for new members but I feel like I can't advertise anywhere?
EDIT: I meant the group for TF2, hahaha. I guess my wording was a bit vague, but I didn't want to put TF2 twice in one post, especially one as short as this.

I picked up a young adult novel in the dollar store a while back about a girl who wears gothy clothes, lives above a funeral home, and can see ghosts. When I first bought it I half expected it to be terrible, but it ended up being actually pretty good. The characters had more depth than you'd expect from a story that takes place in a high school and the "scary" parts were fairly well-written, I thought. The resolution was a bit cheesy but I think that was inevitable, unless the author had decided to give it a downer ending.
I wouldn't call it book of the year, but I'd give it an 8.5/10.

I've seen the Ratchet and Clank movie, and it was kinda good. I liked the references here and there, and even though I haven't played the first game (on which i guess most of the story is based on), it was good. I kinda really hope they make a second movie based on the second game, which I'm more familiar with; but it's fine if they don't. (plz give us Angela's backstory already she disappeared after that game and we've never seen her again save for a cameo in the third)

From what I've heard the reboot was so closely aligned with the original that seeing one gives you like, 90% of the other.

Wait, so the originals were rebooted? I never heard of that. Unless there has been a remastered version of the first games, I gotta check. but from what I've read on the wiki, the movie does take plot points from the first opus. I'm sure it added many things, but again I can't say.
I've played all main games save for the first one, and the Future trilogy isn't a reboot of the first games. If anything, it betters the classical gameplay mechanics and adds cool things and better stories.

I've never played Rachet and Clank (or any of the Playstation games--R&C was Playstation, right?), nor have I seen the movie. But I really don't plan on seeing the movie even if I did play the game, either original or remastered. The movie industry for the most part botches up movies based on video games because they don't care about researching for accuracy's sake.
Speaking of video game movies, apparently they're planning a Tetris movie. THAT WAS A JOKE DIRECTORS, YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY AND MAKE ONE. Yeah, I won't be seeing that one either. If the industry messed up movies of video games with a plot like Super Mario Brothers, what are they going to do with one with zero plot at all? And from the trailer, they're apparently going to make it Sci-Fi by making these Tetris blocks of doom fall from the sky and some gamer has to figure out a way to stop 'em.
Sounds like Pixels, actually. And we all know how that turned out.

The latest game and the movie are both a retelling of the first game.

The more I see about Pokemon Sun & Moon the more desperately I want to play them. For now I'm making do with replaying X with an entire team of pokemon that are eligible for sky battles. (except for Hawlucha, but I don't care, I've wanted to raise one for a while now.)
Flygon, Charizard, Crobat, Bronzor, Hawlucha, and Mantine. Mantine levels so slowly, I'm probably going to give up trying to keep it on everyone elses' level; I'm also not bothering with catching anything unless I run into a shiny or something since modern pokemon games count your pokedex as what you've seen, not what you own, so there's not really any point to doing so.

I don't think the movie has butchered the game's spirit. The soundtrack even like the game's ost, I'm not sure if this was intentional.
One of the other Playstation franchises I wish had been successful is Jak and Daxter. Everyone seems to have forgotten it, but it was cool indeed. (I played the first one and some of the second, each had their good points.) But the graphics were good, the universe was colorful, and each main zone had its perks. In the second one, however, it was much more dark and adult, and the difficulty of the last levels was freaky for young me. The story could have been better set, because towards the end of the second I remember it had became hecka confusing, something about time travel and whatnot. But yeah, it deserved better than a Daxter spinoff and a...racing game? (there was also a third game, but i never played it so i can't acknowledge its existence.)
As for Pokemon, this generation seems interesting. I'll just wait for the game to be released to see if I'll follow.

The more I watch the newer Spider-Man films, the more I hate them. It's just, aaauugghhh, Andrew Garfield's portrayal of Peter Parker is so douchey. I wince whenever he opens his mouth to spew out lukewarm wisecracks in between faltering mumbling.
Fuck you, Marc Webb. Sam Raimi far surpasses you in every way.

The problem a lot of people had with the movie was that it essentially just took all the cutscenes from the game it was sold alongside and slightly elongated them, then sold them for normal ticket prices in theaters. It's not a bad story by any means, but it was most definitely lazy and more than a bit of a cash grab.

The Spider-man 2 game on Playstation was fun. Although that damn balloon was so hard to catch, and half the time i forgot how to trigger spider sense.

A thing I loved to do in Jak II was to steal unattended flying vehicles and stack as many as I could on a low rooftop. They'd scratch and glitch collide with each other until they blew up and the authorities were called. It was fun.
Also, Steven Universe released five new shorts. They were fun. But a hiatus is a hiatus, even if there are rumors of another Stevenbomb before the end of the year. Also I wish they'd do a rerun of Over the Garden Wall.

A game called La-Mulana 2 I'm really excited about is coming out this Spring! For once a Kickstarter that had amazing communication with its fans and multiple alphas, AND the final product looks amazing.

I only regret watching the MLP season finale early because the last episode was generally underwhelming. I am a fan of colorful beetle pones, even if Thorax's beetle/deer stag antlers are a bit much.

I have the first game on Steam, tried playing it...didn't realise how hard it was. Might come back to it someday, might not, I'll have to see.

Honestly, it's a fantastic game, but some of the puzzles are just unfair. The way I see it, consulting guides and walkthroughs is like comparing archaeological notes. It makes the game a lot less frustrating.

I've been watching everyone play Sister Location, and while I'm ever so slightly disappointed that there seems to be a lot fewer easter eggs in comparison to previous games, the relatively radical shift in playstyle is very interesting and the way this game seems to tie everything together makes a lot of things suddenly make more sense. I'm eagerly awaiting to see if the theorycrafters on Youtube agree with what I've come up with as the general storyline of how things happened in the story's timeline.

Sister Location is definitely tied to the book, while also proving a possible connection to the core franchise. But it'd be better off as a separate timeline, because the core timeline of the four previous games is already bloated. (even for me who loves continuities and single timelines, it'd be completely fine). There are already a lot of theories sprouting here and there, with both perks and plotholes. The fanart is cute. But there's one theory I've come up with that I think makes the most sense. Under the spoiler, because honestly I think it ties everything together. Purple Guy is Exotic Butters. Mind-blowing indeed.

I've kind of left the FNAF fandom and had nothing more to do with it around when FNAF 4 came out. But this is sounding interesting, maybe I'll check out Markiplier playing it at some point.
Also, I have a feeling Exotic Butters will be the meme of October 2016.

So the Nintendo NX got revealed/properly named as the Nintendo Switch, confirming the whole "it's a console you can attach the controllers to the sides of and use as a mobile gaming platform", even literally in the middle of playing a game.
It has impressive third party support including Bethesda (Specifically showing Skyrim Remastered), From Software and so on, and generally has a strong focus on being both very portable and offering local multiplayer, both splitscreen and LAN type with multiple consoles. The screen portion can stand alone with the controllers detached to use either like two wiimotes or two seperate SNES controllers for aformentioned local multiplayer. It also has a more standard layout pro controller that doesn't separate.
