As the OP, I'd prefer if this thread didn't degenerate into an Internet argument. If I wanted to talk about how shitty a fandom is or how gross 4chan is I'd be on Tumblr, not here.

Okay! I'll try to change the topic!
Has anyone played Stardew Valley? I like it as it's so addicting and yet so relaxing.

Every now and then. Farming games aren't my thing, though. I mostly like the mining parts.

I mean, I do apologize for derailing this thread somewhat. But I'm not going to be called a hypocrite and just take it. :U (also I'm a salty motherfucker. If I were a salt mine I'd probably be the most productive in the world).
I've heard of Stardew Valley and it does sound fun. I remember watching my sister play Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing a lot and enjoying it (and trying to tell her "NO DO THIS! WAIT YOU MISSED SOMETHING!" xD). I'm not much of a gamer myself though - I literally downloaded Steam just to buy and play Undertale and it's still the only game I have there.
...if anyone can recommend any Undertale-esque games to me (besides the Mother series, which I plan on playing) I'd be eternally grateful.

Sawkinator I'm not going to hold any punches here, where do you get off saying that other people can't or shouldn't participate in their fandom of choice in any way, so long as that participation doesn't directly harm or affect others in some clear cut negative fashion? Not only do you shame men for indulging in their sexuality, but you also completely ignore the leagues of female artists that also engage in the creation of those pieces of work, at least two of which I personally know. (This is also completely ignoring the boatloads of saucy or even explicit material made of male characters, which you totally skip over)
On top of this you deign to say that somehow male fans are supposed to have "stolen" the show from the intended target audience, despite that not even being close to how things work in real life. As it turns out, here on the internet you can have many copies of the same thing, and people who enjoy something for completely different reasons can make the grown up decision to occupy different spaces online in celebration of that thing if those differences are really so bad that they don't want to have to deal with each other.
ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS you decide to offhandedly defend April, aka Pinkiepony, a girl who nearly got someone's husband DEPORTED for disagreeing with her about a blog which contained no explicit material whatsoever, and it becomes ever more clear to me that you're one of the most willfully ignorant people here. If you feel like you've been "driven" from any fandom I call home just because someone somewhere drew a horse vagina and you didn't control your own internet enough to ignore it, then I say good riddance you controlling fascist, we don't need you.
P.S. Also, that feminist that you idolized so much? Back in the early days of the brony community she would sporadically go to 4CHAN of all places to meet and greet with her fans, aka those "gross boys" you hate so much. And you know what? She had a great time, and they even sent her a giant signed digital poster thanking her for her visits!

Yeah I'm gonna have to pop in and put on the modhat real quick before I head to bed and firmly state that the complaining about fandoms has gotten thoroughly unpleasant for all involved. Please don't continue it. If you absolutely must rebuttle something, take it to PMs and be polite.
Stardew Valley and Paper Mario are both fun games; I kind of ran out of steam on the former right towards the end of my first winter because of Animal Crossing: New Leaf taking up all my motivation to tend to crops and stuff, and Thousand Year Door is one of my favorite games of all time.
The pastel horse show had a new episode come out today; I would have liked to see Discord involved in it myself, but it was still pretty enjoyable. I love how they keep including bits of off-model animation, because it also tends to look buttery-smooth as well.

off model animation is what makes it animation! if there was no on model shots the characters wouldn't ever move in unique positions

I've had a weird feeling of deja vu with Season 6, and I think I know why now. It feels like they're making episode versions of the Friends Forever format, where they just take two random characters (sometimes a new one, sometimes a recurring one) and throw them into a situation together where they wouldn't have done so in previous episodes. I for one am not opposed.

Okay so I gotta bring up Game of Thrones, because I TOTALLY KNEW THEY WERE GONNA DO THAT AS THE LAST SCENE BEFORE CUTTING TO CREDITS. Honestly the only really shocking part of tonight's episode was when Ramsey killed his father. I thought at first it was gonna be the other way around lol.

I never really watched Game of Thrones. My parents do, but they won't let me watch, probably because of supposedly inappropriate scenes.
The only thing I know about the show is Hodor, and that's just because of the Google Easter egg.

Yeah GoT is known for its unnecessary amounts of boob scenes and nudity, but it has really interesting characters and plot so that's why I like it. The bad stuff doesn't take away from the good stuff, for me at least.

My grandma got me the entireSage of Fire and Ice for Christmas. Haven't really started to read it yet, but i'll probably get to it over the summer. I wish I had more to say about media, but finals has been making media consumption kinda limited for me... I'm planning to see Captian America: Civil War this coming Saturday, so...that's a thing I cam looking foward to. I gues the only thing I am not looking foward to is the fact that there seems to be this precedence that you have to watch everything Marvel in order to see something like Captain America: Civil War. I haven't gotten a chance to see Age of Ultron or Ant-Man, yet, so I really hope I am not lost because I haven't seen those movies yet. EDIT: Here's something I can talk about. Rooster Teeth is releasing two new shows this month: RWBY Chibi and Red Vs Blue Season 14. I am going to be watching both of them. If only they didn't start during finals week .

The books are really good! Almost better than the show in fact. I've read the first two and a little over half of the third - they take quite a while to get through, though and I've taken some long breaks in reading them too, haha.

I anticipate that you would be extremely lost, at least until they dropped some exposition, if you tried watching Civil War without having seen the previous two movies. Probably only a little less lost than if you didn't see Winter Soldier first.

If there's any JonTron fans here, he released a new video! (YouTube DOES count as a media, right?)
Anyways, Game of Thrones sounds pretty awesome. But I guess I won't be able to watch it. From what I did see from the random clips, though, it looks kind of Roman.

Although it takes place in a fictional world. And it is pretty awesome, but definitely not for everyone I suppose!

I've gotten tired of fantasy/medieval stuff. Like, that's probably one of the most popular genres out there, it just got stale.

I've never been too keen on the prospect of GoT for much of the same reasons I don't feel the need to watch Breaking Bad or other, similarly dark shows: I'm way too much of an optimist to buy into the sheer level of negativity and pessimism those kinds of shows portray.
Having one character, or even an entire organization who has the philosophy of "life is meaningless and can end in an instant" is one thing, but when that becomes the basis for the entire show where literally anyone can die at any point for any reason, I then have 0 reasons to actually care about anyone. At least Attack on Titan has the decency to grant a LITTLE bit of plot armor to our main 3 protagonists, from what I hear GoT had a protagonist family that were killed within the first season.

I am a pessimistic individual. I have gone on a large rant about things ending at least once, but yeah there's some stuff that's literally "dude... holy shit... lighten up a bit"

I used to be a glass-half-empty type person. Even though I'm now glass-half-full, I don't mind dark pessimistic shows if they interest me.
