I got home today and found my old art notebook. I saw all of my old crappy MSpaint fanart and thought I'd reread homestuck for the memories. I can't believe it's almost been two years, it feels weird coming back here and reading my old posts. I used to come on here everyday and read every thread. I feel like i've changed a lot since then and it's bumming me out.

So I just started play Zelda: Breath of the Wild this past weekend and may have gotten a little hooked. I even stayed up so late on Sunday because of it that I had to take off work on Monday just to get some sleep...

While I was walking to work today, bird poop landed on my backpack's shoulder strap. Then, after I got to work, I accidentally brought down the company's network for about an hour and a half. It was not the best way to start a day.

Phew, that was a close one. On Saturday, I did a lot of stuff on my computer that I wanted to save, planning to back up my files on Sunday. Then I turned off my computer overnight like I always do and noticed it was applying updates. When I turned it back on and started logging in, it froze on a black screen with a small blank window in the corner labeled "Personal Settings (Not Responding)". Fortunately, I discovered ctrl-alt-delete still worked, but logging off and logging back in just left me stuck in the same situation. On a whim, I tried opening the task manager through ctrl-alt-delete and surprisingly, it worked. Trying to run exploere.exe didn't work, but then when I specifically went to alter the settings through one of the dropdown menus, suddenly it seemed that loading the setting options fixed whatever was causing the freeze and everything loaded normally. I was able to back up by files and my computer has been working fine since, but boy did that give me a scare.

Ok, that's just freaky. I finally got around to playing Doki Doki Literature Club today (or rather, I watched a playthrough of it). It wasn't until after finishing when I was looking up secrets from it that I discovered it was released exactly one year ago...

I've been running into a whole string of bad luck lately. It started two days ago before bed. Caught up in what I was watching, I ended up staying up later than planned. I usually account for that as I always "plan" to get to bed before actually necessary and can get to bed an hour late and still be fine, but I was pushing it by being up over an hour and a half late. I was just about to finish up when I accidently spilled orange soda all over my bed. It fortunately didn't get on my laptop, but it got all over my sheets, pillow, mattress, and even the clothes I was wearing. I went to wipe everything down and hang up the sheets and so on, and every time I thought I was finished, I found something else in need of cleaning: my nightstand, my computer mouse, my headphones... Then I went to shut down my computer for the night and saw it had updates to do. Ever since the event I posted about here on August 20, I like to do a restart rather than shutdown to ensure there's not any problems. Sure enough, the exact same thing happened, but I didn't remember exactly what I needed to do to fix it, so I had to fiddle with things again (I very well may have just had to wait for all the new settings to load considering it started working and I don't think I was the one to fix it, but, of course, I didn't know that). In the end, I ended up getting to bed over 3 hours past when I planned to go to bed, and had to set up on the floor so my mattress could dry. I couldn't even sleep in as, although my workplace doesn't mind if I get in late as long as I get the hours in, I had a meeting that morning. So I got to work really tired, and while there ended up spending hours looking into an issue only to find I made a brain fart and it wasn't even an issue. Furthermore, I got assigned to have to stay late today to have a meeting with someone experiencing an issue I know almost nothing about and am not sure what help I'll be. It didn't help that I noticed a sticky spot on my side where I somehow managed to miss I got soda on and never cleaned it off. Getting home, I went to get a bath to finally relax, only to find my apartment was low on hot water. Finally I said, 'screw it life, you're giving me this one,' and boiled some water in pots to dump into a mostly filled bathtub. Things have been mostly fine from then on, but I'm still really tired and still have that meeting to go to.

Ooof, really sorry to hear it man. Hope things turn around for you. Everyone gets days like that though, where you just get off on the wrong foot and the whole thing is just this huge awful mess. In my case, usually I just try to grit my teeth until it's over, and the next day is usually better, so hopefully that's the case for you too. All the same, sympathies offered, friend. u-u

Sometimes I feel like I get a really bad day every once in a while just to balance out the overall good luck I get throughout most of my life.

Today I tried to sign up for classes, but I got stopped up by a parking ticket. I paid the ticket, but the ban didn't lift in time and both the classes I wanted got taken. I'm probably going to have to go beg someone to be squeezed in on a technicality.
On the bright side, I and a pal have been doing some recording and will be starting up a youtube channel pretty soon, which I'm big excited about!
Happy new year, fellas

I'm feeling a bit frustrated right now. I just recently finished playing Okami, and, often with game I loved playing, I like to extend my enjoyment of the game by then watch blind let's plays of it. But for some reason, every blind let's play I've found so far is either:
A. Abandoned before they finished. B. Done by a really annoying let's player. Or C. Done by a frustratingly clueless let's player.
Or some combination of such. I've never had this much trouble finding a good blind let's play of a game before, so why am I having so much trouble with Okami?

I woke up this morning to the sound of a tornado alarm followed by roaring wind outside my window. Turned out to be a false alarm and just a bad storm, but it certainly woke me up better than my alarm clock ever could.

Ok, that was … unnerving. I went to Subway to get some lunch and found I parked not quite centered in the spot so I made a little adjustment. In doing so, I noticed a guy sitting in the parked car to my right looking right at me. I initially just figured he had recently parked himself and was waiting for me to get in place so he could safely get out. I finished parking and looked over to see the guy was just sitting there on his phone. Then, when getting out of my car, I realized the parked car to my left also had a guy in it on a cell phone. I left and got my lunch, then returned to my car and sure enough, the other two guys were still there, on their phones in their cars. I got in my car and left as quickly as casually possible and that was that. Now, I'm probably just being paranoid and it was nothing, just two guys who happened to be on their phones and one of them looked up at my admittedly somewhat awkward parking maneuver. It's not like I was in a bad area or anything and it would have been easy for anyone who happened to be in the parking lot to notice something happening, but I just had a bad feeling about the situation and can't help but wonder if the scenario would have been different if I had been a hot girl distracted by her purse or something...

Yeah idk it doesn't sound THAT sketch but I've been paranoid about similarly benign happenings. Sometimes you know more than you think, thanks to v i b e s. My day was good. I'm excited about Homestuck I'm hoping 2020 brings Homestuck back along with the emo scene thing people have been talking about (the RAWRing 20s so to speak) TW: Don't click the spoiler link unless you wanna read something gross Update to "How was my day": I haven't been able to defecate all day but I went to a diner and ordered two milkshakes, I'm lactose intolerant. Had the BIGGEST crap of my entire life like at least 5 Courics, it actually absorbed all the water in the bowl it was horrifying.

Arg! So I just got back from a trip to India on Saturday, and as both time to get over jet lag and with the excuse of my birthday, I decided to take Monday and Tuesday off of work too. But come Monday, I came to realize I might want even more days to get over jet lag, relax and settle in. But I realized, with the Coronavirus scare going on, I might actually be barred from going to work anyway; it was something I was going to ask about anyway. While obviously, the reason for this potential requirement wasn't the best, for me it could get me what I wanted, an excuse to take more days off work. And it turned out I was in luck: The UK was classified as a danger area, and since I had a layover in London on my way home, my workplace required me to stay home for two weeks. Now it did say I should work from home if possible, but my computer isn't set up to do so. I always hated the idea of setting it up because I didn't want to have to install a bunch of work stuff on my home computer and I always liked the idea of a surprise day off in the event I couldn't come to work for whatever reason. This was more than just a random day, of curse, so I had no excuse not to set up my computer, but I figured I'd have to bring my computer in to work to do so, putting me in a catch-22 in my favor. Of course, I couldn't admit to my boss this was my desire, so I asked him what I should do, and unfortunately discovered there was a way to download all I needed from online, but I'd need to have an ID card reader sent to me. Well, I figured I couldn't escape working from home, but at least I'd have a few extra days off as the reader arrived in the mail, which was all I was really hoping for in the first place. Then getting up today, I discover my boss had driven to my apartment and deposited the card reader in my mail area directly. So here I am, on the day I said I'd get back from work, with all the tools necessary to get my computer ready to work from home.
Darn it fate, is it too much to ask for there not to be a workaround to every problem I faced in being able to get back to work?! Heck I'd rather just have not had to quarantine myself at all, that way I'd not have to go through the frustrations of having to get my home computer all cluttered up with work stuff and most of all wouldn't have gotten my hopes up...
