Has anyone ever thought about how outrageously powerful someone could be if they had some of the technology seen in Homestuck(and actually utilised it effectively and sensibly)? Right off the bat, Soulbots is pretty much instant immortality as long as a reliable way to retrieve and transfer the soul from the original body exists. Then, with Cloning also being relatively easy, if you take the 'soul anchor' or whatever from Soulbot tech and put it in a clone instead, you could even have your own body back. Sylladexes are also ripe with potential. Although we've seen limits to their capacity, expanding them also seem to be very cheap, with no downsides and it's pretty conceivable for someone to carry around all their earthly possessions with them without burden and, as far as we've seen, absolute security. Combine that with some of the robotics/cybernetics we've seen, and anyone can be Inspector Gadget. Let's not forget Teleportation and Timetravel. Both processes are heavily associated with God Teirs, but we've clearly seen that machines can also perform these grand functions. Might as well integrate such devices into the super-cyborg we've got here. What about power, I hear you ask? Well, on this page Jade appears to have a nuclear reactor the size of a Roomba, so no issues there. Not to mention that we've seen Sburb machines that resize physical objects, so just keep cramming every possible asset you can think of in there, including a whole Sburb Alchemy setup so you can on-site make whatever gizmo you didn't have the foresight for until you needed it. (this also conveniently solves the problem where most sylladexes have size limits on what they can capture.) Speaking of that page I linked, Jade's fridge appears to be using sylladex tech itself, so sylladexes aren't just limited to actual sapient people, you could have devices that have their own inventories that they can use automatically. You could actually make a missile that deploys more missiles en-route. And lets not forget jetpacks, they certainly exist, seem to have decent miles-per-gallon, and are versatile/effective enough to work in a variety of forms. Add flight to the growing list of artificial powers. The best part is: None of these things seem outrageously expensive, a lot of this stuff seem to be available in consumer grade goods from Alternia, Crocker Corp or Skaianet. So in conclusion, anyone living in a post-Sburb society, such as Earth-C and is moderately wealthy could easily match, if not surpass a Stock God Tier in pretty much every way. Of course all of this could be applied to a God Tier in the first place, then we're hitting actually outragoues levels of power. EDIT: And I keep thinking of additional things. As seen with AR, computers; their size and power are far more advanced than what we have so you could easily have a J.A.R.V.I.S. type system with you to support and augment your innumerable abilities. We've seen the captcharoid camera that can make a sylladex ghost out of anything you take a picture of, and we've also seen a Pictionary modus where you can get a card ghost of anything as long as you have a decently good idea of what it looks like. Combining those with the onboard alchemy suite, and your inventory has virtually no limits.

Huh apparently mspa has been changed to homestuck.com? I think it's an interesting design. How does everybody else feel about this. I think I kind of liked it better as mspa since it still has all the other stories on the website.

Things are certainly strange. Haven't exactly combed through the new site or anything yet but gut reaction is... mixed.
Having things be exclusively Homestuck, with the other MSPAs sort of tucked away makes sense, I suppose, given that the whole thing seems to be trying to play off of how much Homestuck is The Big Internet Phenomenon (which... I'm not sure has been a thing for many years). It still feels off, but maybe that's just because it's new. Maybe this is truer to what the brand has been for a long time anyway- the older MSPAs are very much 'old archived stuff' at this point I suppose.
Not a fan of the randomized character intro screens on the landing page- I don't think it looks that great, but more than that it's inherently spoiler-filled in a way that I just think is really bizarre. It doesn't seem like a great way to sell the story to a new reader, while actively sabotaging some surprises for new readers. Especially since, let's be honest, what new reader isn't going to keep refreshing the page once they notice what's up to try and see everybody? I really feel like seeing the alpha kids will serve to confirm early that kid guardian session is going to be a thing long before the story gives more than hints at it. Meanwhile, content like the trolls actually being trolls is I guess just assumed to be incoming knowledge now? Or at least not a big deal to spoil. Even little stuff like what protagonists that you haven't seen yet look like reduces some of the speculation and mystery in the story- and could undercut the way that it always tries to build suspense for getting to see a new kid.
The whole 'look at the big colorful cast of characters!' thing as the first image chosen to associate with the story, combined with a disregard for late arrival spoilers, again seems like it fits better with the idea of Homestuck as this huge, wild Thing that it simply isn't- and even if it were, I don't think that's a good initial introduction for a possible new reader. Or maybe I'm overanalyzing a single design choice OH WELL.
The comic actually being formatted for mobile would definitely be neat though, and the better search feature is good stuff!

An additional thing to note is that mspaforums.com also redirects to the new Homestuck site.
I also agree that the random page thing is silly. But apparently, while most flash scenes simply show the Youtube version now, some of the interactables are now in HTML5, so that's a good thing and I hope they update all of them eventually. (Controversial opinion, I'm sure, but I absolutely would not mind if they George Lucas'd some of the Art Errors while they're at it.)
Hopefully this indicates that the Epilogue is coming soon. At the state the Fandom is currently in(i.e. dying embers) you wouldn't overhaul the site like this unless you're expecting an influx of new traffic. Though such an influx might just be from Viz Media's upcoming books.

I apparently wrote to soon. The other stories are under the read tab.Yeah, so far the only gripe I have had with the new design is the random characters popping up on the home page.
I also agree with you obsidalicious. I really hope they fix some of the janky art while they convert the files.
As for the epilogue, I hope it does come soon along with some announcements for hiveswap. Been hearing some rumours that the whatpumpkin teams have been let go recently and hoping that it is not true. However James had confirmed he was let go, but not sure of the others and Hussie hasn't commented at all about any of these rumours.
EDIT: Maybe it's not a rumour. Just saw bandit post that Shelby and Cohen are looking for work. What the hell is going on?

Huh, I really don't like this change. Changing it to homestuck.com and hiding away the other stories is understandable, but it's a bit unintuitive that the list of stories are under the "read" link. "Read" implies "read Homestuck;" they should be under a link labeled "past adventures" or something. Not to mention there's nothing on the site really explaining to new readers that these are past stories created before Homestuck; at the very least there should be a brief mention of them in the info page. Also there's no real way to get to the archives aside from going through the aforementioned "read" link (well and the info page, but the info page seems more set up like a FAQ; not where you want to go for the archives). And I guess taking the news off the main page is good for an aesthetic choice, but it does tend to hide away the news making it easier to miss new entries. And speaking of aesthetics, I realize it's going for mobile compatibility, but in a browser, having everything squeezed into the middle with a bunch of wasted space on the sides doesn't look that great. Then there's how it shows the character intro pages on the main page, which has already been discussed. Finally, if what obsidalicious said is true, I don't like it. Not the potential for George Lucas fixes, I wouldn't mind that, but the using of YouTube versions for the flashes. I didn't like the idea of using YouTube from the beginning, it just comes off to as having something that should be an independent site relying on another site to work, even if it is something as reliable as YouTube (and that's not even going into my complaints about how YouTube is managed).

Hi everyone happy 4/13!!!!!!! Wow, 9 years since Homestuck started. That's pretty crazy to think about! So obviously I caught wind about the site change, which is ALSO pretty crazy. For some reason, it inspired me to reread the comic. The whole thing. And I actually did it! I started on about 4/2 or 4/3, when I learned about it. I think I probably just started clicking through pages, seeing what it looked like. And then I kind of just. Wanted to keep going. All the way to the end??? Then along the way I thought it would be cool to catch up by 4/13. Especially because as I kept going, I started putting other stuff on the back burner. And that was all going to need to be caught up on too!! Progress was slow some days, but I had a big gap of open time the last three days that I did most of the work on. I think I cleared from Act 5 to A6A3 on the 11th, and from there to the end of the comic reading all day long yesterday. I obviously had the advantage of having read it all before to absorb it very quickly, and kind of just kept pushing myself even if I hadn't fully digested each page before moving on, skimming a bit here and there! Even so, I like to think I did my own insane reading pace proud, set some sort of noteworthy record there. Not like, number one fastest of all. But up there in the books. Anyway I think even though that definitely wasn't the best way to fully relearn the story (though it was an interesting and ultimately fun experience nonetheless even if I did kind of force myself through it sometimes), it was definitely a good way to very quickly get acquainted with the new site. I think, especially having done a bit of poking around here and there, I can pretty safely determine that much of the site was ported over automatically, because certain things were kept intact that I think might not have been were it done manually by a human, page by page. Though obviously certain things were looked over and redone, most obviously regarding [S] pages. I also agree that the random page thing is silly. But apparently, while most flash scenes simply show the Youtube version now, some of the interactables are now in HTML5, so that's a good thing and I hope they update all of them eventually. (Controversial opinion, I'm sure, but I absolutely would not mind if they George Lucas'd some of the Art Errors while they're at it.) I'm of mixed minds about it, but for one reason or another I've really loosened up about the presentation of the comic. The whole thing is pretty un-ideal to begin with. Nobody is really prepared to argue that a schizophrenic barrage of panels which are sometimes accompanied with cinematic auditory elements and sometimes appended with lengthy textual scripts is any kind of "good" way to tell a story, but Homestuck has never been particularly bothered by how the best way to tell its story was. Even if a lot of the immersion is sort of botched now, the message it conveys and the emotion of its story is still intact. So I really don't care at all about its flaws. They barely make a difference at all. That said, IF whatever Viz-spawned team maintaining the new site is actually motivated to alter the site in the name of best preserving it for future readers, I wouldn't mind seeing changes over time toward that end. I was kind of hoping the book editions would sort of represent something approximating an idealized endgame version of that. Maybe capturing an approximation of its "final" state, after whatever retcons and changes have been put in place. But I think that might not be the case, and the books will still be a product of their time. But that's still not that big a deal. Anyway, it looks like for me the majority of the flashes were intact, because obviously my computer still has Flash, so I didn't see most of the videos. But I think html5 elements or whatever those run on are how I see them, and maybe how they are for everyone, permanently. This goes toward most of the [S] elements up to Act 2, and a handful of interactive pages sprinkled throughout the comic, but especially towards the end, I think. Flash has a sort of iconic look to it that I think was pretty copasetic with Homestuck's look. If they could in some way improve how the html5 pages look and work (I noticed pretty bad syncing issues), I wouldn't mind at all replacing them all that way. But I have no idea how the technology works, or even if how I saw them on my computer is how they look across all devices. I think I'd like to poke around a bit on my actual smartphone, see how it holds up there. If that gets good enough, it would actually be cool to see if maybe Collide, Act 7, and the Credits page could actually be made imbedded into the site instead of youtube videos. Just kind of tossing that idea out there. I could probably go on more about this but I've really rambled enough about one pointless topic for one post. I can't personally imagine a reason to see the Epilogue coming any time soon. I'd be pleasantly surprised if so, but I'm not counting on it. I think the whole site change has to due with the release of the book, maybe getting things ready for a potential new generation of readers lured in to the site from there. One idea I thought might be kind of neat is if the epilogue is announced or maybe released first through the news of its book edition, after all the other volumes are put out, years from now. And then, whatever other, most likely digital form it would take, would manifest at that time. I don't know if that's particularly likely though. I imagine the epilogue would take shape under some sort of volition related to the engine of its own storytelling, sort of like those storybits told through snapchat, both in and out of the comic. Speaking of the state of the fandom, maybe it's because I relentlessly immerse myself in chatter about it, I can't help thinking the fandom is still alive and strong, in its own way. Certainly not an inescapable force for the rest of the internet to contend with, or centralized in any capacity. But they're always around, invisible, but present to make noise when Homestuck related news occurs. Sort of like... the whole fandom is Voidbound, dontcha think? Hahaha. I dunno. I used to think this place was sort of like the main hub where Homestucks new and old could hang out and chat. But it certainly never got anywhere near that popular. It seems much more like the place where the old grampas hang out. Wishing things could be like they were before and wondering if new changes are good or bad. Okay wow this post is enormous I should probably wrap this up and head to bed I have to be up early tomorrow anyway. Maybe I'll just leave this one last, sort of worrying thing I just saw, and come back tomorrow. Goodnight, all, and happy birthday John Egbert, Jane Crocker, and also everybody else in Homestuck. whatpumpkinstore.com/

The new book has the arm retcons put in (mostly) but the oil retcons weren't for some reason. I'm sure that'll get fixed for later books/printings.

Having now received my copy I can back whitehelm's assertion, indeed the arm retcons have been added in, but that's about all. As expected from the previews available online, the book is essentially the first two books released back during Act 6 collected in one volume. The formatting and Author notes are all almost exactly identical, with a few changes here and there to be more relevant to this book and current timeframe, and a couple new bells and whistles to bookend the, uhh... book. And yes, I did compare them both page by page, and on homestuck.com as well
Like I said, I was kind of hoping this book wouldn't be essentially outdated right out the gate, not being its "final version" like I would've wanted. I suppose future printings could fix this, but that's very different when you're buying a whole new edition of a book, versus something like updating the website. Even so, I stand by what I rambled on and on about the last time, and it's not really all that big a deal. It is still cool getting the story in physical form (again) and in hardcover, and the notes can still be insightful and fascinating. A lot of them I had half forgotten or even fully forgotten. I really should read through the book(s) more often and keep that stuff fresher in my mind.
Anyway I'm still really excited for Volume 2 with its whole new chapter with all new author notes, and then hopefully not very long after that, more volumes starting to get into the thick of things. My anticipation might have something to do with the fact that it will be the most we'll have heard from Andrew directly in years. Or at least, talking about Homestuck anyway.

Taking a look around, I happened to have noticed that the next Homestuck book is starting to show up for preorder in a few places, none with preview images just yet, but all aiming for a release date this October. At least one specifies 10/25, I believe. Amusingly, some of them refer to the full title as "Homestuck: Book 3: Act 4: Book 3: Act 4" which I can only imagine is probably some sort of mistake but is still funny. Actually, this is kind of how was I hoping and expecting it would go. Before Book 1 released, we got the preview for Book 2. Now that Book 2 is due to come out (relatively) soon, Book 3 is starting to encroach on the horizon. Hopefully it continues like that, with each that comes out the next lines up for preorder down the line, keeping a pretty nice pace for once. They're going about once every 3 months if this pattern holds, which means about 4 books per year for probably about three years until it's all out. IF, IF that all unfolds just as I say... well, it's a little mind bending to think about like that in the grand scale. I'm looking forward to all those author notes. TTuTT

Part of me can't believe this slipped my notice, but at the same time I really don't go around hunting for any scrap of information I can like I used to. A few days ago it looks like Andrew Hussie did an interview for Barnes & Noble? It's pretty short but sweet, I think. It's nice to actually hear him talk and like, crack jokes and stuff. Feels like we haven't gotten that from him in years.

I think how the site was set up was a part of Homestuck's charm. It was a bit of a cluttered mess compared to the new layout, but so is Homestuck. It's kinda like how Hussie updated the comic through a god damn forum. Like, that's some of the dumbest, craziest shit. But of course, Mr. Andrew "Has a degree in Computer Science" Hussie would do that. I'm also gonna miss shit like Caliborn scribbling over the Ads during his MASTERPIECE.
Also, I think the old site was just easier to use. You could jump to any adventure from any comic and access the log easier. Especially now that I'm switching between my phone and my Desktop to read Problem Sleuth. You also didn't have to check the News page. It was right there. You'd see it if it was updated.
I guess there's the test_index site, so I'm pretty much bitching over little to nothing like a little baby who poops his pants

Eh. It's not really ideal, since after all Homestuck was designed pretty specifically to exist in one state. It was never going to be adapted without some sacrifice, but it's a story worth adapting for the sake of longevity. When people are still reading the story for the first time years from now, it'll make the little things feel as insignificant as they really are.
I was gonna say, as a personal gripe, I didn't really like the new search function. I'd only used it a handful of times and thought you couldn't just scan through the whole comic, but it looks like if you put in something like "Homestuck" it will return every single page of the comic and then some. So that, combined with the fact you can search for any term you want, actually makes it a significant upgrade to MSPA's "search" feature.
Some stuff is different, but I don't think it's worse. Plus, now it's mobile friendly. The flash conversion has been the obvious ugly monster to contend with, but the thing about the medium is that, if a better hosting solution becomes apparent, we'll adapt to that.
EDIT: I think this was my 666th post? Hmm... maybe that's why I was being a... devil's advocate??? Yeah I got nothing

I have to agree that at least Homestuck won't be lost to the ever-changing landscape of the internet and that people years from now will be able to read it without half of the panels broken. But I'm still gonna pray to the god for one little thing: Plz I all I want to do is go to the log from the story itself.

Man, I can't believe I didn't post anything here for 6/12 aaaaaaaa! That day I was scanning around looking for any news or announcements. Not that I was expecting anything huge, and as expected, towards the end of the day I think, FFBF did a big sale on their items, so now's a good time to peruse and see if anything you like is cheap. And that was about it, but one thing I found was an interview of sorts from a couple months ago, something I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. Then again, I really don't go out of my way on the hunt for HS news. Maybe I should again... Anyway, here's the link. It's some pretty typical fare, all in all. It's just nice to see Andrew talking about the comic and stuff fondly. There are a couple things I think are worth mentioning though. Hobos like me, and I'm sure plenty of you, are excited by this little teaser about the books. "People are going to study things that are complicated. There's a lot to explore. The ‘answers’ are all in the books. But there will be a lot of books. It'll take a while to get them out. So the scholars out there agitated for all the answers will just have to wait." Luckily, as long as they stay on schedule (big ask come to think of it), they won't take THAT long to come out. About three years to get the whole story out, assuming my predictions are right. That's maybe a bit of a wait to some, but really that's about every three months for NEW commentary as the story continues to unfold and expand in complexity. It's going to be a lot of fun. Of other note is something related to Hiveswap, and even though it probably doesn't count, I'll go ahead and put it under a spoiler anyway just to be safe. For brevity I won't make two posts, but if anyone wants to comment about it, I would personally recommend taking it to the appropriate thread. "The first game was just Act 1. The Homestuck tradition is for the first act to feel pretty tame, and for things to get pretty wild after that. We'll see if that pattern holds."

Book news! The second book is due to drop in about four days, covering Act 3 and the Intermission. The Act 3 part, judging from the previews, will be just about identical to its release in the soft cover run, so the Intermission is when we'll be getting into unreleased commentary territory. Preorder links for Book 3, which will cover Act 4 and release October 25, have been up here and there for a while. Recently, within the past few days or so, images for the cover have appeared! It looks like this.Related to that, this big banner was/is up at Viz's booth at AnimeExpo which looks a lot like the cover, with extra bits. Personally, I'm betting a lot of that stuff on the upper half will be on the back cover of the book. To go along with this, sites now have pages for Book 4, which somewhat unsurprisingly will cover Act 5 Act 1, and looks to release on February 12 next year, which mostly keeps pace with the 3.5 month release schedule. Very much surprisingly, however, a couple places also have a page for Book 5 already! The release date seems to be June 12 next year. I haven't noticed a page count yet, but I personally highly doubt they'll cover all of Act 5 Act 2 in a single book. That would easily be more than twice the size of any other volume to come before it. Which reminds me, a couple weeks ago or so I decided to make a guess at how the book series is going to break down. It's pretty easy to extrapolate how much content goes into a book from the first couple examples, especially when you compare it to this visual log I put together. Though, that only shows for individual pages, and doesn't really account for things like increasingly elaborate and prolific animations, swelling pesterlog excerpts, and the walkaround segments sprinkled about. Even so, to me the most likely breakdown of books seems to be: Book 1: Act 1 & Act 2 Book 2: Act 3 & Intermission Book 3: Act 4 Book 4: Act 5 Act 1 Book 5: Act 5 Act 2 (Part 1) Book 6: Act 5 Act 2 (Part 2) Book 7: A6A1, A6I1, A6A2, & A6I2 Book 8: A6A3, A6I3, A6A4, & A6I4 Book 9: A6A5 & A6I5 Book 10: A6A6A1, A6A6I1, A6A6A2, & A6A6I2 Book 11: A6A6A3, A6A6I3, A6A6A4, & A6A6I4 Book 12: A6A6A5, A6A6I5, A6A6A6, & Act 7 Figuring out where would be best to split Act 5 is pretty tricky without making one side or the other too lopsided, or just pausing on a weird cliffhanger. My best guess was right about here, right when horrorstuck kicks off, which... is still a pretty horrible cliffhanger, but it's the best I got. Anyway, what do you all think? EDIT: More book news! I got my hands on Book 2! I realized that the nearest book store to me I knew would carry it would likely have copies already, so I decided to go there and see after checking online. They weren't stocked on the shelves, but someone was willing to get me a copy from the back room, so that was cool. Naturally, for the most part the Act 3 part is nearly identical to the soft-cover printing. The only noteworthy change I saw was additional commentary added on to the original acknowledging the Bill Cosby stuff. It was really exciting getting to the Intermission and to the never-before-seen commentary. Since I'm just an awful tease, I won't say much about it at all, but I will confirm it almost surely must have been written relatively recently, after the end of the comic. I'm looking forward to maybe hearing people's thoughts about it?

Ultra late to the party but I finally found a chance to re-read like the bulk of Act 6 and finally read the end of Homestuck. I'm surprised at how planned out the ending was. Like I know everyone has a lot of issues with it, but I always thought Hamstrake's ending was gonna be some insane tar baby so I liked it. It was actually a pretty straightforward "go back in time and do one small thing that fixes everything" trope, which was a nice change of pace from the constantly unravelling threads that characterize Homiestick.
Anyway lmao it was pretty fun finally getting to finish it. More meaningful than I thought it would be.

I still find it pretty cool to hear about perspective and opinions about Homestuck's ending, especially now well after the fact, without the same level of hype that was behind it. Being so unexpected and controversial, it tends to bring out some pretty interesting ideas I'd never really considered before, such as yours. Also, this kind of goes to show how reading it all in one go (like I once had a hope of doing before things went the way they did) shapes it as well. I think to a lot of people (at least around here) the ending pretty much means Collide and Act 7, but to you it seems the whole retcon business is part of that as well. It all just kind of flows much more cohesively when you aren't being dripfed day-by-day, does it not? Anywho, I actually came here to share something a little interesting I discovered. I heard a rumor that some shops are already starting to put Homestuck Book 3 on their shelves, and I couldn't help but go investigate at my local bookstore (which is over in the next town about 40 minutes away because I live in a crappy town). While it didn't end up being the case for me (And I haven't yet seen any confirmation of this yet), while doing research I discovered some sites now have entries for not only Book 4, but Book 5 as well. Barnes and Noble have them, as does Amazon. Viz doesn't seem to have either as of yet. About Book 4: Book 4, as I expected, will contain Act 5 Act 1. That's a pretty obvious guess, though. It is supposed to come out on February 12, 2019, and will be 480 pages long. The blurb for it is:
"Twelve trolls start playing a game. Their extensive and convoluted journey will involve extreme role playing, dreadful cinema, emotional theatrics and romantic intrigue, dou8lecrossings and backsta88ery, payback scenarios, mIrAcLeS, a levitating ghostly amphibian, and the troll disease called friendship." About Book 5: Less is known about this one. I haven't seen a page count or a blurb for it. The title says Act 5 Act 2, but because that's so large I highly doubt the entire thing can come out on one book.
This one will come out June 12, 2019. I notice this marks a change from the first three releases, which came out about every three months, from April, to July, to October, which would be about 4 a year. But the pattern of these seems to be every four months instead, from October, to February, to June. I suppose this isn't totally surprising, because now we're getting well past the material that was already designed for print, plus the comic in general is really starting to pick steam in its complexity. Maybe it's taking longer for Andrew to come up with page commentary? Oh well. If this keeps up, now it'll be about 3 books a year instead of 4. Which I guess, since we started well into the year, is how it's... always been? Well, whatever. Anyway, all this isn't to get ahead of myself. Doesn't do good to start getting excited about books that aren't even coming out this year, or even have cover images yet. It's still about two weeks away, but soon Book 3 will be in my hands, and that's gonna be pretty damn sweet. I'll definitely have more to share then. EDIT: So I wrote all this then I scrolled up to read my last post and noticed that none of this is news at all. Whoops.

Guess who got Homestuck Book 3 about a week early? e ue
I will not say too much at this time, but I was irrationally giddy to share a fact confirmed in the commentary here. See, Andrew reveals that the baubels adorning the scepters of the White and Black Kings is, in fact, an actual, genuine, literal instantiation of Skaia, and something which goes into it will be entering the real, actual Skaia itself.
When I read this I was instantly reminded of getting into arguments when that update came out shortly before the gigapause, where I think a scepterfork Jane alchemized fell into a pool of lava, and it showed the lava falling into the orb and raining down as if in the real Skaia. I was among those who believed this meant the actual, literal Skaia of their session was getting lavaflooded because of this (tho I think this is never revisited so it's never proven one way or the other), but many denied this, and I was either talked out of it, or just grew too frustrated to keep it up. I honestly can't remember, but if it was at the time, I guess it must have been on the original MSPA forums.
It's pretty silly that I was so legitimately excited to be vindicated about this after the fact. I'm so awful.
Anyway, there's a lot of other great stuff in this book. It's really great. Maybe we can talk about it more???

Hussie apparently forgot while writing the author notes that AR gets exiled on the ectobiology lab meteor, not the frog temple. This is probably because for some reason the epilogue section got bumped to the A5A1 book? That makes no sense.

In total fairnes, if you're referring to the quote I think you are, he says "we can deduce" that AR got stuck in the Frog Temple because the reckoning was about to happen. But also in fairness, he did forget about other things, from minor details to certain jokes he unwittingly re-tells, to details similar in size to this one, so it could go either way. And yeah, I avoided mentioning, but that's kind of the big thing in this book. Looks like the epilogue technically "in between" act 4 and 5 has been excluded from this book, and I guess will be starting the next one. In a way, that makes the fact that the whole thing will be about trolls even funnier, since the book will be frontloaded with what is, in my humble opinion, some of the best content in the entire story, only to then not touch on any of it for the remaining several hundred pages. Plus, it'll flow better than if the next book's first page literally just introduces Karkat with no run-up, since the character won't have anything to do with the current flow of events until the end of the book. Also, this way there won't be two recaps in one book. Oh, totally unrelated, but another thing he says that I get a lot of enjoyment out of is him confirming that the Skaia on the end of the black and white Kings' scepters is the real, literal Skaia, a tiny instantiation of it that things can actually go through, which is satisfying to me. I seem to recall getting into debates about that back on the old forums one time. Anyway, I saw this recently and thought I should post it here. It's a fairly brief interview Andrew did with the Washington Post, interestingly enough. Mostly talking about what it was like making Homestuck, how its themes helped it turn into kind of this whole phenomenon, and looking back on it all as he comments on it for the books. He also briefly touches on the ending, which I think is the first time he's spoken a word about it since it came out. So that's kind of interesting.
