Yes. Yes it is. I'm amazed as to how people don't know about this, but this is what happened to the Homestuck dub: 1) CoLab, the dubbers, remained inactive for a year. 2) Some editors took over the channel and made it an immature, idiotic freak of a video game channel. 3) The normal people, aka the people who still dubbed Homestuck, moved over to VOXUS. Check 'em out. 4) All of the VAs remained, but many editors left, however, this is not a problem, as editing styles (unlike voices) can be replicated quite easily. 5) Now, they're reuploading the series daily. Once the series reaches it's "last" episode, the one we were left at, in a couple months, they will continue with Openbound. 6) While the Openbound dub is confirmed, they are unsure as to if they will continue after. 7) Please shower them with support, we all want the dub to continue, and let's let them know. They are generous people, and we want to thank them back, right? 8) Tired of the daily uploads? Want to read all of it? YouTube search: "homestuck playlist". The playlist of all 100+ (i think) videos will come up in YouTube, and you can watch the videos that are still not uploading due to YOUTUBE MAJIKZ. Hope I helped some people. Do not lose faith. Go to VOXUS. Let them know they're amazing people. And maybe, just maybe, they'll continue after Openbound. Good luck. |

I don't even remotely understand who thought it would be a good idea to take over the original Let's Read Homestuck channel and turn it into a completely unrelated video game channel. I'm pretty sure there was some sort of issue regarding ownership with the channel, and this was the best deal the group could come up with?

cookiefonster I think it was Dave and Hussie's self-insert VA who did it, since they mention having to replace him and the kids' narrator on their tumlbr. Which is still weird, since you can transfer a Youtube Channel (and you can convert a personal channel in a G+ channel to transfer it). I seriously hope that they continue the Let's Read. Their voices are most of the time the headcanon voices for each character. One thing that I'm sad that got lost is their (incomplete) Problem Sleuth let's read, since that one was made by the VAs that left Voxus, so they can't transfer it, and the videos of that one are set to private so we can't watch tem.

I just think it's an incredibly sketchy move to reappropriate a subscriberbase that clearly subbed to the original channel for a different type of content than the original channel is currently putting out. They should just have created a new channel (which is very easy nowadays) and amassed subs the normal way. The real thing that pisses me off about the rebranding is that while CoLabHQ when they still had their channel, they had ~100.000 subscribers (which is a fair amount of subs for a good YouTube channel). Now they have a tenth of that amount, while the Big D-Pad still has ~66.000 subs at the time of writing. They effectively stole CoLabHQ's subs. Also, they keep losing subs, with them losing ~15 a day in the last two weeks. |

I unsubscribed immediately after it became a gaming channel. I also checked out Voxus but according to their page video they are not even sure if they will continue with let's read homestuck after openbound. I'll check up on them every once in awhile, and hope things go well for them but for me it is wait and see.

I personally hope they continue with the series. It has very good voice acting, and gave some small edits that help the story make more sense. the only qualm i had with the series initially was Kanaya's voice; it sounds too much like a vampire's, at least at first. Once the story becomes more emotionally charged, the tones Kanaya's actor uses more than make up for my first impressions.

That means they are on YouTube, which is why you can see the full playlist by Voxus, but they don't show up on their channel. They're listing them every day so you can see them on the channel because they don't want to overwhelm their subscribers. Also, Openbound Part 1 will be uploaded once it's finished, regardless of the daily videos. The voice acting for Part 1 is done and they're trying to finish editing it together, but editing has been freaking cursed. They also have a tumblr with more information. |

Y'know, there's a lot of stuff you would miss if you were to only use the act playlists. There are two other playlists with lots more content. Here are a few I personally enjoyed: Finally there's the bonus content: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHO1rc05qiGuP-rDGx5cqlr2triAH2ql- , which contains the aforementioned April Fools video amongst readings of some fancomics and other April Fools videos. Also Descend, sung a capella by Tavros' voice actor. Definetly worth checking out. On my first listening I only used the big playlist that just contained all the videos. So I missed out on a lot of stuff that you would probably have seen otherwise (or not if you navigated using YouTube's suggestions). So if you had that same issue, those things are definetly worth checking out. |
