Your name is ORION. Currently, you are on an COLONY PLANET, one of many that Novescala, your home world, has made. This is your first time visiting this particular colony. You came here on IMPORTANT BUSINESS with one of your two older sisters, and you were excited to come and learn the family business. However, your sister decided to reject your participation in said business and left you to wander the colony on your own. Which brought you to your current PROBLEM. As said earlier, you've never been to this planet before and don't know your way around. You wandered around without paying any attention to what was going on, lost in your own thoughts, and when you came to, you had no idea where you were or how to get back to the town. In short, you're completely lost. On an alien planet. Just great. Your sister is going to murder you when you get back. Edit from the future: I promise you that the art improves a little further in the comic

>How the hell did you even manage to get that lost ?
This actually happens a lot. You have nothing to do so you start walking, and then you start thinking, so you stop paying attention to where you’re going or what’s going on around you. Once on a different planet, while your mother and sisters were in a meeting, you got bored and wandered while your mind drifted away to fantasies. When you came back to reality you had wandered onto a ship and almost sailed to some volcanic island.
>Do you have some cellphone/comnicaor/telephtcink, whatever it is your people use to communiate between each ohers ?
Of course you do! Who doesn't have a cell phone in this age? You just open up the contact app, ignoring how very few contacts you have and find the right one. Hopefully your sister won’t be to mad-
Wait, no. No service. You’d think that with intergalactic space travel, the highest of high tech, and all that junk, we’d be able to have better cell towers.
>Okay, so that clony itsef is a town, rght ? mMybe try climbing a tree and see if you can in which find direction there’s light ro whcheve pah you came from ?
With not many other options before you, you climb the sturdiest looking tree you found around you and start looking for something of a path. You found one between the trees, and you also can see a faint red light from farther down. There’s an odd creaking and groaning noise coming from that direction too.

Probably for the best. Who knows what lurks in the woods. You sure don’t because you chose to sleep on the trip to this planet rather than do any research on the local fauna. You really don’t want to die today, so walking the other way sounds good. So you get down and start walking.
?: …help…
You just barely catch the plead and turn around to face the light once more. It’s faint, weak, could have easily been the wind against the trees. You want to keep walking, but you linger in your spot just in case, listening for the sound once more.
?: Some…one… help… ?: Please...
Definitely not the wind. Your chest gives a hard clench and just, you curse your soft heart. If someone’s in trouble, what kind of person would you be to just abandon them? You can't help but shake a churning feeling in the bottom of your gut, what is this, guilt? You certainly feel guilty now that someone is pleading for help.

You open up your inventory and you don’t really have a whole lot of things in there. You hadn’t expected to be thrust into an adventure when you came to this colony.
Your inventory is split into three parts; MAGIC, EQUIPPED, and the actual INVENTORY. Currently your INVENTORY is empty, but you might fill it up with things you come across. The only thing you have EQUIPPED is your trusty RED CLOAK (+5 Defense. Fashionable. Home-made with love). In your MAGIC, you only have two spells; FIRE (5 Damage + Burning Damage on Some Enemies) and ICE (5 Damage)
MAGIC is something everyone from Novescala can perform. Well there’s a scientific reason for why your people can do these things, but no one has time for a boring sciencey lecture, so everyone just calls it magic. You’re currently still learning, hence why you only know two spells. You hope to master so many more.
But you understand that you are woefully unprepared if you have to fight, you'll have to rely on your magic if you run into any confrontations. While you trust your abilities in your spells, you're hoping you won't have to use them.
The forest is pretty dark. Maybe you could use your spells to light the way? It’s not as though you have any other sort of light, and your eyes aren’t of the see-in-the-dark variety.

> You mentioned there's light where you're going, and you can apparently see well enough to navigate given what you've been doing, so it's best to stay dark and not draw attention to yourself.
Smart, smart. You have no idea what’s lurking in around these trees, the last thing you want is to make a target of yourself. Hopefully whatever large beasts are hiding in here know that you probably don’t taste good. Certainly not tasty enough to gobble up for a snack. Had you known this was going to happen, you would have gone with the sneaky sneak black cloak today and not your attention-grabbing red one.
Treading carefully and as quietly as you can, with minimal tree bumping into, you make your way to the light and the voice that came from the direction. You can’t hear anyone talking anymore, no more pleads for help, but the light is still there, quivering in the distance, a faint flickering now and then.
The closer you get, the more you start to make out a shape behind the light. It’s hunched over close to the ground and letting out low groans as it swayed with the light, like it was struggling just to keep some kind of balance. You saw it perk up and jerk in your general direction after you accidentally stepped on a thick twig, causing an audible SNAP to fill the air. But it makes no move to come to you, it only struggles to stay up after almost toppling over. You don’t say anything, just approach it carefully.
Able to make out the being behind the light... you weren’t expecting what you saw.
Just a girl, laying on the ground and using her arms to keep her up. Well, arm, singular. Her other was gone, some kind of metal pole with frayed wires coming out of it replaced her other. She was looking in your direction but not at you. The light you followed was coming from a flashlight necklace she wore, though considering the state of her eyes right now, you weren’t sure why she would need one.
?: Is... is s-someone there?
?: H-hello...?

>she seems scared. Try talking to her?
You crouch down before her, trying to go slow and not make any sort of sudden noises or movements. You don’t want to scare the kid more than she already is. You kind of wonder how she got here without any legs, but you quickly brush that thought aside. She’s clearly an Orcalun, one of the major superpower races up there with your own. Hers is hardly a rare occurrence among their kind.
You decide to try and mimic the gentle and comforting tone your good sister often uses when you’re upset. Orion: Hey, hey there.
?: W-who are you?
Orion: My name’s Orion. Are you okay?
?: I, I think so? I don’t know where I am, I haven’t heard any people in hours.
?: Where are we?
Orion: T’vorsk. A Novescala colony. Specifically deep in one of the colony's many, many massive forests.
Yeah, this colony was pretty much 74% trees if you remembered right. But hey, an abundance of clean air.

> Ask what her name is
Names are always a great way to start any kind of relationship, and you wanted to befriend this girl. It’d be cruel to just be cruel. Wait that made no sense. What you mean is that you didn’t want to be mean to someone who’se clearly already had it rough. Sure, Orcalun’s are built to be tough and to handle extensive limb lose and organ failure, but she’s still a kid.
Orion: Do you have a name?
Her race usually had names that were simple to hard to pronounce. You hoped that her name was easier to say than some of the ones you’ve met.
?: Name...?
?: I don’t have one?
?: Haven’t... h-haven’t earned one yet.
Drats, you’d forgotten. Her race didn’t do the naming thing like many others. That is, her people didn’t give their young names when they were born. An Orcalun was nameless until they earned the right to a name, to an identity. You felt bad for bringing it up, it could have been a sore spot for her. She looked so ashamed as she admitted to not having a name, that was like the equivalent of saying you were useless to your people. Having a name was important in her culture.
But you couldn’t just call her ‘girl’ or ‘kid’. So maybe you ought to name her yourself. That’d probably make her happy, too.

You ask her if she’d like a name, because asking first is always a good policy, and when she mumbles that a name is nice, you begin spouting random names at her. You’ve never really heard of any of them, pretty sure they’re all alien names or something. Most seem to go over her head.
Seems like she found one she liked.
Orion: You like this one?
?: Yeah... Fayre...
?: Can I be Fayre?
Orion: Sure, it’s nice to meet you, Fayre.
Honestly, this all just feels like a waste of time, and if this were a story or comic, you’d chalk a moment like this as just bad writing on the authors part. Laughable, really. Good thing this wasn’t fiction. Still, you decide you’ve wasted enough time, it was already dark out and you didn’t want to be here any longer than you had to.
>Ask if you can pick her up? That way, you can talk and walk, and try to get back to civilization before it gets even darker?
You smile at her, not like she’d be able to see it anyways. At least she doesn’t seem as afraid as she was before, probably realized that you were more of a dork than a threat.
Orion: Im trying to get out of this forest and back to town, do you want to come with me?
Fayre: C-can I? Won’t I just get in the way? Or slow you d-down?
Orion: Please, with all due respect, you’re underestimating me there.
Fayre: Sorry...
Orion: But, seriously, will you come with me? We’d have a better chance of getting out of here if we work together.
Fayre: ...okay... So, you kind of just skipped the whole asking part and instead hoist her up without warning. Fayre let out a startled scream and clung to you. As best as she could at least. You ignore the fact that it kind of hurts having metal digging into your skin.
She’s a lot lighter than you expecting. Missing 3/4ths of her body is probably why, but at least it makes it easier for you to carry her.
Orion: Alright, Fayre, next stop? Civilization!

Orion: You ever been to Novescala?
Fayre: Novescala? The garrunt homeworld?
Orion: The very same.
Fayre: I don’t think I’ve ever b-been in the same solar system as it...
She’s NEVER been to Novescala? The horror! She truly was missing out on seeing the wonders of the greatest planet in the known- and unknown- universe.Your heart bled out for this plight. Okay, so maybe that was mostly just your pride in your planet talking, but still, it was a shame that she’s never gotten to see it before.
Orion: Once we get out of here, how about you come back to Novescala with me?

>Tell her about the IMPORTANT FAMILY BUSINESS. It's kinda a big deal!
In all honesty, you'd completely forgotten about that, about the whole reason you even came to this planet. Which is pretty weird since it is, as mentioned, IMPORTANT FAMILY BUSINESS. Maybe Fayre could lend a sympathetic ear and listen to your plight, listen to you complain about how you were told to come to this planet for said IMPORTANT BUSINESS, but then were not allowed to participate or even see the business. Really, a wasted trip for you to come.
Orion: Honestly, I'm only on this colony because I came on family business with one of my older sisters.
Orion: But I basically got kicked from the group as soon as we arrived for stupid reasons.
Orion: So my sisters out there with all these fancy officials while I'm, well, out here.
Fayre: You have a sister?
Orion: Yeah, two actually. This one, her name's Alula and she is the most TERRIFYING woman I have ever met.
Orion: The smarts, the cunning, the intimidation. Not to mention she's the greatest military tactician and general Novescala has ever had.
Orion: And I'm not just saying that because I'm her brother. I don't think she's ever lost a fight.
Fayre: What kind of business were you guys here for?
Orion: Oh, the usual.
Fayre: Usual?
Orion: Careful, lots of twigs jutting out.
Orion: But, you know how this planet is a Novescala colony? Alula and I, mostly Alula, we came here to renegotiate some old agreements.
Orion: Simple stuff from what I was told. What percentage of resources and exports made on this colony will be sent to Novescala.
Orion: How much financial aid and resources Novescala will send back here.
Orion: Simple stuff. Anything else I'm out of the loop of.
Fayre: Ah. I get it.
Fayre: I can kind of understand your sister doing that, from what you said it sounds like she has a really important and high up kind of job
Fayre: But why would you be doing this? How'd this be family business?
Orion: I mean, the fact that it's negotiating with different planets and races is the family business and something I need to learn.
Orion: Wait, do you not know who I am?
Fayre: You're... Orion...?
Fayre: I-I'm sorry? I don't know anything about you b-besides that.
Orion: Don't worry, no need to apologize. I guess you wouldn't really know by a name, I should have properly introduced myself earlier. Let me fix that.
Orion: It's a pleasure to meet you, Fayre. I'm Orion, third-born of Seren, High-Queen of Novescala.
Orion: It's your lucky day; you became friends with and are getting carried by a prince.

> Be very quiet and move carefully, something might be watching you.
You’re not quite sure what that means, you don’t sense anyone near you, other than Fayre, of course, but you decide to hush the chatter for now. You guys can talk more about the royalty and junk latter. Instead, you focus on moving quietly and trying to listen for anything that might be following you-
Oh.
Orion: Sorry in advance!
Fayre: ?
You practically throw Fayre off to the side, and then toss your cloak over her. Not much, but better than nothing.
Fayre gained +1 ARMOR.
You lost -1 ARMOR.
Not enough to make a difference, but it’ll protect her from dirt, sprays of rocks and smoke if something like that happens. Besides, you need your hands and arms free and the cloak and Fayre will get in the way.
The GIANT SNAKE has confronted you, looks like you’re going to need to deal with this first before you can keep moving forward. You now have three options before you. You can FIGHT the snake, deal with it through strength and power. You can try and deal with this peacefully, in a way where no one will get hurt via DIPLOMACY. Or you can turn tail and run by choosing to FLEE.

100% attempt diplomacy. It's not like people will think less of you, if they learn that you're capable of talking to snakes, right? That's a TRUSTWORTHY character trait to have.
