Hello there. Have your friends ever given you nicknames? Have they ever ganged up on you with those nicknames? Have they ever resorted to one nickname in particular, because that was the one you reacted the most emphatically to? Have you ever felt a need to play up your distaste for a nickname, even though you do not really care one way or the other about it? Has this feeling of a need ever led to you creating a fan adventure because some largely-insignificant part of your brain told you it would be a good idea, and you failed to disagree by the time you created the first panel? Have you ever felt as though you accidentally took a joke too far but were already in too deep to just pretend it never happened?
I have. My friends nicknamed me 'daddy,' and it led to DaddyQuest. (Latest updates can be read here, tumblr link here) But before you click that link, here is a short FAQ for those of you hesitant (and rightfully so) to click something with "Daddy" in the title:
What in the reader-driven MSPA-derivative fuck is DaddyQuest? DaddyQuest is what happens when all the events implied by the largely rhetorical questions above happen to someone exactly like me. It, as the title might imply, revolves largely around the specific, popularized terms used in certain BDSM relationships, e.g. 'daddy,' 'kitten,' and 'cummies.'
For the love of any respectable cosmic deity, why? Something inside me snapped a while ago. It might have been my sanity, it might have been my sense of human decency. I'm still not sure.
So this is a fan adventure that's just blatant smut? No, actually! Ironically, DaddyQuest has no pornographic content thus far, and probably never will. What it does have is a fairly absurd modern fantasy setting, and an implicitly-sexual theme which is only delivered upon very lightly, and not actually sexually at all. That said, this is almost definitely not a comic that is Safe-For-Work, for sheltered youngsters, or for those easily offended or upset by words or images related to the implied bond between a 'daddy' and a 'kitten.'
Is this all for irony's sake? Is this what horrible lengths irony can drive someone to? An unhealthy amount of irony is definitely how this started. At the end of day, I take full responsibility for this awful product of my own imagination's response to a terrible in-joke. Please don't blame irony for my sins.
Can I suggest a command without feeling as though I need to shower afterwards? Yes! Well, definitely yes to the first part. The blog's sidebar has a button for suggesting commands through tumblr. It is in the shape of an open envelope, because that's what the blog theme made it look like. And, if you would prefer the familiar comfort of these forums, you may also submit them in this thread, like literally every other fan adventure. Not all suggested commands are guaranteed to be used of course, (including, ironically enough, inappropriate ones) but rest assured all will be looked at and appraised for their worth.
