I woke up around 4:30 this morning and just kind of laid in bed until my alarm went off at 7:30. When I got up it felt like my stomach was about to tear me up, and I was in horrible pain. Which, to be fair, is my own fault - I went out and got spicy pork from a Korean restaurant with my not-bf for lunch, and then we so wisely decided to get Taco Bell for dinner later that night...so yeah.
I then had to be in at work at 10 this morning, so I was feeling pretty beat. But on top of that, I had to cover for someone tonight in a different position which meant I had to drive 20 min back to my house to get the stuff I needed for that and 20 min back on my break. After that it wasn't such a bad day. My manager ended up paying for my lunch and I went home with $35 in tips which is a lot more than I expected to make so that's nice.
Now the not-bf wants to get Mexican food for dinner tomorrow night, so we'll see how that goes with my current state of being lol.

So, I'm still moderately sick, yay me. Still tired all the time, and still trying to catch up on work I missed because everything was hectic in the lives of everyone who was supposed to be giving me information on what to do.

Man everyone's been having less than happy health days lately. It's been two months and now my gallbladder's starting to ache again; I was really hoping it wouldn't. It's not bad, but it keeps reminding me that I've still got health issues now. Gonna stick to extra-low-fat food for a couple days and hope it stops; Might have been from eating all of this (delicious) chicken that I keep making a little too often. Its skinless chicken breast cut into strips, coated liberally with lemon pepper and seared in cast iron with a light coat of oil (where most of the fat comes from) then deglazed with lemon and lime juice and left to steam with a lid on it to cook through. I've also made my own extra-lean hamburgers once or twice, though I tend to stick to Boca burgers since they're borderline fat free and are super convenient. Started putting jalapeño slices on alongside the spicy pickles and red onion. Is very tasty, though not much point to doing both since the jalapeño is just as hot as the spicy pickles. Almost down to 300 pounds.

There have been exams for a week and I still have one on Monday. I'm tired and shivering because of the cold.

Made the mistake of going to an old friend's Tumblr page to see how he was doing. Remembered why I hate Tumblr. Nothing like five minutes on that site to remind you that no matter who you are, what your background is, or how friendly you try to be to people, there will always be a very loud group of people who hate you for no good reason. That's why I don't have an art blog there anymore; at least DeviantArt is stupid in a way I can handle.

Was starting to feel mostly better. Apparently that was the signal for it to kick up a notch again. Ow. Medical research shows that it does also cause chest pain but I still can't figure out how the hell something below your liver can manage that. It's sort of like feeling like you're constantly having a very mild heart attack.

So I wanted to get a music album, but it was never released digitally, so there was no way to legally download the album. But no big deal, it was more expensive and I had to wait for it to arrive, but I ordered the physical CD. I was happy to find the package on my door at the earliest estimated arrival date, and it seemed to be in good, unopened condition. I plugged in my external CD drive (my computer's a relatively new laptop, so it doesn't have one built in), hit the button to open the tray ... and it didn't open. I tried everything I could think of, but all it would do is turn on the light like it was about to open, and then do nothing. Giving up on this path, I dug out and booted up my old laptop, planning to rip the songs onto there and copy them over via flash drive. I put the CD in and ... it didn't work. It didn't even register there being a CD in the drive.
So now I'm stuck. Until I get my CD drive repaired or get a new one, I have a great CD, but no way to even play it!

My CD drive is like that; Won't open unless there's already a disk there or you've completed the proper ritual of randomly pressing the button 2-3 times at whatever times convince it to open instead of close (when already closed.)
Also, my day has been clouded over with anxiety because I'm hella nervous about how I'm probably going to need to have my gallbladder out this week. I was hoping it being colicky meant that it would settle down after a couple days but it's been about ten days now ramping up and down but never stopping. I go in tomorrow (well, today technically, it being 1 AM right now and all that) and aside from finding out when (I'd say 'if' but it seems almost certain at this point unless they recommend me to start taking asprin or something to help ease the creepy chest discomfort and pain in my guts) I'm going to get it done, I'll probably also ask if he can recommend me anywhere to pick up some sort of girdle or back brace because my back's been bugging me lately.

Every day I fail.

When you do go to bed early you'll probably lay there unable to sleep. Or maybe I'm projecting because ffffffffffffuck that was a rough night. Nothing like a night of restless misery to wipe away my feelings of anxiety and doubt about getting this thing out of me.

I did it, I finally got my sleep schedule sorted out, getting to bed and getting up on time! Or, at least, I could say that yesterday; last night I got stuck on something I was determined to finish and ended up getting to bed at 5:00AM. Whoops!

Ha ha ha. So I leave my laptop in the kitchen, right, thinking it'll be fine there overnight. When I woke up this morning, I see that it's been moved. "No biggie," I thought with a small amount of doubt at the back of my mind, "surely my family couldn't have fucked up my computer simply by moving it to the side."
I open it up to discover the right side of the shell is cracked, leaving the monitor limp and fucked to kingdom come.
EDIT: ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME, MY HEADPHONES ARE BROKEN TOO

Now that the streets aren't as icy, the job hunt is going to start again soon. I also feel like this is a good time to start trying to break some bad habits so my future co-workers won't know think I'm a weirdo.

They did a bunch of tests but weren't able to schedule the endoscopic sweep out until tomorrow/today, and probably won't be getting the gallbladder out until Wednesday. So much incredibly slow waiting.

Sorry to hear that Wes, I had an extended period in the hospital when I had my appendix out and it was just as dreary and dull. I hope you're back at home and in good comforts as soon as possible, maybe Wednesday!

So... a coworker handed me an invitation to his wedding. I don't want to be rude, but ... I don't want to go; I barely know the guy and weddings are boring (doubly so since I don't dance). According to my parents "people don't give out wedding invitations unless the want you to be there" and that I really should go because of that, but I feel like he just gave out invitations to the entire team at work, as the only time I ever interact with him is as part of big meetings with the entire team there. He's a nice enough guy and I don't want to disrespect him, but I just don't know him well enough to want to suffer through hours of boredom amongst what I assume will be a bunch of people I don't even know just to be there for him.
Furthermore, he specifically said when handing me the invitation that there was no need to bring a gift, but yet again, my parents contradict that, saying he just said that to be polite, and it's only proper to bring a gift to any wedding, even if it's just $10 in a card. Well, that much is less important; I can part with $10, but I'd feel weird if I was the only one not close to them to bring a gift.
I'm really not sure what to do here.
