The sun sets, and the moon rises on a cold evening in September. And in the still of the valley air, comes the crackling of a fire.
A fire that you have started. What is your name?

The winds whisper through the pine needles the name of a long forgotten mythological figure, whose legacy was undeniably grand, and his voice soothingly deep. But you are not him, and his name is not yours to take.
You? A knight? You find the notion quite funny.
Although, after contemplating the title, you suppose your role in society isn’t too dissimilar. You remain unknighted, however.
That’s more like it.
Your name is Morgan Hill, and you have entered the forest in search of an old friend. One, who, at this moment, does not seem to be in quite the mood to be found.
What do you do?

Catch a fish in the lake. You can cook it on the fire. Maybe your friend will be lured in by the smell of food?

You attempt a sick flip into a dive to catch a passing fish. To… mixed results.
While technically a success in that you did indeed catch a fish, you’re not quite feeling the success. But hey, a fish!
Somehow.
> Knowing some stuff about your friend would probably let us find him better.
Your friend is a bit more than justified in wanting to remain undiscovered. His line of work is what he’s termed “Property Redistribution., but where all the wealth is redistributed to one person, and that one person just so happens to be me.” He was recently accused of “redistributing” a rather important artifact to himself, but as he is your friend, you are quite certain that he is at least moderately more intelligent than someone who would steal a Thunderbolt, especially one so ancient. … Not a lot smarter though. But to avoid the very painful wrath of the people who owned the very old bolt in question, he took off into the forest throwing various rude gestures behind him. So, in the better interest of finding him and making sure he doesn’t actually steal something that could end with him dead, you’ve come out to search for him yourself. In the meantime, you’ll just have to hope the smell of the fish will be enough to draw him towards you.
Please tell me you have a map of the area...
Heck yeah, you’ve got a map, what self-respecting adventurer wouldn’t have one in their kit?
Your map covers the territory that the Valley Kingdom lays claim to, along with the surrounding
mountains that have become almost a natural fortress, along with the many rivers that form the arteries of the kingdom’s trade and commerce,
and together they create the fertile basin that allows the kingdom to thrive.
You left Valley Heart a few days ago, so you think you should be right about here. Or are you here? Maybe you’re here… Oh no… You might be just a little lost. At the very least, you’re confident you’re on the western side of the valley, and realistically, you would only have to follow the river for a
while before you came across some form of civilization.
So that’s only a little worrying...

This is Very Very well arted & animated. Good work! Beautiful cartography as well!
Don't worry about being lost -> Tomorrow, when the sun is up, you can use that to re-orient yourself. Unless you weren't planning on spending the night outside, but the tent seems to show that you've planned for that.
Since the rivers form the backbone of commerce in the kingdom, are you likely to see any tradeships? Would your friend have stowed away aboard one of them for a free trip downriver?

Yeah, that’s a good idea. You think you need your rest anyways. After you’ve eaten, you think you’ll turn in for the night.
Hold on. What was that?
Oh, shit.
Hello, Mr. Bear. You wouldn’t happen to be visiting to ask for a cup of sugar, would you? Is this about the trout currently on the fire?
You tell Mr. Bear that you’re sorry, but he wasn’t been invited to your cookout…
After a brief moment of awkward silence and unbroken eye contact, You excuse yourself to the bear, informing him that you need to get something from the tent.
No time for crazy flips now, you need to get to your weapon as quickly as possible, but you made
the poor decision to keep it in your tent. You don’t want to kill the bear, of course, it has no ill will towards you as far as you’re aware, but you do kind of need it away from your campsite about, like, now.
Yeah, this should make enough noise to keep him away...
Chose your fighter!

+1 vote for longrifle. Rifle knights are cool, and you're an excellent person. Keep an eye out for cubs too.
