Sadly I dunno what the right thing to do would be. I have to get up at 5AM tomorrow to register for next semester's classes, and then I gotta go to stuff at 9 AM later! I REALLY want to read the update as soon as it comes out, but I don't want to mess up my day...I guess I'll have to wait.
Maybe it would be especially poignant of me to wait until 4:13 PM of tomorrow. I kind of want to do that just for the heck of it.

I could, but at that time I'll probably be sleepy so if the update is complicated enough I might just rush through it not understanding anything. May be a better idea to just wait until tomorrow. Yeah even if I was allowed to stay up till midnight on school days I'd probably be really drowsy and not fit for reading what would no doubt be a gigantic update.
To say nothing of watching it multiple times, overanalizing it and discussing it in the forums. Which all are critical activities to proper understand WTF is going on in Homestuck

Ahhhhhh this is it! Assuming nothing suddenly goes wrong (lol), throwing the rings into the forge will make it erupt phallically and shoot a sperm white tadpole waaaaay up into an eggy thign skaia. Homestuck is really just the most elaborate sex metaphor in the history of english literature. Now that I think about it, a male and a female holding hands while holding two rings might be a part of the metaphor.
The last static panel (which may very well be the last static panel in Homestuck, aside from maybe a THE END page) seems significant to me though--a big white circle could mean a LOT of things, and that IS the way Act 7 has been represented in a lot of places. The symmetrical black dots feel visually reminiscent of something too, but I'm not sure what... seeds maybe? Either way ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is it! We most likely have around 10 hours until Homestuck is over, assuming it drops at midnight like Collide did. I'm not prepared, and I really wish I didn't have to work tonight ;__; |

Woooo! Penultimate update! I can't take it any moreI understand that today's update is to be a continuation of the same scene. So exited!
10023: Oh. They haven't dropped the rings in yet. Huh. Why is the house logo on the lilypad already? Echidna agreed to release the genesis frog, but I don't think that has actually happened yet.
That volcano is way too steep. It was not solid rock when formed. I believe the highest angle of repose for volcanic material is about 60 degrees.
10024: Oh yes. It begins. I love how PM is angrily determined and WV is terrified.
10025: So close. And so dangerous for those who cannot fly. *Heavy breathing*
10026: That face. What a journey it has been. PM is ready to end this once and for all. She would make an excellent Prospitian monarch. She deserves the title she was given three years ago.

-sees the last panel- PM is filled with DETERMINATION.  Good god, only one update left and yet still so much to cover! I'm... kind of scared for Act 7. How badly will it ruin me? And the rest of the fandom?? But hey, after this we'll have Hiveswap to look forward too. Hopefully development on that is going smoothly -crosses fingers- And maaaaybe PXS comics? I'd love to see those again. |

Hello everyone, I am Draco. I had been in self-exile from the MSPA forums for, like, a while, but I figured that, since this is technically a new forum, and it's all going to end tomorrow, I, like all side characters and heroes-of-another-story, should be back for the finale.
Anyway, here is my reaction to this second-to last update:
Man, PM looks intense, and the Mayor just looks kinda scared. After a few checks I realized the Serenity was nowhere to be seen, so that is kinda worrying, I hope she is okay and not going to end up separated from the Mayor again, somehow. Also, aaaawwwwwwwwwwwww, they're holding hands.

Totally referencing LOTR here, heh. BTW, why do the image names end with "johndad" like yesterday's ones? Oh, and this scene with PM's face looks just ready to fade into some other spherical object. Oh, I know that's what it ACTUALLY is. I just meant that the framing of the panel seems like it was probably done as a kind of visual call-forward to the various circles that are about to be important in Act 7--the white circle representing the act itself, skaia, the ring of cracks around the green sun, the green sun, various black holes, etc. The point about the eyes is probably reading into it too much, though. I'm just excited  |

Oh dear lord, final update before 4/13! I can hardly imagine what this and Act 7 will bring. Honestly, you'd think Andrew has decided not to do an epilogue? Or has he decided to do something else with the EOH?? Probably shouldn't talk like that, let's take everything he's said already at face value, and assume that however Homestuck ends, it ends tomorrow. Meanwhile, I look at yesterday's last panel and all I can think now is: Everyone: Notice the End of Homestuck approaching. Of course, their expressions are way to upbeat for this, but they're facing the right direction for it, even Terezi! God, I hope Dad can accompany them into the new universe. I guess maybe tonight Jane goes in for a hug, maybe? Or else we see Vriska finally readying the plothole. Blaperile has a good point, everyone's hair and glasses are lined with their associated colour. Funny to think, we already HAVE a confirmed canon way in which their associated colour also is a feature of their body - their eye colour. I don't think this timeline will be retconned anymore. That said, they might currently be in a timeline not limited by timeloops anymore. I figure John's retcon powers have been enough to free them of (too much) causality. (Just enough of it so Dave can travel back in time for limited periods.) And, the effect of his zaps should count as as much of a "glitch in spacetime" as anything that could lead to Lord English's downfall. I mean, Vriska being alive caused GCATavrosprite AND Jasprosesprite^2 to come into effect, the latter of which caused Davepetasprite^2. And the combination of John striking his deal with Typheus and Davepeta caused Jade to be around and awake at the right time to have PM defeat Bec Noir and secure the Genesis Frog. Maybe their universe won't have to be located in blankspace, maybe it'll be in a post-Green Sun Paradox Space. But then SBURB and the Horrorterrors would still be around, so... Eh, choices. --- > 10023 OOOOH! SCENE SWITCH, BACK TO LOFAF OF ALL PLACES! Wow, they're actually walking up the cone of the volcano, I figured there was a pathway or cave to get up there. Gee, the thing is almost overcooking. I'm reminded of the Forge near Jake's house. Is it relevant that that one, too, was 2 years after 2009. I guess this post-Act 6 interlude will end with WV and PM freeing the Genesis Frog! N'awww, Blaperile pointed out to me they're holding hands while walking up there. I guess you could say... :smooth: They're having a baby and the baby is U(niverse C). --- > 10024 Haahahaha, I love PM's determined expression. "Let's just get this shit over with." Meanwhile, WV must be kind of mesmerized by the heat and glowy spectacle before him. Maybe it's a good thing they're carapaces, this heat would be unbearable for Jade! Gee, just like with Dad, I love how, despite the lack of most facial features, her face is so... worn and detailed. ---- Uh.... It just stops here? I figured we'd AT LEAST get a zoom in on WV's face in the same manner as we just got for PM? I. Huh. Either 4/13 sees the continuation of this scene and then Act 7... Or this is the final regular page in Homestuck. Heh, just like page no. 10 000 was Jack's Egghead, that would mean this is a very unexpected way to celebrate this milestone. Then again, PM's been the driving force behind a lot of things. John's first inscribed tablet. B1 WQ and WK abdicating. Jack being mated by John using the Uberbunny Liv Tyler. Jack exiting the trolls' session in pursuit of the meteor. And now, this. If Act 7 shows the creation of the new universe... A song from Genesis Frog would be appropriate! Of course, it would then be followed by... Something else. Perhaps of Gods and Witches, or another song by Tensei? Perhaps something else entirely. 12 whole minutes still to fill, after all! But still, if you add it all up, there's just so much still left. Alt Calliope's gambit. Vriska's gambit. Caliborn's gambit (fulfillment of the masterpiece). The kids claiming the Ultimate Reward. Perhaps a final look at the ghosts in the dreambubbles, and everyone else left behind, be it sprite or consort. Oh my. Last minute theories? Umm... Umm... -Neither Pre or Post Retcon Caliborn become Lord English; Alt!Caliborn Does. -Homestuck is a coma dream Andrew Hussie had at an Olive Garden he imagined up in the Dream Bubbles; Caliborn and the Felt are caricatures of the actual heroes, and the trolls and humans are the actual villains (All the interactions Hussie has with the narrative are canon, though.). -Homestuck is a fan-fiction that Rose and Jade Collaborated on; but they still actually played Sburb. -Muse! Calliope accidentally creates a second Green Sun when trying to destroy the first. -Homestuck is a prequel to Undertale, and a sequel to Dinosaur Comics. I have a few theories about the Homestuck Myth of Creation. They are not completely new, but maybe their linking together can be of interest: - The trolls and humans will succeed at creating Universe C, closing all causality loops, including those involved in the creation of Lord English. That sounds bad, but the twist is that this will be seen as a good thing. - The trolls and humans will open up the ability to create numerous additional universes, outside the A+B+C causality loop (and perhaps outside LE control). - Both of the above! One would be the reason the other is good. Vriska's self-serving speech will be seen as even more true and more dark that she intended or understood. The sacrifice for the sake of the future will not be limited to the destruction of uncountable ghosts: it will include the eons of suffering inside the linked Universes A+B+C, ruled by LE. The sacrifice will be necessary for the sake of the future uncountable shimmering universes to arise, outside that loop. - High energy astrophysics (such as giant black holes) will be involved in this process. - The creative powers of Skaia and the Sburb game will be involved in the process. - Both of the above! Skaia and Sburb set up the physics laws of each universe through the game rules. - In summary, Sburb/Sgrub/S***b/BH/GS is the genetic code of the never-ending Multiverse. Homestuck shows a crucially important three-universe slice of that infinitely larger multiverse. It is crucially important because it is the place where many things started. A+B+C will leave a subtle but permanent imprint in every reality arising from them. Just as Universe A left some subtle signs in Universe B (such as the Zodiac), but in an even larger scale. - The Denizens already know all of this, through their communion with the other slices of reality. - If this is true, in a sense Homestuck can be a prequel to Undertale. In the sense that it is a prequel to a huge number of realities to arise, Undertale could be presumably included. - I see these cosmic theories as interesting and appealing, but not completely new. Just a few hours to see if Hussie will show this, or something even more puzzling, spectacular, outrageous, or cosmic  . I am looking forward to it!  I like the way you theorize, friend. I think it's too late and too weekday for me to come up with any grand final theories. Beside, perhaps... Just perhaps... A couple of the realities in Paradox Space (either pre- or post-Green Sun) turn out to be the other MSPA adventures, with AIDS reality, Whistles reality, Wizardy Herbert reality, Problem Sleuth 2 reality and Act 1031 reality included next to Bard Quest, Jailbreak and Problem Sleuth 1. |

Oh god now it's the final update before Act 7. THE SECOND TO LAST HOMESTUCK UPDATE EVER HOLY SHIT. I have no idea what's even going to happen in this one. I kind of hope it's Jane reuniting with Dad, but I could also see it being something Dreambubble/Lord English related. Something that surprises me is that apparently we're not getting the heroes entering the new universe BEFORE Act 7, that was something I'd definitely originally expected. Hehe, I just noticed that on the last page of the previous update everyone's hair has a tint of their associated colour, just like in that one panel of the Trolls from Cascade that was drawn by Xamag, which did a similar thing. And apparently the glasses of Jade, Jake and Jane do the same thing as well! Ahahaha, and even Dave and Dirk's shades contain a red and orange line respectively. Alright, let's read this final normal update... (wow) Oh wow, back to WV and PM!!! I definitely didn't expect to see them in this last update! Looks like we're still going to see them destroy the rings! N'aww, they're holding onto each other as they climb The Forge. They really are married. Also, it's nice to see that PM is indeed joining WV in this and isn't just leaving him to do it by himself. And again, just the symbolism of a Dersite and Prospitian doing this together!! Oh god, plainWonder just reminded me that this might mean that in the next few pages we'll actually see Bilious Slick being released!!! Man that would be awesome. I do wonder if Bilious Slick is still a tadpole or if it has already considerably grown by now. Hell yes, WV and PM are getting a "pose as a team" page too! I love how determined PM continues to be. One last delivery to make! It ain't over till she's delivered everything she has to deliver. I also really like how both WV and PM continue to be without their hoods! Oh boy, they're almost there! Or, like plainWonder's saying, maybe they'll just throw the rings from there, or otherwise they'd be getting REALY close to the lava. Wow, INTENSE ZOOM-IN. Now one for WV too? Also, hehe, PM's head now kind of reminds me of a cueball. *scrolls down* Wait what??? That's it? Huh. That's a pretty weird place to end. And seeing as Andrew promised to release the entirety of Act 7 on 4/13 (AKA tomorrow)... wow. Then I assume the opening to Act 7 will show WV and PM lighting the Forge, the Genesis Frog being released, and perhaps being put into Skaia and releasing the Vast Croak?  Oh god I think that if that's true, it's going to be one hell of a cool flash. Oh man, I almost can't believe that the next update will CONCLUDE Homestuck!!! It just feels so weird! Unless Andrew's going to be publishing multiple different parts throughout the day? Not that it would make much difference for me, seeing as I won't be able to read the update until the evening anyway. But... man. There's still so much that has yet to happen, even at the bare minimum! Not just what I said above about the Genesis Frog, but also entering the new universe, Caliborn's Masterpiece, Vriska using the Plot Hole against Lord English... tomorrow is going to be one HELL of a day, oh dear god. Are you ready folks... the end is coming. D: |
