Alright, time to listen to the Volume 10 songs! I'm really curious to see what these very last canon Homestuck songs will sound like!
Andrew said this would be the very last Homestuck album. This statement is suddenly making me wonder about the Hiveswap soundtrack. Are they going to put up an album for that on Bandcamp as well? That would be really cool.
I like plainWonder's suggestion that they might make an alternate Bandcamp for it though.
I guess I could see it working out either way.
Anyway, let's focus on Volume 10 for now! I'm really curious about the full version of Creata especially.
1. Creata
Ooooh, look at that track-art! The 4 B1 Kids together with their Genesis Frog! Well if that ain't appropriate! Oh man, isn't this one of the only track-arts uptil now where ALL B1 Kids are featured? That's awesome.
I wonder if Create actually does briefly cut off at the point where it cuts off in Collide or if it will not. Also, I'm pretty curious what the rest of the song will sound like! Will it also contain A LOT of melodies in it, or is it going to continue with the melody of the last part we heard during the flash?
*starts listening*
Woooooooooaaaaaaah, that new part reminds me a lot of A Taste For Adventure!!! OH HI REVELAWESOME. YOU ARE AWESOME IN THIS.
WOW 8 BIT OUT OF NOWHERE.
SKAIA SONG TOO.
OH SHIT SONG OF SKAIA IN FACT WITH ALL THE VOICES.
GOD THIS IS TOO GREAT. It IS Skaia's baby after all!
Oh god the Revelawesome melody continues. The way it mixes with Song of Skaia is TOO GREAT FOR WORDS.
Errr... thunderclouds out of nowhere?
Uh.
What's going on.
WHAT THE SHIT ARE HORRORTERRORS DOING IN THIS
Woah...
Let the Squiddles sleep mixed in with Song of Skaia. NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THAT IN MY LIFE.
Wow... this was really, really great. Totally not what I was expecting, but SUPER DUPER AWESOME NONETHELESS.
Very great opening for this album! I think this song would have been a pretty good alternative for Overture in the Act 7 flash!
Alright, onto the next song.
2. Train
Alright, Train. No freaking clue what the meaning of this will be. The hype train is literally the only thing on my mind right now.
*clicks on track*
WHAT AM I LOOKING AT, PFFFFFFFFF. Okay, I guess it means THAT kind of Train but... lawl. This is incredibly silly. So then it's possibly a song for the aftermath of Game Over, where John, Roxy and Terezi are the only ones left? "Train" in this case might be referring to the things the three of them had to do afterwards before the retcon could start!
Also, John's thinking with portals now.
And heeeeeeeey, it's Buzinkai! Dang it's great to see him on an album again. I just love his songs.
Let's see...
That's surprisingly up-tempo!
Oh wow, these effects remind me a lot of Doctor! And the beats in the background remind me a bit of Terezi Owns.
And maybe I'm just imagining it or are there references to Pink Cat a bit?
It's hard to really visualize something with this song I guess, but it's still very neat!
Great job, Buzinkai!
3. Of Gods and Witches
Tensei time! I've heard it before, once or twice I think? Can't really recall what it was like, so let's find out!
I assume the track-art will be something with Jade?
*clicks*
It is! Wooooooah. That's so cool. Jade in her old outfit and in her God Tier outfit, Bec Noir, very sneaky Jadesprite, all the planets and the 8-ball containing Earth which plainWonder pointed out to me! Also, Battlefield texture behind her.
And hey, black sleeves like the What Pumpkin shirt, that's pretty cool.
Pffhehe, the Beat Mesa is on that LOHAC drawing.
It's pretty cool how they're using the canon imagery of the lands here, inside their own fan-art.
This is pretty dang cool art!
Anyway, now for the song.
...
That sounds like Prince of Seas, ahahaha.
...No seriously.
Oh god that guitar. Sounds Vriska-like!
HARDCORE JADE IS HARDCORE.
(Also, hardcore Tensei is hardcore)
...Was that a bell? Haha.
HEY COOL, REFERENCE TO HEIR OF GRIEF IN THERE.
OH SHIT, SAVIOR OF DREAMING DEAD LET'S GO.
That was super awesome. I really had totally forgotten what it sounded like, apparently.
Another typical Tensei song! Gotta love it.
Sounded like a mix of She's a Spider, Prince of Seas, Savior of the Dreaming Dead and Heir of Grief to me! Awesome.
4. Beatup
Alright! This song I still remember from having heard in the car once, from Astro Kid's album.
Let's see what it sounds like here!
And let's see who the track-art is for. Dirk maybe?
OOOOOH, Dave AND Dirk! That's awesome.
Oh man, so Plazmataz worked on it too.
Let's go listen to this RADICAL remix of Beatdown!
YUP. We immediately start with that Beatdown melody!
God so fucking awesome. It's even MORE rad than the version we'd already heard. Seems like they made it even BETTER than it already was.
Oh man this is so cool to jam out to.
Fucking awesome. THAT'S ALL THERE REALLY IS TO SAY ON THE MATTER. They used Beatdown in a REALLY epic way here.
5. You Killed My Father (Prepare To Die)
Okay seriously, if this song IS NOT for John taking revenge on Bec Noir for killing Dad I don't know what it is.
*clicks*
OH FUCK YEAH.
Oh god all those artists that worked on this. Lots of Colours & Mayhem people it seems! Goddamn DJ Saito (spelling?) even!!! DJ's guitar is INCREDIBLE.
I have a feeling this is going to be really, REALLY awesome.
Oh hell yes, epic SHOWTIME. GO FOR IT.
Wait... is that suddenly Aggrieve? Oh yeah, the violin! Oh yeah, it's Rose's distaction!
LIQUID NEGROCITY OH GOD THIS IS BEING USED IN SUCH A CREEPY WAY
FUCKING AWESOME SHOWTIME AGAIN
Wooooaaah, the way it switches between Showtime and Liquid Negrocity is SO GOOD.
SHOWTIME BY DJ SAITO. THE THING I NEVER KNEW I WANTED.
FUCK HOW COOL CAN THIS GET
Oh man those voices in the background. Kind of reminds me of Song of Skaia too, hahaha.
This was really, REALLY epic. This song is PERFECT for John's fight against Bec Noir, with Rose's little intermezzo.
Awesome.
6. Sound Judgement
The previous 3 songs were for Jade, Dave and John respectively. Then you WOULD think the next one would be for Rose, but looking at the title I'm having a feeling it's going to be for a different CH4R4CT3R. Looks like the next song WILL be for Rose though!
YES, TRACK ART FOR TEREZI INDEED.
Looks like it's for her fight with Gamzee!
Ahahaha, plainWonder's right, that's a sneaky
( face there on the ground.
Oh man, it's going to contain traces of Terezi's Theme and Harlequin!!! Oh god yes, I have a feeling this is going to be a really good song for the struggle between Terezi and Gamzee.
Are the two songs going to mix in a way that is similar as to how Showtime and Liquid Negrocity mixed in the previous song?
And the fact that this is made by Malcolm Brown is very very promising as well! I just love his songs.
I just really like how this album is finally giving us some soundtrack for Homestuck scenes that didn't receive a fitting song yet.
*starts listening*
Fuck yes, the Terezi's Theme references start out really strong! Woah, it's used in a really epic way.
Wow, I'm imagining with each of those beats that Terezi's inflicting a stab wound on Gamzee. I'm imagining this represents when Terezi still has the upperhand.
Oh god it's getting more clowny.
WELL THERE'S A HARDCORE HARLEQUIN. Reminds me of the Rock Version of Harlequin.
Wow Gamzee's Harlequin really takes over.
Aaaaaand there's Terezi's part again.
Dang that was another really cool song. This album is EPIC so far.
7. Aggrievocation
Ooooh boy, I think this is going to be ANOTHER epic Strife theme. There sure are quite a few of those on this album!
It's definitely going to be something for Rose or Jasprosesprite^2. Probably versus The Condesce!
*clicks*
Yup, definitely Rose!
And hey, it's by Mark Hadley! Awesome to see him again!
Oh yeah, he's also the one who originally created Aggrieve! So one final epic repise of Aggrieve, here we go!
*starts listening*
BOOYEAH, WELCOME TO THE PARTY MOTHERFUCKERS.
AGGRIEVE TO THE MAX.
Oh god this is so good
WHY IS EVERYTHING ALWAYS SO WONDERFUL.
Wow, Mark Hadley is doing an AMAZING job on this. It sounds kind of Tensei-like in the way it ROCKS OUT.
8. Stride
Hehe, another something for Dave and Dirk I assume?
*clicks*
OH MY GOD.
LOOK AT THAT.
Dave and Dirk together on the meteor! So, I think this song/track-art wants to imply that once they all entered the new universe, they came back to the meteor at some point?
Sounds reasonable enough to me!
Hehe, Dave on that Terezi computer like in canon.
So, this will probably be a song for Dave and Dirk just having fun together, listening to music (like Dave and Karkat did together in [S] Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5)!
Awesome!
...Wait a second. *squints eyes* KARKAT'S IN THE BACKGROUND. Pfffff, great job hiding there Karkat.
Apparently it will contain traces of Moonsetter and Showdown!!! Well then!
Yeah, Moonsetter was already sort of Dirk's song on Volume 9, so it seems it will be like that again in this song! While Showdown for Karkat... God, Showdown never gets enough attention in other songs, haha.
And I think this might be one of the very first Moonsetter remixes I've ever heard!
So, perhaps this song is meant to indicate Dirk and Karkat fighting for Dave's attention? Karkat might be jealous that Dave starts spending so much time with Dirk, after they spent 3 years together on that meteor. That's a really interesting idea.
Let's see!
...
That beginning reminds me a bit of Terezi's records in that one flash.
OH HI MOONSETTER.
Woah, Moonsetter with a beat.
Yeah, like plainWonder's saying, it's like Dave and Dirk are mixing songs together!
It DOES sound a bit like Dave's mixes in Jade's Fruit Jamz!
GOD I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD SWING THIS HARD TO MOONSETTER.
HEY LOOK SHOWDOWN IS COMING.
...."Hey Cal"? Oh uh, hey there.
Wooooooooow, Moonsetter and Showdown mix together REALLY WELL.
Goooood, this really was an epic throwback to those Fresh Jamz from all that time ago.
And hey, this song was way less 'hostile' than I expected? I thought it might be, like, a conflict between Dirk and Karkat, but instead it's more like they're all having fun together, mixing songs!
So maybe the track-art isn't really PERFECT for this, perhaps it would have been better if Karkat had been sitting there with them. Ah well.
Hey wow, I just noticed that Dave's record isn't split in two there! N'awww, he's whole again now.
9. Skaian Overdrive*
No idea what to expect from this one, other than perhaps a Skaian Skirmish remix!
Perhaps it's a Bec Noir song?
*clicks*
OOOOOOH, THAT CHESS THING FROM DESCEND. With a sneaky Black King in the background!
Hehe, not who I was expecting this song for, but I'll take it!
A song for the Battlefield conflict then in general, probably!
Huh... not actually Skaian Starstorm? What's that about? Did they first call it Skaian Starstorm instead of Skaian Overdrive and then they corrected it or something?
Great to see Thomas Ferkol again! It's been some time!
Apparently it'll be a Skaian Ride remix!
*starts listening*
ROCK OUT MOTHERFUCKER.
Oh my god, ROCK VERSION OF SKAIAN RIDE. The thing I never knew I wanted.
FUCK YES.
Such a DARK version of Skaian Ride. That's just really, really cool. A very good song for the Dersite army on the Battlefield!
10. Freefall
Sooooo... who's this going to be for? John, maybe?
*clicks*
WOW THAT TRACK-ART.
Looks like it's for Cascade! I see a bunch of events of it in there, John and Jade on the Battleship, Rose and Dave at the Green Sun, Bilious Slick being attacked, the Frog Temple being attacked, Bec Noir attacking WV, and Snowman being killed!
So, will this song be meant for those kinds of events from Cascade?
I'm pretty curious now.
*starts listening*
Huh... that beginning reminds me of something, but I'm not sure of what.
SUDDENLY CASCADE.
Oh god yes.
Wow, a Cascade remix!!!!
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!
Wow my god this IS SO COOL.
For all these years I've been wondering why I never heard a remix of Cascade AND NOW IT'S HERE.
Wow it's so cool to swing out to this.
Daaaaaayum, this is surprisingly ROCKING of Robert J! Lake.
(Random thought: I only just noticed how those events in the track-art are depicted in shards of the Fourth Wall.)
Hell. Fucking. Yes.
This was so amazingly cool.
11. Moonsweater
Oh boy, looks like this is going to be a long song! Seems like it will be the biggest Sun/Moon song so far? The name suggests a remix of Moonshatter and/or Moonsetter, probably!
As for who this song would be for, I'd assume Equius and/or Arquiusprite, what with the "sweat" part of the name.
*clicks*
MIDNIGHT CREW. Holy shit, can't say I was expecting THAT! Hehe, makes sense with the "moon" part in any case!
Also holy shit that trackart is so cool. So much detail! They all have ties in the form of their associated symbol, the stuff they put on the table is some of their belongings we've seen in the comic, the jukebox has that MC picture on it, the Felt hitlist WITH A KNIFE THROUGH SNOWMAN'S SPOT.
I like how Spades Slick's sitting with his shoes on the table.
HOLY FUCK I DIDN'T NOTICE THAT BEC NOIR SHADOW AT FIRST. Daaaaaaang. The shadow of Slick! Who he could have possibly become.
And like plainWonder noticed, it's like CD noticed the shadow!
"With apologies to Toby Fox (Contains themes from Moonsetter)" Ahahahaha, lol. But fuck yeah, Moonsetter let's do this!
And yessssssssssss, A Lunatics Daydream, this gonna be epic!
*starts listening*
JAZZYYYYYY. Immediately pure Midnight Crew!
Hey, there's the Moonsetter's melody!
Oh god this is so cool. Moonsetter performed in the instruments of the Midnight Crew!
And yeah, like plainWonder's suggesting, it bears resemblances to Blue Atom, which was also by A Lunatics Daydream.
Goooood, this is another cool song to swing out to.
It's like the Midnight Crew's actually performing this song on stage somewhere, haha.
So chiiiiiiiiiiiill this song!
I really got nothing else to say about it. This album continues to be fucking awesome.
12. Castle
Hmm, so I can't think of anything here but those Skaian castles.
The name doesn't SOUND too thrilling, but if I look at the previous songs on this album, it's probably going to be something really cool as well!
*clicks*
...Huh! Karkat, Terezi, WV and Vriska in a castle? Where's that?
Perhaps plainWonder's right that it's perhaps a scene in the Dreambubbles?
It reminds me a bit of that scene where John and WV are walking through the hallways of that castle while Vriska talks to John.
Oh hiiii, it's Buzinkai again! Great to see he's got another song on this album, even though it's a short one.
*starts listening*
More Doctor-like sounds, hehe.
Sounds pretty spooky! Like they're walking through a very, very creepy castle or something.
Yeah this could be a good song for a game!
Short, but pretty sweet nonetheless!
13. Skaian Happy Flight
Oh boy, sounds like it'll be a Skaian Flight remix! Maybe with a track-art of John and WV in Dad's car, flying over the Battlefield?
*clicks*
Well, at least I got it right that it's John on the Battlefield, haha!
Wait... *squints eyes* Oh my god that's a sneaky Andrew and Falcor in the background, pffff.
*starts listening*
YEP, THERE'S YOUR HAPPY SKAIAN FLIGHT ALRIGHT.
Niiiiiiiiice, this is really cool! Somewhat more up-tempo, and... triumphant-like!
AWESOME, Song of Skaia! Another song on this album in which it is used!
Fuck yeah.
Haha, for a second it seemed to me like it was going to transition into the Squiddles theme, near the end of the song.
Daaaang, another nice job Beatfox!
That's a song really good for making you happy!
14. Voidlight
Alright, time for what I assume will be a Rose/Roxy song! Pretty curious what kind of song it will be! Could go either way.
*clicks*
Huh, so it's for the Green Sun's destruction! That definitely wasn't something I'd been thinking of there, haha.
It's probably going to be a pretty dark song then!
*starts listening*
Niiiiice. It's kind of dark and... soothing at the same time. Yeah, that fits pretty well with the Green Sun's destruction actually!
The way it fades out by the end fits really well with how the last part of the Green Sun fizzles away.
15. Beatdown DX
Ooooh boy, time for another Beatdown song! So, another Dave/Dirk song then?
I'm pretty curious in what way the Beatdown melody will be used here!
*clicks*
NOOOOOOPE, it's Dave/Bro! Ooooh shit. We're probably going full out in that case!
And look, it's by Curt Blakeslee!!!! Fuck yes! So glad to see him again.
I wonder if it's going to be a lot like the original, or if it's going to be more... dark. To reflect how Dave's opinion on Bro has changed. The track-art does seem to be kind of pointing that way.
Oh boy.
*starts listening*
Oh god, 8-bit! Definitely not what I was expecting. 8-BIT BEATDOWN, SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW I WANTED.
Oh dang this is catchy. Pretty poppy!
So freaking cool.
It's surprisingly... happy-sounding! Maybe not so fitting with the pretty "dark" track-art here. Perhaps showing Dave and Dirk would have been a bit more appropriate?
I love the looping effects in this song.
Oh wow, there's some pretty weird effects in the last minute. Pretty trippy, hahaha.
Another masterpiece on this album, for sure!
16. Solar Voyage
Okay. So, the teaser seemed to hint this will be a song for Bec Noir and PM's voyage through the Furthest Ring? Not exactly who I'd have thought of with the track title!
I have a feeling that in atmosphere it might be similar to Voidlight.
*clicks*
LOOK AT ALL THOSE NAMES. Shadolith! BOWMAN! JIT! Plazmataz! Tensei!!!! Holy shit! VOCALS!
I was fearing there'd be nothing by Bowman on this album, because I'd previously heard he was moving on or something. So it's great to see counter-evidence here!
And Jit!!! So great to see him again too.
Oh god two people doing the vocals... voices for Bec Noir and PM?
Oh dear.
I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a song. And also a long one!
*starts listening*
RUINS. OH FUCK YES. YES YES YES TO THE MAX.
Sounds like pretty standard Ruins for now... (probably going to change really soon)
There we have a second instrument!
...Silence...
FLAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
GOD YES
YES YES YES
Ruins and Flare go together really well together!
GUUUIITAAAAAR together with Flare oh god yes.
Oh god I hadn't noticed it's actually doing RUINS on guitar, woooooow!
This is building up to something really good!
EXPLORE OH MY HEART. F_*SEFHLIEFHSDMFHZMETSHF
FLARE WITH EXPLORE MY GOD.
IS THIS A DREAM
I CAN'T TAKE THIS.
Hopy SHIT this was too cool for words. Somehow, any song with the Explore melody in it automatically becomes one of my favourites, I don't know why! Hahaha.
plainWonder has a really good point that all 3 songs are pretty apocalyptic-like! And now that I think about it, Ruins is kind of the apocalyptic song for B2, Explore for B1, and Flare for A2 when you think about it!
So... cool.
This volume owns. THAT'S ALL THERE REALLY IS TO SAY ON THE MATTER.
17. Feel (Alive)
Okay, I have NO idea what to expect for this one. I like plainWonder's suggestion it might be something for Vriska!
*clicks*
...Huh! Art for the pre-retcon meteor crew, plus... Jade? Not sure of the meaning behind it, combined with the track name, but alright hehe.
Composition by Luke Benjamins! I don't think that's a familiar name!
Let's see...
*starts listening*
Oh gooood another 8-bit like song.
Pretty up-tempo!
I feel more... alive already.
...Huh. The melody around 1:15 sounds vaguely familiar to me, but I don't know from what! Oh yeah, that calm part at the beginning of Heir of Grief is what I was thinking of!
It sounded... pretty special! Not bad. Certainly not one of my favourites on this album, but definitely not bad!
18. Breeze
Now if this isn't a John song, I don't know anymore. Or maybe it's LOWAS or Battlefield.
*clicks*
Yup, looks like John!
Heeeey, Jit!
Probably going to be a pretty calm song!
*starts listening*
Yep!
Another very soothing song, and very fitting for The Breeze.
I think it's one of the best relaxing songs on this album so far! It's really good.
I really like the diversity in the song. It's not continuously the same, there's plenty of different things in it!
Not sure what else to say about it!
19. Starfall
Possibly another song for the Green Sun's destruction?
*clicks*
Noooope, for a much earlier scene from the comic apparently! And it's by Solatrus!
Pretty curious to hear what this one will sound like.
I'm usually not TOO big of a fan of Solatrus' style, but he does have some pretty sweet songs.
*starts listening*
Starts out surprisingly calm.
When suddenly a beat!
Yeah this is a pretty good song for the apocalypse going down.
Oh man, the song is going in quite a different direction than I first expected!
Alright, that was surprisingly cool! Another good addition to this album.
20. Ascend
Oooooh boy. The name of this song is very, VERY promising. Is it in any way going to be in any way similar to Descend?? That would be amazing. Descend really was the best at mixing so many songs together. I like how Descend was 4:13 long and this is 6:12 long.
Also, pretty curious about the track-art! Something to do with God Tiers, or maybe the end of the comic?
*clicks*
John and Aradia! Definitely not the track-art I was expecting, ahahaha.
Hmm, perhaps because they're the "main" human God Tier and the "main" Troll God Tier?
The mere fact that this is made by Tensei is also very promising.
LET'S DO THIS.
*starts listening*
Starting out surprisingly calm.
SAVIOR OF THE WAKING WORLD. HI THERE. And actually more in the instrument style of Doctor itself!
Yeah this is sounding like a pretty good God Tier music!
Woooow, that beat on the melody!
Wow, some hardcore suddenly.
BEAAAATDOOOOOWN OH YES.
More Savior of the Waking World, oh yeah!
ARISEN ANEW. Yes!!!! God why haven't there been more remixes of that?
CRYSTALANTHEMUMS THANK YOU FOR JOINING US.
God this is so cool.
This really is like a God Tier celebration song.
Wait what's that melody around 3:30 again? It sounds familiar.
Oh man Tensei's pulling out all stops on this one.
HOMESTUCK ANTHEM OH MY HEART.
Uh. It's slowing down.
Wait. What's that melody?
SHOWTIME. YES IT'S SHOWTIME. GOD YES.
Damn that was an awesome song.
21. Lilith In Starlight
Pretty curious who this will be for! Lilly's and light would suggest Rose, in any case.
But heh, another song with "star" in its name.
*clicks*
N'awww, Rose and Kanaya dancing together. That's sweet.
Oh hell yes, it's another song by Malcolm Brown!
And it references Black Hole / Green Sun, Aggrieve and Darling Kanaya!!!!!! Oh goooooood, that sounds amazing.
Have we ever had a remix of Darling Kanaya before, actually?
*starts listening*
Immediately starting off with Black Hole / Green Sun! In a musicbox type of way, that's really cool. So... calm.
This actually makes for a really good song for dancing a slow too.
Wooooow, Aggrieve in such a calm way!
AND THEN WE BECOME UPTEMPO.
OH FUCK IT'S PUMPKIN PARTY IN SEA HITLER'S WATER APOCALYPSE I THINK.
AND THE PUMPKIN PARTY TRULY BURSTS LOOSE.
This is fucking amazing. I've been dreaming of a remix of that song for so long!
Oh god I hadn't even noticed yet where Darling Kanaya comes in!
Gooood yes.
This is the best fucking Rosemary song I could have ever wished for. Malcolm Brown, you're the best.
22. Thanks for Playing
Oh boy. I think this is probably going to be a really cool slow kind of song... Perhaps a bit like Farewell on LOFAM?
Hehe, maybe it will be Rose and Kanaya in the track-art again.
*clicks*
N'awww, that's really cool track-art. So many of our main heroes... no Jane, Dirk or Jake though. Oh well.
I have a feeling this song might tear me up.
*starts listening*
Huh... the beginning reminds me of Gold Pilot!!! That's actually really cool.
Yeah, I think it might be a remix of that!
Fuck yes.
At 1:30 where it become more uptempo it reminds me of Litrichean Rioghail a bit.
Wow... this is a really good goodbye song. Awesome.
23. Renewed Return
Soooooo, I guess this will probably be a remix of Revered Return? I wonder who it will be for. It might be a song for post-retcon Vriska? God DAMN it's a long song though. Isn't this, like, the longest song in the Homestuck discography, other than Cascade?
*clicks*
Jane! Can't say I was expecting that one, haha.
For a second I was pretty confused by the face she was making, until I realized that what I thought were her eyebrows were actually her closed eyes, haha.
Oh man, there's lyrics in this song!!!
*starts listening*
That first beat made me think of that part in the middle of Eternity's Shylock.
BUT WOW IT'S ACTUALLY ZILLYHOO OH MY GOD.
A version of Zillyhoo for Jane that's PERFECT.
Wow... it sounds even more church and spiritual-like than the original.
SUDDENLY MORE UPBEAT.
Oh yes I like where this melody is going.
OH MY FUCKING GOD IT'S CALAMITY, YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
Oh hell fucking yes. Perfect combination with the general Warhammer of Zillyhoo song.
And now it's going slower again...
God this is a good song.
HI THERE SAVIOUR OF THE WAKING WORLD.
I can never get enough of remixes of Doctor/Saviour of the Waking World.
Huh... the melody at 5:10 sounds familiar to me as well... can't put my finger on what it is though.
SKIES OF SKAIA AS WELL, HOLY SHIT.
Oh god even the choir is doing the Saviour of the Waking World melody, this is so fucking perfect.
Yeah, like plainWonder's saying, it's really cool that this song ends the same way Doctor did.
That.
Was.
So.
Cool.
Can I just say that I love how this album used Skies of Skaia in so many songs in such a perfet way?
*scrolls down*
Holy crap, there were a lot of people who worked on this song! Not really familiar names other than Marcy Nabors, but still pretty fucking impressive!
24. THIS Pumpkin
It amuses me so much that the penultimate Homestuck song released by What Pumpkin is called THIS Pumpkin. xD
I have no idea what the track-art could be. Trickster Jake putting that pumpkin on Roxy's head?
On the other hand, there's many other Homestuck-related possibilities as well, hehe.
*clicks*
PSYCHE, it's fucking PROBLEM SLEUTH track-art!
Holy shit. The first and final song on the Homestuck bandcamp that is meant for Problem Sleuth, haha.
Oh man.
I think I've heard it before, but I don't really recall what it was like.
*starts listening*
RIGHT. Pumpkin Cravings! I forgot this song featured that melody.
Oh god yes it's even better than I remembered.
It's just a dramatic rendering of Pumpkin Cravings, haha.
Heheh, this "wild goose chase" music makes me imagine Problem Sleuth actually chasing that pumpkin, haha.
Not much else to say on the matter! Another really great song, and I appreciate the meta-ness of this whole thing.
25. Conclude
...Fuck. The final Homestuck song on the final official Homestuck album.
I'm getting pretty emotional up in here!
After the awesomeness of all the previous tracks, I'm very curious what they've chosen to be the final one.
In any case, it's going to be a very long one!
For the track-art, I wouldn't be surprised if it depicts a scene from Act 7.
Come on, let's do this for the final time!
*clicks*
N'awww. John sitting in the yard of his home where it all began, looking up at the Homestuck sun with the "THANKS FOR PLAYING" message...
OH MY HEART.
But really, this is the best possible art for the very final song.
I have a feeling this song probably won't be 'epic' or anything, but just a really soothing goodbye.
I wonder if there are going to be any familiar melodies in it?
Oh man, here we go. *gulp*
*starts listening*
Sburban Jungle! Never thought it could be so relaxing...
Wow...
SHOWTIME. YES. IN ITS PIANO REFRAIN VERSION, THE VERY FIRST SONG IN HOMESTUCK. WITH THE BREEZE IN THE BACKGROUND.
MY HEART CAN'T TAKE THIS.
The awesomeness doesn't stop from keep happening...
At 3:10 it almost sounded like Bed of Rose's...
Homestuck Anthem! Of course htat couldn't be absent here...
WHEN SUDDENLY MORE TEMPO IN THE SONG.
WHAT'S HAPPENING.
So triumphant, oh my god.
Aaaaaand there we have Homestuck Anthem back!
Very brief Skies of Skaia near the end!
Goooood.
...And that's it.
The end.
The end of the song, the end of the album, the end of the Homestuck bandcamp.
This was the perfect ending music album for the perfect webcomic.
God do I love Homestuck so much.
This album really was extraordinarily good. It was more than worth it to wait 4 years for Volume 10 to be released.
This was definitely, to me, the best album in the entire discography.
Amazing job you amazing Homestuck musicians. You have created so many incredible songs in the past 7 years and definitely made the Homestuck comic even more magical.
