A pocket knife sits on the dresser, which you hastily bought yesterday since you're too intimidated by guns. You have little experience using it. Should you bring it? Don't bring it if you think you can hold your own in a fistfight with the people you're visiting. Wouldn't want them to find it accidentally and then have to explain things to them. Look around the room. Is there anything else you could pocket?

No. Don't bring the pocket knife. You're not a trained combatant. If things get too hot, dial the police, but you'll not likely need it. The murderer is trying to lay low.
And for that matter, whichever of your friends are still your friends, you'll be there to be there for them. Not to scare them off.
Bring some snacks/food. You'll be out for a while.

>Might as well bring it along until our pockets need the room. Don't bring it if you think you can hold your own in a fistfight with the people you're visiting. And for that matter, whichever of your friends are still your friends, you'll be there to be there for them. Not to scare them off. Your mind is at a stalemate in terms of agreement, so you go with the more logical choice and place it back on the dresser.
You don't think you could bring yourself to hurt anyone on purpose, anyway. >Alternatively, knife the pocket It could surely take a stab at it.
>
It was knife to meet you! (No pockets were harmed in the making of these puns)
Look around the room. Is there anything else you could pocket? You open the first dresser drawer, and are presented with many items to choose. A granola bar, a pen, a phone charger, a set of keys, some spare change, loose papers, a guitar pick, and your lock picking tools. Bring some snacks/food. You'll be out for a while. You take the granola bar.
Nature Valey energy bar acquired! (Not to be confused with it's competitor, Nature Valley)

Why do you have lock picking tools? Are you a locksmith apprentice or something?

>Take phone charger. >Take keys. >Take lock picking tools. Items acquired. Though you seem to have exceeded your maximum capacity. >Take the pen and the note Since you're unable to take any more items you should probably find a bag later.
Since you also have 6 out of the space of 5 it's more likely for things to fall out of your pockets if you're not careful. Why do you have lock picking tools? Are you a locksmith apprentice or something? You've never worked with a locksmith.
You were bored one day and thought it would be a cool skill to learn from the internet. So you've been practicing for a while, after buying some tools from home depot. Not that you had breaking into a person's house in mind(even if it seemed like it). Mostly just a back up plan if you lock yourself out of your apartment.
You can open most front door locks but nothing more complicated than that.

Should you call ahead, so your friend knows that you're coming over?

>Are you confident enough in your lock-picking to leave your keys behind? Maybe under the welcome mat? You've unlocked your apartment door before(for practice and when you actually forgot your keys).
But you don't want to put it in any place that... certain people could get to it anyway. (You also need the second key, just in case). > What's the second key on the keyring for? The second key is a copy of G's dorm key that she gave to you in case of emergencies(and also because she doesn't want you picking her lock). It really does make you happy to know how much trust she has in you.
There was also supposed to be a third key that opens the basement of the apartment building. Everyone that lives here is allowed a copy, but you've recently misplaced it. It's not like you go there often though, so you haven't actively searched for it. Should you call ahead, so your friend knows that you're coming over? Well he's the same as always. > Plug in charger to phone, then wrap the cord around phone. Boom! Space saving. Sure it's a little obnoxious, but you can always temporarily remove it. Feels a little weird but you'll make do.
>
You finally exit your room. Not that you were trapped in it or anything.
>
Your living room is a bit messy but nothing too bad to clean up.
Should you leave now?
