Anyway, there's something that's bothering me. Both Hexane and Homestuck feature characters with large wings, but they are somehow hidden away and not shown most of the time, unless it's important. The problem is that such large wings would interfere with simple function and would require specialized clothing to be worn, but apparently, it's possible to "hide" them under plain clothing... which is complete bull**** as an excuse if you think about it (It's not like no arms, 'cause that can be reasonably excused as just an artifact of the art style). So I propose the following headcanon. A nonhuman character's wings are captchalogued when not in use, when in use, equipped. It's kind of like how the Ruto from Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (who are similar to the phoenixes in many respects) have normal arms most of the time, but can "manifest" wings when needed (or thrown, as the case may be)

No, it's because I wasn't very good at drawing wings originally. If you'll notice, after Intermission 2, the phoenixes have their wings in every panel, including their basic sprites. Fact check before you say something rude, please.
...and I don't see how it's any more unrealistic than not having arms.

Dunno if this fits here, but I figure since there aren't exactly any other Hexane discussions, this should probably go here.
The Hexane wikia's hilariously outdated, last updated easily last February according to activity (haven't checked for a bit.)
Think we can update it once this starts back up?

Be my guest, I'm not really affiliated with it and it's not really my job to do it. If you want it to be up to date, then update it.

By the way, if anyone here has composing and remixing skills, I'm thinking about the future of Hexane and I've decided that at least the final flash should have music that isn't just an edited MIDI. If you're interested, contact me. I'm totally willing to pay for your time.

I... I apologize. I really do. ****. I guess I do have a tendency to try to point out inaccuracies or stuff that doesn't make sense; I probably got it from being surrounded with soft science fiction when I know how things should be... I've read too much Atomic Rockets. Again, I apologize. I should have gone back to determine if what I was saying was correct.

Wow. Uh, after seeing like four people in a row in a different thread talk about how there's nothing wrong with incest, I don't really think I want to be on these forums anymore if that's what most of it's users are like. Hexane updates on the 19th, I'm out.

I know exactly which thread you are talking about due to stumbling upon it myself, and I will say that if you were to actively try and get yourself offended on this forum by other people's opinions, that is the single best choice you could have made.
Now, it may be too late by this point, but I'm fairly confident that that thread is not indicative of the forum's community at all.

Yeah, okay. That's a valid reason. Good luck, and I'm looking forward to both the end of Hexane and when you continue your other stuff.

I finally, FINALLY (it's been what, four years since I got this tablet?) got pressure sensitivity working in terms of transparency, so I drew these to test it out. The second one also comes in 1920x1080p if you're looking for a new wallpaper.

Anyway, is it just me, or does Viy have parallels with Sauron. I mean, both have an "all seeing eye" as their symbol, created corrupted servants from "high men" (elves for Sauron and Atlanteans for Viy), and were banished a long time ago but are waiting to return. And then there's the fact that Numeror was similar to Atlantis and the pheonixes are somewhat elfish (or Eldarish, if you're into Warhammer 40K. So I guess Viy has parallels with Slannesh as well).

Well done on the unintentional parallels.

Also, is it just me, or do the phoenixes have parallels with the Eldar from Warhammer 40K? I mean, both are the remnants of a great empire that were destroyed by their own creation (Slaanesh for the Eldar and Viy for the Atlanteans), both live in giant spaceships (craftworlds for the Eldar), and, well, just look at this: Heck, the greatest Eldar Warriors are called "Phoenix Lords."

Uh, gutza? Might wanna fix your image there.
Also, it makes sense that they'd have parallels, they both draw from similar trope wells in the "precursor civilization that self-destructed" vein.

As someone who's never touched Warhammer 40k and frankly find its entire setting ridiculous, any similarities are purely coincidental.
...and yeah, you're going to want to fix that image.

This song serves a basic summary. ... Anyway, about the rude wing comment... It was really more of a complaint about Homestuck's treatment of winged characters. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

It clearly wasn't. And it's called an art style, even I, someone who hates Homestuck, can see that and not complain about it. And another thing, don't you know it's kind of rude to constantly point out how "similar" someone's original creation is to something else? Especially when they're not similar at all. I don't see how those pictures you posted were phoenix-like in the slightest.

He's not being rude. What he's doing is noting parallels, and is in fact a VERY common thing for fans to do.
Just because you don't like a work does not mean that other people can't, and find similarities between it and yours. Gutza is being very enthusiastic about this, and hasn't once said anything mean, or otherwise negative about your work, so stop lambasting him for all these perceived slights.
