The infamous ending of Mass Effect was actually the first thing I thought of when I watched Act 7. Then again, I'm one of the few people who actually liked the end of ME, so I'm not sure why I thought of that. I am completely amazed that FOAL predicted the "weird honk from vent shaft" refrance before it happened. He truly is the Seer of Sbahj (in addition to whatever else we had him as) I'm half-tempted to tell him something along the lines of "not Mass Effect, we're hoping for more of an Evangelion thing here" but I won't because Soeroah will get mad at me I don't want to spoil him. (No, seriously, nobody do that. Do like Trix with Nora and keep a "Dave Strider pokerface" (yes that's literally what she told me when I asked her what she was gonna tell Nora), for FOAL's sake.)

My sake or FOAL's?
Regardless, I had the ability to tell my brother what the general consensus about the ending was before he watched it. I didn't, and he found it satisfying. I didn't know if he'd find it satisfying, I was worried he wouldn't, but thankfully he enjoyed it about as much as the rest of the comic. Point is, we can't know exactly how people will react to things, so trying to 'prepare' them (which, why? aren't you looking for a reaction?) for something we THINK they might not like is something of a flawed effort; if you tell someone an ending is disappointing when it turns out they'll like it, they'll spend however long it takes between you saying so and experiencing it setting expectations based on what THEY will find disappointing. Sometimes this will pan out in such a way they'll predict what happens, sometimes they'll be surprised and realise they actually enjoyed it and all that was lost was their hype.
If at some point they catch up, that's when we can interact with them in such a manner. Until then, letting on our opinions only serves to damage the integrity of another person's experience, the point of following a Liveblog and is somewhat disrespectful to their opinions by way of assuming we know better, or know what they would like based off some words we've seen from them in the past. Even knowing what they like with a 95% accuracy doesn't mean they might feel differently about the same thing; my brother and I largely like the same tropes or fictions and the like, we recommend things to each other with a high chance of the other loving it, but there are certain things that one of us will not like that the other does regardless.
On a slightly different note;
It amuses me somewhat that when I get narky about spoilers, I'm often told "it's about the journey, not the destination", yet when an ending turns out to be less than what people hoped suddenly the majority of people are so irate some of them go so far as to retroactively change their opinion of the experience as a whole and consider the effort to be a waste of time.
I've always felt the journey and the destination were inextricably linked, and the current situation does nothing to change that opinion. Nor make it any less annoying when I'm told that same ridiculous line.

To be fair I won't say the ending of Homestuck ruined the experience for it, but before Act 7 I placed Homestuck in a sacred pedestal of "my favorite works of fiction ever", and now I don't feel like doing that anymore.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you (though at times your policy is way too strict, like, not showing livebloggers music they should have access to because they might recognize in future flashes? Come on now!) But yeah, no, I meant FOAL. It was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment about how I wanted to comment but wasn't going to, hence the strikethrough. To be fair I won't say the ending of Homestuck ruined the experience for it, but before Act 7 I placed Homestuck in a sacred pedestal of "my favorite works of fiction ever", and now I don't feel like doing that anymore. Personally, the ending moved it from "holy shit this is the greatest piece of literature ever made in history!" to "fuck everything I want to punch Hussie in the face and never see this crappy comic ever again" to "okay it was fine I guess. I mean, depending on how the epilogue goes I might still hold it up as my favorite work of fiction, sorta"... (I may have an overexcitement problem. Maybe.) Anyway, Aron papaya! The immortal soulless gaze of the Devil Immortal? Yes. Devil? Yes. Soulless? I fucking wish.

Do you mean Ryan or Aron? Because I think I recognize that line from Aron's papaya... So I guess they just gave up on trying to prototype anything? Isn’t that bad for the game somehow? SHOULDN’T SOMETHING BE FUCKING HAPPENING RIGHT NOW WHAT THE HELL IS SHE SUPPOSED TO DO? Seriously does she need to cut the tree down? Climb it? What? Or it’ll just activate on its own with no input from Jane. That’s… oddly fitting given how little she’s actually been doing aside from damaging her house and making a fool of herself when talking to Jake. So I guess that’s when the alien Empress appeared? Or has she been hanging around and she just missed her chance to blow up Jane after her other assassination attempts failed? This isn't the reaction I was anticipating from him upon seeing Jane's neighborhood not get flattened by a meteor after all, making me wonder if he quite grasped what he was seeing. Obviously there's no need to clarify too much with Rose's exposition upcoming, but I think the only thing it clarifies about Jane's actual entry is the concept of a void session and reminding him of what Jade's bringing. But upon seeing where Dirk lives: Well, when you see where he gets his food, you'll think Alpha!Dave is a more fucked-up parent than Bro even with the excuse of not being alive. He loves just the prospect of Karkat's memo so much. Hold on. Dave’s room has cinderblocks in it and Rose plays the violin, and GG’s handle is “gardengnostic” so it makes sense that the flowerpot applies to her. Is John the jetpack? Is this foreshadowing for a freaky four-way endgame fusion? The mysteries continue to pile. :0 Does anyone catch that linkage this early? Yeah, you better get used to it, because it's not going to stop being a thing that happens. That... won't stop us from being uncomfortable about it. On behalf of Homestucks everywhere. Would that have been an Aradia reference he didn't know about even though that wouldn't have been until 2010? Well, various parts of that theory are oddly relevant in unexpected ways... Assuming you're referring to the sword and not Cal, no, it's a CHEAP PIECE OF SHIT.

Yeah, that would be Aron; Ryan, I think, is LOFAS's real name, but we never call him or anyone else that.

Also, is this some meta or what? I mean look, you have a 4-monitor terminal, complete with a metal roof and chimney on it, and it’s displaying the SBURB icon, so it’s displaying itself. If you think this is meta... well let's just say that this isn't anywhere near the most recursive screen layout you'll see.

Oh, hello! Good to see you here! I just finished watching your Act 7 reaction. You can find a lot of speculation on the end here on the forums. And also you can watch other livebloggers' progress. So welcome! Hope you'd have a good time here.

Aron reached WV: Ascend! Who knew a webcomic about a kid fucking around in his house would turn into a messy pile of trauma and suffering? Rose had better alchemise like a billion therapists after they’re done (and if they survive. Shit. I hope nobody dies that would not be a fun time.) There's a million people yet to die. Just you w8. Just you w8888.... Good blogger. Best memer. ...uhh, did I say "best memer"? Umm, no, what I actually meant was... uhh... ummm fuck I fucked up I fucked up second..best? memer? Yeah. That's what I meant. Nobody can beat Rune in a meme-off, heheh... they're simply the best there is. Heh. Heh... Anyway... Nope. The sooner you learn that, the less you'll suffer. They learn so fast :') The Mayor deserves to be happy. That is non-negotiable. Everyone agrees. Even people who're still in Act 2 agree.

That said if it leads to Terezi and Karkat hooking up I’d probably be okay with it."
Oh man he is going to have a hell of a time progressing through Act 6. And he actually does ship two characters now!
