So I'm here still learning my bass, playing it everyday and such (recently learned how to do octaves and learned Purple Haze). But I've been trying to get playing and singing down as well. While at the same time learning to play a song without looking down to play. Anybody have any tips or advice that could help me out here? With learning to play and sing? Also playing an instrument won't affect the vocals will it?

In my experience, the vocals themselves aren't effected much, just your ability to focus on hitting the right notes. The only recommendation that I can make with certainty is that practice is paramount to being able to play an instrument with divided focus, so practice as much as you can.

i used to play the bass in my high school days, and i would try to sing along to the song as well, but as soon as i started to, my bass part would crash and burn. The only thing to do really is to just practice and repeat the part you are interested in; once you have your fingers muscle memory down, then start working in the song lyrics.
