[FOR ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND THE HIVESWAP SUBFORUM ARRANGEMENT PLEASE POST YOUR QUESTIONS HERE]
Hey all!
As you might have heard, What Pumpkin is now at PAX West, where a Hiveswap Demo can be played.
Because of this, and seeing as the actual releasedate of Hiveswap is only two weeks from now, I think it's time to start this separate Hiveswap subforum where from now on all Hiveswap discussion should go (and where the existing Hiveswap discussion thread has now moved to).
A short explanation on each existing thread in there will follow below, and is also featured in each thread separately.
Making new threads to discuss particular subjects should only happen if you're sure the thread can last more than just a few posts. If it's a topic that can be discussed at length and would certainly take away from general game content discussion, then it's fine to make a separate thread for it.
All of the current moderators and myself will continue to serve the same function for this new subforum, while banditAffiliate has joined us to help moderate this subforum.
Other than the below thread-specific rules, please respect the general rules.
And most of all, enjoy the game!
The main Hiveswap threads are:
1) Hiveswap Gameplay Help/Walkthrough Thread - USE SPOILER TAGS
This thread is meant for asking any questions if you need help during the game.
If you are for example stuck with a puzzle somewhere and don't know how to proceed, then this is the place where you can get help.
Now, this should be a place where you can get help WITHOUT being spoiled on the rest of the game. So if you ask a concrete question that could spoiler something for someone else, please put it inside a spoiler tag!
Similarly, when you answer a question, in pretty much every case you should use a spoiler tag to put your answer in. This way you don't spoil events/solutions for puzzles that other people are yet to encounter!
In your answer, also please be limited in the information you give, so that you don't accidentally give away too much information, because the person who's asking probably just wants the bare information needed to pass the thing they're stuck with and doesn't want to know too much else.
And when you answer a question, please quote the post with the question you are answering, so that it's clear for the person who asked the question that it's THEIR question that you are answering, and that they're safe to open your spoiler tag.
2) Hiveswap Game Content Discussion Thread - NO SPOILER TAGS
This thread is for discussing anything related to the content of the Hiveswap game!
If you enter this thread, you acknowledge that people can bring up anything related to the game, and that if you are not caught up with the game yet, you are at risk of being spoiled.
So, only read and participate in this thread if either you're fully caught up or don't mind being spoiled.
Posting (contentful) live reactions while you are still playing the game in here is also fine. Don't do too many small posts though, shortly after each other. Ideally if you're live-reacting, combine as much as possible into one post and leave at least a couple of hours between your posts so that you don't break up the regular discussion too much.
3) Hiveswap Meta Discussion/Questions
In this thread you can discuss and ask questions about anything related to the organisation of Hiveswap.
Questions and discussion related to the organisation of the different episodes/acts, Kickstarter, Steam, profit the game is making, merchandising, all of that is welcome in this thread!
Don't discuss anything related to the content of the game in here! That should go in one of the other stickied threads in this subforum.
4) Hiveswap/Hauntswitch Theories Thread - NO SPOILER TAGS
In here you can discuss any theories you have concerning future episodes of Hiveswap (or the upcoming Hauntswitch), or about elements of the story that are not explained during the game and are left up to interpretation.
If you've got theories that fit more into Homestuck the webcomic than in the videogames, then your theories should go over here.
In case you've got a theory that fits into both Hiveswap AND Homestuck the webcomic just as much, then I suggest posting it in this thread in case people check out the Homestuck theory thread but haven't played Hiveswap yet, so that they aren't spoiled.
