9/28/2017 yo. hey so most people seem to keep up with my adventure on MSPFA or discord instead of here so i recommend you do the same if you don't already! i'll still post updates here for exposure, but i'm not going to post much else here from now on, because it's tedious putting the same information on three different sites at the same time. i'm not very active on these forums anyway.
another thing: my buffer is mostly gone and school has started for me, but i'm still gonna update on thursdays until the end of act 1, as opposed to the plan i set for myself earlier, although schedule slips may happen every now and then. i'm gonna make the updates themselves shorter to avoid this, unless it makes the story flow better to post an update in a big chunk. this is just so you guys know. telling you this ahead of time will be less awkward than apologizing every single time i can't update.
also. if you like the comic, then join the discord. seriously, it's too quiet in there.
that's all. see ya!
i hope you enjoy! Update History:6/14/2017hi everybody, i'm back. i have sort of a lot of material ready to be posted, and i'm going to post it in bite-sized pieces every thursday for a while (excluding tomorrow because i'm posting the new update today). when i started a year ago, many schedule slips happened and it was just bad. this time i'm going to just go on hiatus again when i run out of content to post, and then come back when i have a new batch ready. sound good? as far as command suggestions go, the only things that are not filled out in my outline for the adventure are the sequences during every character introduction, so i encourage you to suggest commands for stupid names or shennanigans. in fact, you can even suggest things even when not during a character introduction and i might find a way to shove them in somewhere. the point is, the command suggestions are not unwelcome at all, even though this adventure has a set story. also, i set up a discord server as an alternative to the tumblr blog if you wanna ask me anything, suggest commands, send me memes or whatever.

hello! this is a fanadventure i started planning in 2012, later abandoned, then took up again when hs ended. there will be the usual: fantrolls, sgrub, etc. but i'm also throwing in my own fictional species into this, and i've made an effort to come up with a creative direction for the plot. i hope you enjoy it! i meant to start this on june 14th, because that's the day that corresponds to my story's first arc number (614), but my internet was out until today. (let's just pretend today is the 14th, ok). i'm going to aim to update every wednesday, but should i be unable for whatever reason, i'll make a post about it on the tumblr page i set up. i'll be posting update notices there too, as well as answering questions if you have any.i would love to get command suggestions! i'll be using them for character introductions, mostly, since my story is pretty tightly outlined, but there are times where i'll let the suggestions decide which character to select.Anyway, here we go! > Sgrub Upsilon

Somewhere on this planet, a young troll lies asleep in his respiteblock. Tonight, on the the 14th bilunar perigee of the 6th dark season's equinox, is a night he has been waiting for for a long time. Tonight, he will finally play a certain game with his friends.
But before anything can happen, this troll needs a name.

> Enter name.
Now that's just silly. Be a little more serious, will you? You don't want this poor kid to wake up and learn that he's been named something so rediculous, do you?
> Try again.
> Casmus: Wake up.
> Examine room.
Your name is CASMUS NAMLAK. You just woke up from a nap you didn't know you were taking.
You have an avid interest in PHOTOGRAPHY, as is plainly obvious from all of the photos scattered about your messy block. You mostly like to take pictures for fun, but you wouldn't mind developing your talents in this area a little bit more.
You also have a passion for COOKING, and you are PRETTY GOOD AT IT, despite the fact that you often do not have access to all of the necessary ingredients you need to make the dishes that you want to make, since you live in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, far away from the CITY where one would typically get groceries on Alternia, and thus have to rely on whatever few local ingredients you can get. You have somewhat alleviated this problem by learning how to GROW YOUR OWN HERBS. You also like to play VIDEO GAMES, but mostly just simple old RPG ones. Your computer isn’t really equipped to play big games, anyway, and you don’t own any game consoles, leaving your options rather limited.
Your trolltag is bracketingApocrypha and you A. usually speak in a calm tone of voice.
What will you do?

(sorry this took so long! also, i'll use more of your suggestions as i go along.) > Casmus: Go cook something.
You would, but for that you'd need to be in your victualblock. You'll be heading there soon anyway, since you haven't eaten yet, but for now, you should do something else.
> Casmus: Look at pictures.
Which pictures? You'll have to be a little more specific.
> Look at pictures on the wall above desk.
You put up some of your favorite pictures up here for display.
This first one is a landscape photo you sent to an artist friend of yours along with some other things. To your surprise he sent it back to you with a bit of artistic advice enclosed in a letter. You kept it and put it up next to the photo in question. It's pretty long, and spends several paragraphs talking about other things before getting to any of the gifts you sent.
This other one is from when another one of your friends came over to your hive for the first time, and threw a tantrum as soon as he saw the mess in here. You recorded it to commemorate the occasion, and because you wanted to mess with him a little. He was not pleased.
> Casmus: Examine box with pictures in it.
You take a LOT of pictures. So many that you cram them all into these boxes so your respiteblock doesn’t get overwhelmingly messy. This isn't even all of them. Your garretblock is filled with even more of these.
> Casmus: Examine dirty dishes.
Oh these. Yeah, you were going to take these back to get them cleaned. Eventually.
> Casmus: Take pan.
Okay, now what?
> Casmus: Allocate pan to strife specibus. You don't need to do that. You have already allocated your strife specibus to SCISSORKIND. You left your pair of scissors in another block of your hive, though. You'll have to go get them later.
> Casmus: Examine posters.
The poster on the right is of your favorite RPG of all time, MOTHER. Its three protagonists join together to stop a destruction-bent alien who cannot be defeated through normal means, and they do it using advanced psychic powers and the power of song, as corny as that sounds. It's set in an alternate world where young trolls are somehow raised by their ancestors instead of custodians, which are sometimes called 'Mothers' (hence the title), and where the way of life is idealized and upbeat.
The one on the left is a sketch your aforementioned artist friend made you of your favorite character from the game, the robot EVE. He said it was full of mistakes because he drew it quickly, but you assured him that it wasn't a big deal.
> Casmus: Captchalogue camera.
You captchalogue your camera in your PRESENT modus. This modus uses a randomization function, so you never know what will be in a card when you unwrap it, just like with a real-life present. Predictably, this leads to kind of an annoying trial-and-error process of item retrieval, but oh well. At least it doesn't require you to do any math.
> Casmus: Explore east side of block.
You use this notepad next to your recuperacoon for really important reminders to yourself. That and whenever you think of a good pun you want to use later.
Now that you're over here, you notice that you haven't opened your makeshift curtains yet.
> Casmus: Open curtains.
There, that's better. You really only need to have these closed during the day. The weird snuggleplane they're made out of was discovered by you when you were younger, on one of your rare trips to the city.
> Casmus: Check if anyone trolled you while you were asleep.
You were so busy being distracted by things in your block you've seen a hundred times before that you forgot to do that. Someone is indeed trolling you.
> Casmus: See who it is.
Looks like it's your captain.
The newest Trollian update lets you read and respond to this message without needing to maximize the program window. About time. It only took them what, 3 sweeps since the launch of the program? Seems like a feature that should have been implemented from the start.
> Casmus: Answer your captain.

You'd rather not do that. There are reasons why you didn’t just do that as soon as he got stuck in there.
This wall is part of the load bearing foundation of your hive, so if you were to break it open to get him out, you could have a major collapse on your hands. Plus, trying to pry him out by force would likely cause him harm and make him upset, as indicated by the IMAGINE SPOT DOODLE in the panel above, and you really don’t want to do that. Instead you've been working on feeding him a light diet, thinking maybe it'll thin him out enough eventually.
No big deal. You'll just take the other route and-

Slow down! First of all, why the heck would you need to captchalogue this wrapping paper when you can just get some anytime by slashing open any of your cards? Second, what use would you even have for torn wrapping paper? And finally, you haven't even answered the message yet. Better not keep your friend waiting too long.

You are also knee-deep in your love of VIDEO GAMES, with emphasis on FIRST-PERSON SHOOTERS, THIRD-PERSON SHOOTERS, and REAL-TIME STRATEGY GAMES. You also like to do a bit of writing, but it’s mostly for fun. You’re not really looking to develop your talents in the area much.
You think that TATTOOS and PIERCINGS are really cool, enough so that you would like to get some one day, and if it weren’t for the fact that those things are usually reserved for PRISONERS TO BE TORTURED or the COOLEST OF THE ARISTOCRACY (and also that you’re too scared to go through the pain), you totally would.

>Go play some TF2 (Troll Fortress 2) and light everyone on fire. >Mayera: Go play some TF2 (Troll Fortress 2) and light everyone on fire.
Like you don't already do that enough! You've got a different game to play today.
> Mayera: Explain why there is a pile of shoes in the middle of the floor.
It's complicated. To make it short, you have a lot of shoes, and you're trying to sort through them for your other teal one.
> Mayera: Examine bookshelf.
If there's one thing you love talking about, it's your book collection.
You have mostly modern books, but you can't ignore the classics like THE ASTRAL BEING and RANDEZVOUS WITH ARITANAH either or you'd risk being calssified as shallow sci-fi literature fan.
None of those gems have anything on THE PULSE, though.
> ===>
You reach for your copy of THE PULSE. It’s about the elegant space captain OLLAGADA SELSOLIS and her rag-tag misfit crew living aboard the spaceship THE ZENITH as they find themselves unearthing an ancient secret about the seemingly invincible EMPIRE that’s been ruling a considerable chunk of the galaxy for centuries.
Finding out this secret gives Selsolis the power she needs to overthrow the leader of the oppressive regime and help her crew return home to the loved ones they left behind when their home planets were conquered. (But of course, at the end they decide to remain on the Zenith with the Captain anyway because over the years they realized their true home was with her and the rest of the friends they made along the way!). And this is without mentioning all the symbolism! Oh goodness, THE SYMBOLISM!
You LOVE this book. It’s your favorite, and you GEEK OUT about it on a regular basis. Not that you ever really tell most people about the fact that you geek out, though. They would probably think you’re a loser for caring so much about something so silly.
> Mayera: Check out little table and The Pulse poster.
This is where you do your writing. You like to re-imagine the characters from some of your books and games in different settings and scenarios and write what you think the result might be. It started out as a small one-time thing, but now you've got massive amounts of dialogue and plots fleshed out. Some of them have been written already, while the rest are still in idea form in your writing notebooks.
You climb onto the table to look closer at the poster. You got it for real cheap. You know a great place to get them online.
> ===>
You don’t care if it's just a slightly modified version of the book cover, you still love it, crappy original artwork and all. > Mayera: Examine cubes with elemental symbols. Those? You found them in the garretblock. There was all sorts of weird junk in there. The one with the squiggle cooks anything you put on it, and the other one stores anything you give inside it and refrigerates it. You wonder who made them and why they left them here.
So what will you do next?

This is a beautiful limited-edition print of a poster for 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, by legendary film director TROLL STANLEY KUBRICK. It seems really outdated now, being made several centuries ago when space travel was limited, but that’s part of the charm.
Apart from being one of the most LEGENDARY films ever made, it’s also one of the EARLIEST films ever made, which is why it has such a conveniently short title.
> Mayera: Examine wall of cans.
These are where you get all of your meals, at least until you run out and have to get more from downstairs. > Mayera: Build a little fort with the cans and rugs.
As you indulge in this childish impulse, you momentarily forget that you promised you'd be done with that folder within the hour.
> Mayera: Examine sweet game grub collection.
You crammed all of your game grubs into a corner so you don't step on them. You're not much better than Casmus in the messiness department, but at least your messiness has a system, unlike his.
That doesn't mean you don't ever lose things, though.

At some point, you got your hands on a rare vinyl figure of one of your favorite characters from The Pulse, but eventually misplaced it, and it’s been out of sight since then. You keep searching for it, but no luck. It used to rest right here.
> Mayera: Get back online.
Alright, time to stop procrastinating and oh wait hold on you have a message.> Mayera: Answer OA.

>Cook the shit out of an omelet. > Casmus: Cook the shit out of an omelet.
Omelet cooking achieved. You put a little bit of healthy stuff in it today, which you usually don't get to do. Or at least that's the excuse you make so Mayera will leave you alone.
