To allow something of a tanget, you much prefer the term busting anyway, as it can imply many things and not just killing ghosts. You absolutely despise the supposed paranormal enthusiasts who deal with ghosts in lethal means. While you certainly are no fan of the creatures and do believe they should be "busted" and apprehended and researched, you hold the firm conviction that it is absolutely imperative to try and learn more about them and strive for dead-undead coexistence.

You think you hear a noise but decide it's probably nothing. Knowing this place, it's likely some ghost that just wants attention or something like that. Whatever. It's always better not to give them the satisfaction. Yet even with that in mind, your paranoia stat begins to increase. With that and the amount of smoke that seems to be accumulating, you decide to abscond from the hall.

You are now in a foyer looking sort of room. Though it is not immediately visible, there are two passages that extend on the UPPER LEVEL and walls in the distant ends of the foyer as well. What do you do?

You head up the stairs and to the great door that seems to crown this vast hall.

There are slots for many keys, the biggest one seeming to fit a key with blades formed into what would otherwise be an impossible shape. There is surely a one of a kind key to be found somewhere in the mansion, or at least somewhere in the mansion’s reach.

You have a blast sliding down the banister.

All of the sliding puts you at ease, reducing your paranoia.

You pick up the mirror. It seems to be adorned quite effeminately. Out of place for such a locale as this.

You gaze into the mirror, and see a familiar face gaze back.

Huh?

What’s happening?

You deposit the mirror into your inventory, a little freaked out at what had just almost happened. It felt like there was an attempted transition or something. How uncalled for!

You push the large door open. You don’t see why, as that’s door you entered this room from. All that happens is that smoke from the room you started in starts to fill into this room too. You really hope that the fire doesn’t actually start to spread. That would be, as they say, lame as hell.

You think about inserting the mirror. There’s something weirdly… Scandalous about the whole process. You’re not sure if it's particularly smart either. The fact that it’s such a bright pink tells you that it’s too important to risk breaking.

You decide not to do that. Now you have to do something else. Also it seems some of the smoke may have dispersed for the moment. Maybe your DUBIOUSLY ABSTRACTED INVENTORY whooshed it away like a fan at work.

You turn your orientation SOUTHWARD to face the “left corridor.” At the end of a short alcove sort of thing you find a door flanked by two nice potted plants.

Might as well peek into the next hallway too.

Your POV-CAMERA-WHATEVER-ORIENTATION CHANGES (whatever that means) to communicate that you are in a different part of the mansion. This seems to be a particularly long hallway too. One door sits on the wall that winds its way across on your right, with another, unseen one, at the end of this hallway.

There’s something inherently terrifying about long hallways like this. Especially when they are so long as to have a sort of horizon where the features at the further end disappear, or are at least obscured to an almost ridiculous degree. Whatever mad architect constructed this infernal place… You do not wish him well, to say the very least.

You are pretty sure there are no unseen doors in this--Oh.

This is almost more ominous than the entire length of the accursed hallway!

You enter anyway.

You feel around in a dark passageway for a little bit before another door opens.

You’re now in some attic-looking room. You aren't sure however. Like any attic however, the room just seems to be stuffed with useless knick-knacks.

In the face of the MSPFA Mirror being down I took the opportunity to sort of, decline/vacation from any serious adventure-making for a period of time. In a move of immense folly that meant that when I resumed updating Scarehouse along with the resumption of MSPFA being an active website, I had mistakenly neglected even notifying the updates here! I am terribly sorry for that and would recommend you click the image below if you haven't been following the updates exactly, as it should continue from where my last update as known to here was posted. Perhaps it was a mistake to ever even attempt to seduce this woman.

You employ a way sick ADRENALINE STRATAGEM to traverse through the portal. Tubular!

You are now in the MUSIC ROOM. This is where you used to go to practice the variety of instruments that any proper heiress would gain the requisite proficiency in! Emphasis on used to. You have literally not walked inside this room in years. You wonder if the old lady has either. You wouldn’t think so. She isn’t the musical type, one to even make sure her thunderous steps lack any rhythm.

You are now (briefly) the PULCHITRUDINOUS MAID. You are trying to get into your bedroom, but the lift won’t come down it seems. You are just hearing weird grunts and moans from up there.

They better not smudge up the chalk.

RH: Examine rubble.

It’s quite warm to the touch. It’s almost as if there had been a fire here recently. Everything smells like smoke too. As mentioned before, the pile is impassable. It may seem arbitrary, but so is anything in the world.
