Heyo, so this started due to a discussion in the main comic thread about the different ending interpretations splitting up into various "political parties," and Gab suggested making signature flags for the various groups and interpretations. The idea caught on, and I thought, "Hey, why stop at the End Parties? These could be used for all sorts of things!" They could be used to show support for various theories, projects, fan adventures, etc. So I decided to put up this thread for anyone who wants to contribute their own Sig Flags. I'll link the original post below and put any flags I've seen in this masterpost, along with the contributing artist's username. I'm also including some flags I made for my favorite fan adventures, so that they link to their respective mirrors. Use this code in your signature. Make sure to delete the quotation marks. I'm conflicted about having these for forum adventures as well. On one hand it's a small, concise way to promote adventures, but one the other, the original designs were specifically intended to represent "political party" flags, a category forum adventures don't fit in. You're using the same format to represent two entirely different things and thus anyone who was not involved in the comic discussion or seen this thread would not realize they don't mean the same thing. It's like if you had a train station with a movie theater in it and the movie show times were mixed into the same list as the train departure times, both abbreviated with no indication of what a particular entry represents until you looked into its details.

You bring up a fair point. I personally don't see much of a problem with it at this point in time, since unless they've read the comic discussion, they're not going to understand what the political party flags represent either, which would be the reason to have the political party images link back to the original discussion or this thread. Plus, it's not like we're getting a massive influx of new members, so I doubt that it would be much more confusing throwing other things into the mix. Each to their own I suppose. |

I'd say keep the adventure banners simply because it makes me happy to see fanventure creators happy they're being noticed.

I'm torn between what to put in my sig.
Like, on one level Everything Is Fine because the kids won their session.
On the other hand, they may have Escaped into the Metaverse, but in doing so, isn't Everything one can theorize about post-canon events Canon?
On another level, it took me a while to get more of an Idea What's Going On, why Hussie would have decided to show so few plotlines resolve in the endgame.
It's not because he felt he had built up this House of Cards too high, but because he wanted to keep the door open for people to keep theorizing.
I'm, like, in the "I'd Like It If What Is Going On Is Everything Can Be Fine, Meta And Canon At Once And Hussie Did Not Let All The Plotlines Fall Down Like A House Of Cards" party.
... That's a title Kanaya and Calliope would approve.
... Maybe I should start, like, the "Homestuck's Distressed Server Player Is Torn Between A Corpsesmooch And A Hopy Thing" party or something.
Maybe I'm just in the "It Keeps Happening And It Don't Stop" party, together with MSPA Reader.

As far as I can tell, House of Cards shares some similarities with the Salt party, but was more resigned and prepared for the ending, believing that the entire comic has been on the edge of crumbling into crap for a long time now, like a house of cards. EDIT: This is how byzantineclairvoyant, the party's founder, put it in the original post for this party: I wish to declare myself a part of the "this was all a house of cards teetering on the edge of destruction that no one was really conscious of until the ending unceremoniously knocked it all down" party, also known as TWAAHOCTOTEODTNOWRCOUTEUKIAD or Thwacked Cutter Wound party.  |
