Well, that was unexpected. I guess if he sent his head somewhere it can be kissed he’ll be- He sent it to Jake, didn’t he. Dirk’s idea of a big romantic gesture was to sent his severed head to Jake so he can bring him back to life. Dirk does not fuck around. Minda picks this up quick. rose, you beautiful little demon this reminds me of the time in my childhood my mom kept trying to buy me dolls and i would a. cut all their hair off and sometimes their limbs, b. submerge them in various goos, such as mud, glue, or once, ketchup, and then c. light them on fire with a stolen lighter to watch their faces slowly melt into nothingness, then make a faux gravestone in the backyard with stones and sharpies and act out a funeral for them where i pretended that nobody came because nobody ever liked them she gave up at around 8 years old *clears throat* anyway Meanwhile Blue disturbs me a bit. |

Oh, please tell me that these “red feelings” are for Dave. Please tell me that will happen. Because I don’t think I could bear it if Karkat is talking about Jade. Jade’s too pure for him.  Does it help if I mention that it doesn't necessarily preclude Davekat? Oh my god, Callie no. It’s just two idiots fighting over a pen. On another note, Emily is considering streaming her reading, which might make her something like the new FOAL if she'd literally done any audio reacting before this point. |

A foal is a word for a young horse, I'm pretty sure.
But actually, I think it's an acronym for a liveblogger who did 100% video reactions to the whole comic. I don't remember if they finished but that's how they did the whole thing. I think. I didn't actually follow them.

I just checked the blog, because the above post made me think that he updated, He hasn't. The last post was over a year ago, somewhere in Act 6. Opening the liveblog doc made me feel really nostalgic for the heyday of liveblogs. I don't want to go on a weird emotional rant... but I will. I miss when we had scores of livebloggers frequently updating. I miss when the fandom was active. I miss having an actual forum where I actually interacted with people that I readily recognized. I missed participating in fanventures on a regular basis, and having new ones to find, and the joy of one that was long dead being randomly revived. I miss having a meta avatar and a signature with quotes accumulated from dozens of threads over the years. I know fandom death is inevitable, especially when the work is finished, especially after the fandom is decimated by a yearlong hiatus. But it's still so tragic. sigh
At the risk of dating myself, I'll say that this fandom and "this" forum were the first online community I was really an active part of. I honestly do think that I grew as a person from joining. I've moved onto to other communities, but this still is and always will be my first. And I feel horrible seeing it in such a sorry state. Sorry for getting typing out this wall of text, but today's been an emotional day, I needed to get this out. |

Well, I've never had any strong oppinions against Openbound before, but now I'm getting a bit annoyed at them because I don't feel like putting the time into watching Minda's videos on them, and as such I haven't been keeping up with him... I didn't really get involved in the old forums until the gigapause happened, so I probably don't really have quite the same nostalgia. And yeah, we are kind of in a "post-Homestuck" phase of the fandom, where things are naturally going to be quieter, and Hiveswap hasn't really made things take off again the way I was hoping. Still, that is a little sad to me. I'm personally more than happy with the few livebloggers I'm following, each at wildly different points in the story. This place has enough regulars to keep me more or less busy, without it being hopelessly overwhelming like the old forums were famous for. I don't mind a more "peaceful" mood, even if it means most everyone has moved on to greener pastures. I don't even see it as anything like fandom death, because such a thing never happens. People won't be talking about it all the time as much, but there will always be Homestuck fans out there, and at least a few people willing to hang around here for as long as this place hangs around.  Oh right the topic ummm. I don't even know if I follow all the currently active livebloggers (also sorry for the false warning on Foal I just made a guess), just Blue, Duck and Minda. Blue is probably lining up to be my favorite already. I mean, I just always like seeing guys way back in the early days, especially compared to the ones so much further along. But he's also got a lot of edge and humor to him. His update pace varies but is pretty good currently, but of course that can always change. Oh right, there's also Imdoingthis, I've enjoyed that liveblog. But their situation is extremely unstable, worryingly so even. There is an unfortunately good chance they could disappear without a trace and that would be that. Staying optimistic though, we could be following their liveblog experience for years to come, if all this results only in delays and a slow pace. |

I... don't think IDT has done more than say "I'm totally going to start posting again soon" for over a year if not more at this point? FOAL only really started doing all his posts as videos partway through Hivebent, and he started to move back towards text-based posts in some of his more "recent" posts. Regarding Minda and Openbound, he's had some good reactions but he clearly was starting to get tired, especially of Cronus, as the second one went along. plot twist: that black stuff isn’t monster blood, it’s monster jizz and john’s gonna have to fuck his way out of this conundrum because i’m beginning to think nothing is impossible in this goddamn webcomic Oh come on, we haven't even seen any buckets yet. Would having a robotified rabbit with cool weapons, including one that cut off the finger of the queen, do? Even if it leads to his death. Well, you don't need to know chess to follow the comic, but it does help. Well, there may not be anyone left in this universe, but in another one...? Can Gamzee just die? It'd be so much easier if Gamzee just fucking died. He's going to do something fucked up to Terezi and it's going to make me sad. Oh, he's already done that, and you'll find soon that Gamzee dying is something quite rare indeed. |

So would people be interested in a blog of someone reading the squiddles adventures? Given how much trouble I had following 4 humans and 12 trolls, I'm not sure how well I'll deal with 48 squids.
I did note that with 5 symbols, instead of 4 (if "u" winds up being used), you can have 25 names; one lowercase, and one uppercase for each gives 50. That not only allows for all 48 squiddles, it even keeps two aside for "uu" and "UU" later. Yet to see if that's how it plays out.

There are 8. How? Mobius double reacharound. John, Rose, Dave, and Jade complete one half of the reacharound. A separate 4-player group makes up the other half. I don’t have any evidence. It’s just a theory which happens to fit the facts. Now the question is, does he remember this when Doc Scratch talks about the scratched troll session? i’m having a stroke because dave basically talks the exact same way that i do in real life minus a few pretentious vocabulary words thrown in there and somehow, it’s even funnier when written down like this Now I'm wondering what he'll make of Roxy. Meanwhile, Minda completely fell for the fake ministrife and it was awesome. |

I've been reading Duck's last few posts with intense interest, as his spotty memory, in spite of his fairly in-depth blogging, has made him a candidate to actually not hit on the prospect of Bec Noir before Jade: Enter. He actually brought up the prospect of Bec being prototyped, in passing, but didn't seem to realize the implications. John, if I may, I think prototyping the typheus minion would have been worse. Or possibly the globe; fighting a planet seems too daunting. Still not connecting the dots. Well, his brother's glasses can make "over 9000" jokes, does that count? Wow, a liveblogger that actually notices the epic saga of fedorafreak *before* the [o]termission. That would have been funny if Hussie had somehow managed to make it that the PDA and pendant only existed because they were left behind by the oil zapped throughout the comic. Or, when you find out what it is, Nora's "SCHWARZENEGGER REFERENCE x2 COMBO". Are you, Duck? Are you? Because right now it doesn't look like it: ...Wow. soeroah, we may have finally found the liveblogger that'll have the same reaction to Jade: Enter as you did, AND will have it in video form, AND tends to have pretty emotional reactions to boot. (Now watch, he'll start his video with "So I've been thinking about it, and I have an idea for what might have happened that Karkat's so upset about..." Hussie strikes me as someone who would color things fuchsia just so his fans can argue about how it should be spelled. Ah, so that's why Feferi's blood color is named as it is! |

Okay, that looks like the door you get for winning the game. … I don’t think we’ve been talking to the Callie from the Alpha timeline. After finding out what Calliope is looking for, we had a good laugh on Discord about how often Minda ends up having "approximate knowledge" of upcoming events. It wasn't dissimilar to his reaction to joking about Betty Crocker being Doc Scratch's apprentice and then starting to see the hints of her true importance to the story. I think BKEW just had another orgasm. Yes, Lil Cal becomes Lord English's soul jar only in the "roundabout" sense that Doc Scratch was his excellent host... Oh don't worry, she's not going to go that far and in fact already knows she's too far gone with Gamzee, but for one important element of Terezi's identity it's already too late (and of course, as pointed out on Discord, Jade is in for quite the "bonk on the head")... My point is, you want to kill Jack? You have to make another one just like him. Who I’d love to see is WQ take the ring that Mayor has been guarding and kick some serious ass. I would have also accepted Davesprite before he was poofed. I wonder if Becsprite could wear the ring, and what that would do. Would another exile wearing the Mayor's ring do? How about prototyping Becsprite with Jade's dreamself and having her go god-tier? Spades Slick being powered up you say? Well, she will try to kill him, and have a crisis because of her inability to do so... Well, he will get a transformation, but not quite yet. Also, if anyone here remembers when Atop the Fourth Wall covered Act 1 and was wondering if Linkara was going to go back to Homestuck at some point, you'll get your wish. |

Oh my god, is that actually the race of the The Felt? Leprechauns? Why not, right? Elves, weasels, and trolls are canon races in this setting, so why wouldn’t they be Leprechauns? Did Hussie intentionally have Caliborn give them the same names here, in A6I1I1 before the pattern is established, that Aranea canonically gives them later, to plant the thought that "leprechauns" might actually be their canonical race? Okay, so he takes the establishment of a pattern as Hussie confirming their race. So I guess Seer of Time powers really are coming into play here. Dammit Hussie, you missed an opportunity there! Another data point when wondering what he'll think of the retcons.  And then when he sees Terezi's eyes: Well, it will make it easier for the person giving this lecture to steal it... |
