(A/N: Hey everyone! Last, but not least, I bring back the return of my text adventure, Prism. It originally starred a potato bard named Alfred (who may or may not be returning in this version.), but I figured, since that thread kinda slowed down I would revive it with a new character! I still have come good concepts for the end goal, so hopefully we can get to the meat and potatoes of the plot in this one. Please enjoy!)

A dove appears in the void. DOVELOG: Hello! I am TheRationalDove, your personal guide throughout the game of Prism. How can I help you?
Ah! Yes, that is a question we get often here. It's not that surprising since it's pretty vague isn't it? Don't worry, though. I am here to make it a bit more comprehendable. A Path is essentially a magical affinity that each character in the game is bonded to. It basically dictates what spells, powers and items that character can use or interact with. Imagine that it's similar to Pokemon types, or the aspect system of Homestuck or the bending abilities of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Affinities are all based on a color. The character chooses a color path to follow, typically based on the qualities that color is mostly associated with. Red, for example, is associated with power and action, so someone who feels like those concepts suit them will choose the Red path, and gain access to Red Magic and Red artifacts. Green is associate with balance and growth, et cetera. When you choose a path for your character, the menu has detail description of what each path means, so that you know what it does before you select it. I hope that answers your question!

>NAME: Skelt L. Bones
OPTION ACCEPTED
>RACE: Skeleton- A race of creatures made entirely out of bones. Can either be previously living or born as a skeleton.
RACIAL ATTRIBUTES: Got No Flesh on Me: Because you have no organs, you do not need to worry about anything that would normally affect organs, such as eating, drinking, sleeping, exhaustion, illness or other complications. Kinship: Undead- +1 Social Graces when communicating with the dead or previously living things. Magicus Necessitus- Skeletons require magical energy to keep up their form, otherwise they collapse into a pile of bones. Magic Meter is now in place and needs to be replenished periodically.

DOVELOG: Oh, dear! It seems you are unaware of the class system in Prism(TM). Well, allow me to give you the list. They basically all fit within an ARCHETYPE. That you must choose, which you can then personalize to make unique! Here is the official list:
-The Warrior: A class skilled in weapon-based fighting and melee combat. Typically have lots of strength and stamina, but lack in mental capacity. (Top Stats: Strength, Defense, Stamina: Bottom Stats: Wisdom, Intelligence)
-The Magician: A class skilled in magic casting. Typically have lots of intelligence, but lack strength and stamina. (Top Stats: Intelligence, Wisdom. Bottom Stats: Strength, Defense, Stamina)
-The Magus: A well-rounded class that is proficient at both melee combat and magic casting. Typically very strong and intelligent, but can’t take many hits.(Typically a glass-canon)
-The Rogue: A dexerity-based class that focuses on being skilled and swift in battle. Can also be good with magic, but not damaging spells.
-The Alchemist: Skilled in building and creating many different items. Tends to favor item usage over a single weapon. They have a wide-breath of expertise, but are unable to become extremely proficient with one weapon type.
-The Summoner: This class is know for their ability to commune with creatures and someone them to the fight’s aid. They often tend to have a wide knowledge of monsters and other living creatures. They tend to be very charismatic, but not very strong.
-The Worshipper: This class is tied very closely to their chosen religion and has access to divine powers most other classes don’t get. They are more magic users than weapon users, but they can be either or.
-The Skilled: This class is reserved for those who are more proficient with things outside of battle and not so much battling. Depending on their particular profession and interests, their particular skill set can vary, but they are more wise and charismatic than other classes. In battle situations, they are more helpful as buffers or healers than main fighters.
Hope that helps!
DOVELOG: I would be surprised if you automatically knew which path to take. Below I have provided a brief overview of the paths and subpaths and usage rules. If there is a particuar path that you want elaborated on, let me know!
TINTS - Red Path: energy, passion and action - Pink Path: Unconditional love, nurturing - Magenta Path: harmony and balance - Orange Path: emotional strength and instinct - Brown Path:security, protection, and material goods - Yellow Path: the mind, intellect - Gold Path: wealth, success, status - Green Path: growth, newness - Blue Path: trust, responsibility - Cyan Path: communication and clarity - Violet/Purple Path: imagination, spirituality - Indigo Path: intuition, perception
SHADES - Gray Path: detachment, indecision, compromise - Silver Path: illumination, reflection - White Path: purity, wholeness, information - Black Path: secretive, the unknown, mystery
USAGE: Tints can use spells, weapons and enchanted objects of their chosen path and accessible subpaths with proficiency. They can also access adjacent paths, although proficiency is weaker than declared path nor can they utilize respective subpaths. Complimentary colors cannot be used at all and can damage the user. All other tints have no benefit or detraction. Subpaths, with the exception of Silver, can only use Gray magic, their own magic or the magic of their parent path(s). Conplimentary colors do extensive damage to a subpath user.
White and Black cannot be used by the tints. White magic reflects the magic of a tint back at the user, while Black magic absorbs the magic of a Tint. White and Black are extremely caustic to one another. Sometimes the mere presence of the opposing shade can make a White or Black magic user to fall ill.
Gray is indescriminant. It can use all magic paths, including subpaths, without harm at the cost of being unable to be especially proficient at their own magic. All paths can use Gray magic as well.
Silver is the exception to the Gray rule. It can only utilize its own magic and its magic cannot be utilize by any other path.

>Gray path >The Summoner, customization: necromancer. You're the same thing as was described in archetype, except you can commune and summon your own kind (skeletons and undead things!). The easiest way to summon is if there's a dead corpse nearby (even if it's buried in the ground. Although it should take a while for it to dig it's way out), however it should also be possible to summon one out of... uh, nowhere. This should probably be hard to do. Did I do it right, master Dove?

I'm feeling partial to Alchemist, Summoner, or Worshipper.
Still digging the Black path though.

DOVELOG: Master? Now that is a title I can get behind. It's like I'm some sort of karate master, only more Prism based. Anyway, this is an acceptable submission! You are very much doing this right!
NECROMANCER: >OPTION ADDED
DOVELOG: Here are some detailed descriptions for those two paths.
The Gray Path is one of indecision, impartiality and detachment, one where. In a lot of ways, choosing the Gray path is like not choosing a path at all. Many judges choose the Gray path as a way to solidify their neutrality. Those who wish to be rid of earthly attachments might also choose the Gray path. Others who are only tied to themselves and not others might select the Gray path as well. While those who are Gray-aligned value staying true to oneself and gray morality, this can be seen as a flaw as well> Many who are Gray aligned can be indecisive, unemotional, and noncommittal. They often don't take sides in arguments nor do they have any strong emotional connections with many things. Many who are Gray-aligned typically do not have an opinion on politics or religion.
Usage: The Gray path is unique. It is capable of using any and all magic, excluding Silver, without fear of damage. However, this means that Gray magic does not offer any bonuses or extra strength to those who are Gray aligned. Additionally, all paths can use gray magic, excluding Silver.
The Black Path is one of mystery, the unknown and secrets. Those who are Black-aligned often take pleasure in the mysteries of life. They relish what cannot be seen or properly understood. Death and the night is a large part of the Black path, as death is one of life's greatest mysteries. Those who deal with the dead are often Black-aligned, as it allows them better connections with the subject matter. Those who work with convert operations often choose a Black-alignment as to help conceal them or hide in the shadows. Thieves and other such criminals will be Black-aligned for similar reasons. The Black-alignment is not perfect though. They tend to be critized for not revealing information to others or being too suspicious of others in general. There is also a since that those who are within the Black path tend to have corrupt or perverted morals, which does them no favor, but not all Black-aligned people are like this.
Usage: The Black path is a shade path, which means it can only use black magic and gray magic. White magic causes insane amounts of damage and should be avoided at all costs.

My instinct is to say black path, but ehhhh... that's kinda expected for a necromancer I think I think gray necromancer could be pretty dang interesting so that's what I'm voting for despite liking grim and dark things
also now it's a tie

Hmm that's true about Black being the sort of 'obvious' choice...almost makes me want to throw Gold or something completely different into the ring, lol.
