This is an adventure i started (on the MSPFA site) a while back cuz i liked the format, but wanted to do something a bit distant from Homestuck (my previous works had all been homestuck related, yeesh) Alas it didn't gather much attention there alone, which i realized was prooobably cuz it was command fueled w/ a difficult time sending in commands (whoops) anyway I'm putting it here too (reverse-mirror?), and have left it off at a nice open "exploration" point so, read up to current over here and we can get started for real! Link to the first 12 pages! If you're worried bout Railroading, this is an extremely open adventure, down to the point that you can easily get Mckinley killed, because where's the fun if you can't? (i will also clean this post up later cu it is messy, shuuush)

Hello McKinley.
Equip red flag pole as "Walking stick"
Look up the cliffside to the immediate left. Could you climb it?

Equip red flag pole as "Walking stick" You were kinda the one who put it there, but you guess you take the flag back out of the snowbank?? +1 RED FLAG Acquired! You now possess 5x RED FLAGS in the sixth-dimensional spaces of your INVENTORY and 1x RED FLAG equipped on you as a WEAPON. The CLIFF to your west is too sheer and tall to climb without equipment! However, the snowfall to the NORTH is quite solid though steep, and there is some kind of downward slope to the EAST of your shelter. ((congrats, BOTH your ideas were deemed good enough, and not just cuz you got here first .3.))

Climb up the north face.
Were you climbing with a team before you fell in the avalanche? (if you remember)?

You proceed to the AVALANCHE to the north, It's a bit of a climb, but the snow has enough traction to gain a foothold, Something inside tells you to perish the thought, the snow's pretty well packed here, but not well enough to trust it to carry you to safety. You think you will file "Careen to my death on a sled made of snow" under your list of last resorts should you succumb to mountain madness. Yessir, this snowbank's a PIECE OF CAKE to a mountaineer of your MAGNITUDE. You emerge on a GLACIAL SLOPE, it is very cold, to the NORTHEAST is a cliff edge, to the NORTHWEST, a massive crevasse.

Get into the Crevasse. It'll get you out of the wind while you plan your next move.
Check your frost bite meter.

It's getting a bit on the chilly side, even through your HEAVY COAT, you think you spent a bit too much time BURIED IN SNOW. You step out of the BITTER COLD and into... Something else. The GLACIER is fractured and broken, and is composed of many facets that reflect, refract, and distort the beams of BRIGHT MIDDAY LIGHT into rainbows and auroras of streaking color. This image before you is SO STRIKING you find yourself RENDERED DRAMATICALLY for the first time, It's beautiful, It's breathtaking, It's... Kinda giving you a massive headache, ech.

> Juggle x3 (three) of your FLAGS, for fun! You think you will not do this, the flags are quite LONG AND CUMBERSOME, and you are hardly a PROFESSIONAL JUGGLER as it is. Besides, the ceiling in this glacier is far too low, as best you can guess, to juggle oblong objects indoors. You DO, However, expend two (x2) of your RED FLAGS to use their poles in the arms of your SNOWMAN COMPANION! Yes, a masterpiece of the ages, the human form captured perfectly in compacted snow, truly a (snow)god amongst (snow)men... Such a distinguished gentleman needs a name! What will the name of this young Snowman be?

>King Frosty the Fifth of Snowhaven His name is KING FROSTY THE FIFTH, and he is a STERN BUT TRUSTWORTHY RULER, and he has brought a LONGTIME REIGN OF PEACE to this once unruly and wild mountain! You bow before the monarch, as one is expected to do in his mighty court, he is appeased by your show of good faith. When you finish dicking around, you grab the two (x2) RED FLAGS WITHOUT POLE, since it is impolite to litter.

Maybe grab a small mini-stalactite of ice crystal. It might be useful as a lens.

You're pretty certain attempts to assassinate a king are usually illegal, especially when in the country of said king. Regicide aside, you figure the light-bending properties of this ice could be useful, perhaps in some kind of PUZZLE? The crystal clear icicles hang low, well within reach, and break off with a little effort. But the ice in this cave is COLD, Jesus! Colder than you expected, Colder than you can imagine, TENDRILS OF ICE pierce your WINTER GLOVES, numbing your fingers to the core. Your FROSTBITE METER fills in blue, you are now FROSTBITTEN. (you also gain one PERMAFROST ICICLE, which is not going to melt anytime soon...) Author Note: sorry for the delay, irl schedules got in the way, it happens. (that and i had trouble drawin Mick in the icicle panel, shush)

Hrm. How to cure frostbite? Try rubbing your hands together to generate friction and heat. Or, wrap your hand in the flag pennant, the extra cloth might insulate it a bit.

Try rubbing your hands together to generate friction and heat. You try to remember how to stave off frostbite, but every thing you learned in JUNIOR MOUNTAINEERING CAMP FOR BABIES seems to have slipped your mind in your sudden predicament, you have NO IDEA what to do and fall back on panicked instincts,
You're PRETTY SURE this is right? rub your hands together and breathe on them? That's it? God it's SO COLD, TOO COLD. Efforts pay off, your FROSTBITE has ceased escalating (for now) and is now a MALIGNANT TIER 1 FROSTBITE localized in your FINGERS, you now make AGILITY CHECKS at a disadvantage, but are otherwise okay. Oh, and you QUASI-PERMENANTLY lose three points in PULSE for the duration of the FROSTBITE. you should lose a point in BRAINS for being such a dumbass in the first place, but your BRAINS is already pitifully low to begin with. Fancy that!!

Honestly, you need a fire source. . . But, you're above the treeline, and it seems a shame to have climbed this far up only to go back down, and then up again.
If you were in a good spot (like the cave interior) could you pry open a bullet from your rifle and use the propellant to start a fire? Maybe burning a RED FLAG for fuel?
In any case, do you see the top of the avalanche collapse zone? That's probably where you were before you fell. Maybe there are other climbers there?
