When you're done screwing around, you end up in front of the LIGHTHOUSE, it's Quiet and Still, and the DOOR hangs slightly loose.

The BOOKSHELF is empty, the books presumably moved to a less desolate location.
The SEXTANT, however, is in fine working order. or it seems to be, You don't know a lot about SEXTANTS.
Kinda wish you did though, this thing has Adventurer written all over it, if you knew how to use this there' be nowhere you couldn't go, no challenge you couldn't tackle. or something like that.

The MOUNTAIN SCENE is one of the main reasons you came up here to begin with! you can't not stop to take in the view!
The peaks of nearby mountains seem so distant and small from up here, standing above the depths of a vast dark forest. the light of a morning's sun reflecting off the lake below, as clouds soar above in the infinite expanse of the sky...
And then you remember that staring at the sky makes you A LITTLE LIGHT HEADED so you head back inside.

The UMBER STONE (as you have dubbed it) is a large, pearlescent gemstone that is cracked across its surface. in the side it bears a SINGLE SOCKET that is unnaturally round and smooth. You've tried sticking your finger in there, but there was nothing of interest inside.

This MYSTERIOUS LETTER is actually the reason you're up these slopes at all, it's addressed to an M. MADISON, who apparently lives at the address of simply "UMBER MOUNTAIN", as if that means jack shit in this situation.
