Haahah, I love the 2D art. It was good to see the opening scene in its new form, confirming that everything still looks so charming.
I think the little poses and expressions we see Joey and Jude make are their idle animations, they looked very funny!
Dang, for an under 1 minute video, there is all this stuff going on and all these background details to take in, hahah!
And the music rocks too - I believe we've had this music in one of the trailers before.
The Manthrochap, the context menu, the Blue Lady Pin Up Standing Lamp (like, what the fuck Grandpa?)
... And Jude's hair is an absolute mess. Poor guy, combs must hate him. I relate.
And the monsters. Oh, the monsters. They look amazing still. I really like how huge the centipede is, longer than a Sburban Basilisk, that's for sure.
But what gets me more pumped is the first look at the actual appearance of an Imperial Drone.
Far from the dark gray in the canon picture, it seems they actually take after the Condesce, with golden rings and pink touches. Hahah, you know, that's actually kind of fitting, since they help keep the empire running.
(Plus, the Betty Crocker theme going on in B2.)
It seems as if the Heiress is ordering them to abduct troll kids, though.
... Perfect video description to tease potential fans. That text wouldn't look misplaced in the opening scene, or on the back of the game's box.
Now to look at the video in search of easter eggs...
Pfff, the squashed and buff monster there, so silly.
And the Nessie bush.
... A humanimal statue in the garden. D: Well, Dirk would be pleased.
For a moment there I thought it was a Toriel statue, which would've been more innocent.
Nice scribble dragon on the house's wall, next to the front door.
I like the limited use of colours on the photo walls, underlines how old some of these pictures might be.
Is that... a picture of grown-up Grandpa with irises? Blasphemy!
In the full body pictures of Joey and Jude, I think the lines behind Jude are meant to be strings from his "conspiracy board", not, like, laser lights or anything.
This is the 90s, computers aren't that hip yet, and I doubt he's into laser tag.
Hahah, Blaperile is right, Miss Claire does look like Mom a lot.
... "A. Claire" Oh boy! We have a first initial!
Seems like Grandpa had the hots for an accomplished hollywood celebrity (re: 'fan', and her jewelery), much like Jake's crush on Neferti.
Heheh, seems like we can explore the entirety of Joey's room by walking to the side of the screen and switching to a new scene.
I like that she owns Hungry Hungry Hippoes - that can be seen as an obscure Problem Sleuth reference.
Hey, that fountain in the garden wall, was that there before?
The skull is reminiscent of a Mother Grub's, but it's more like a big troll skull!
Oooh, Jude's pigeons aren't just static background figures, they're twitching! (And cooing, presumably.)
Dang, those bull horns in the hallway are enormous!
The teddy is in a makeshift cardboard hospital, n'awww.
Going by Tesseract's expression when the monsters show up, I figure she's not going to be much help in fighting the monsters!
Ahahaah, that ballet move before Joey hits the monster with her flashlight!
I figure she's using it to put all her weight behind that swing.
The crosshairs must be there so we can decide where to hit.
Hehehe, awesome dodge move.
Typheus minion's mounted head is an anachronism, I'd think, unless of course Grandpa had explored Hellmurder Island much earlier already.
Ahahahah, Blaperile pointed out how the troll being abducted looks just like Aradia!
Cameo! Hehehehe, that drone is as good as dead! (Of course, it should just be an Aradia lookalike, but still, if she shares her temper and/or powers....)
I figure all A1 and A2 trolls might get a cameo in this game, or at least some of them.
And yeah, apparently Xefros came out to see what all the hub-bub was about, and he can see the swap lights from his hive!
So he lives in a suburban lawn ring, much like Karkat, but closer to the city.
So, would the drones be abducting trolls to prepare for a migration to Earth, or what?
It can't be the reproduction thing, since these trolls are prepubescent.
The rocket shoes on the drones are funny. Makes you wonder how much they were already mechanic constructs like the carpenter droids.
Hey, and his windows look all weird, there's a piece missing from each side, making it look like a jigsaw puzzle!
