This was fun. But the true mind fuck climax of Homestuck is yet to come. I can almost feel it, like static electricity in the air.
I did enjoy seeing all those new sprites. Especially the God Tier ones. I think I saw....God Tier Nepeta, Kanaya, Eridan, Equius, Feferi, Sollux, and a few God Tier dancestors.

He seems to be the one holding the cards here. They are the challenges, and must find the one who is threatening them. I don't think LE particularly cares if they seed their new universe or not since he can destroy it on his own time. The Condesce was the one who wanted to dictate its creation and thus had to be eliminated at this point. Hm...it's the "threatening them" part that puts me off. He has no real way of threatening them now unless they go looking for him or he goes into the session himself. Most of the cards he was holding seem to have had their asses kicked. I agree he's still a threat to any new universe and needs to be put down, but...it just seems odd that THEY'RE the ones hunting for HIM, rather than the other way around. It's not like he's an imminent threat now, it seems like they can go after him at their leisure now that his servants are eliminated, unless he has some power I'm forgetting here. It seems an odd way to end a story. Eh. Am I just too used to seeing the rug getting pulled out from under them at this point? We'll see what goes down in the next pages, I suppose. There's still a little bit of Flash left, by my counting. More shit is bound to go down. Regardless of my complaints about LE's influence, this was still a really awesome flash. |

Nothing meaningful? Surely having nearly all but the most dangerous antagonist out of the way is a big deal. Spades Slick, Calinoir/Billiards Slick, Bec Noir, and )(IC have all been defeated/dead. But I guess you could say those were all foregone conclusions, because we all knew going in that LE would be the biggest threat by far. well yeah but in terms of like broader meaningful 'end of comic' stuff. this just felt like a fight scene. which is cool and all, but i wanted something more experimental and weird from the ending. this whole build up never felt right to me, and i was waiting for something else to happen. I would be more disappointed if I thought this was really supposed to be the end. I was surprised Hussie decided to push all of the really meaningful stuff to Act 7 when he's said before it was supposed to be a kind of epilogue, but it's not a big deal that he did that. I'm sure all the stuff that really matters is going to get addressed and it's going to be as good as we've hoped for. |

That's true. Homestuck's story usually doesn't revolve around fight scenes. Drama and plot advance up to a certain point, then a big flash creates a climax that, while it's really cool to see, is actually kind of predictable storywise. If you think about it, it wouldn't really have made a difference if Hussie chose to tell the events of Collide with a bunch of pages instead, or spaced it out some other way. It's certainly not over yet, so hopefully we'll see something more substantial in the next update. |

Yeah, I feel like a big part of why this animation even existed was that Hussie knew that fans had built up unrealistic expectations about how spectacular the End of Act 6 animation would be with Cascade as a precedent, so he created a big long awesome fight scene to sate the hunger. But I feel like most of it wasn't very necessary. It was 90% fanservice.

Well, they were supposed to throw a ring in the volcano. Now PM has one that can be used so that Calliope doesn't have to give up hers. I'm already chomping at the bit to see what happens with Dave, Terezi, Dirk, Roxy, (the ominous music playing right after she killed Condy didn't help my impression of the situation) Muse!Calliope and Caliborn, even while I'm a little let down by how little information we got out of this thing. |

Not that there was any doubt, but the Condesce is confirmed for having sexy gams that she uses to kick the shit out of people with until they die. I did think that maybe she would survive the story but in a sort of traped condition. Since she seems to be interested in living forever I sort of figured that Huss would go with the classic "oh you want to live forever do you? Well enjoy iving forever imprisoned." or something. I guess he could not resist giving Roxy the satisfaction of killing her though. Just figured it would be something a bit more considering that she is the villain who has had so many people tortured to death and sent off to horrific fates.
Sword to be back will get the job done though.
Now we will never know what her plans for the Black haired side of the human family was...

Yeah the fanserviceyness of it might be one of the reasons I feel so weird about it, like I loved watching the flash but when it ended there was this weird gnawing feeling like something has gone terribly wrong. it doesn't help that I found the undertale ref extremely heavy handed and not executed all that well, like I love the game but that wasn't really funny and didn't add much of anything. |

Of all the people to not be dead who looks actually dead, Condy seems the most likely to not be dead. Cause you do have the curse that could be keeping her alive. Doesn't LE decide when a handmaiden dies and a new one takes the mantle?

I don't know why, but the ending of the jack/pm/jade fight and the condy fight actually surprised me. Well, shocked is more accurate. I guess they've been villains for so long that even with the literal climax of the comic it just didn't feel like that would be resolved.
So yeah, holy crap.

I keep watching this and I see new stuff almost every time. For instance, at 13:35 you can see Roxy grabbing the sword.
God, whatever else you wanna say about this flash, the music is phenomenal. It's a joy no matter how many times I replay.

It's interesting that Jane and the Nannasprites never visit LOTAK. Apparently between a Knight of Time and a Seer of Mind, that group never truly ends up in a timeline where Jane's healing is even necessary, but was that always part of their battle plan?

Oh man oh man. That was one hell of a battle, and quite the amazing Advanced Strife Sequence! I absolutely loved the style of it, going from "fighting game frenzy, Homestuck style" to "literally homestuck the anime". Pretty damn fanservicey in all the best ways. I was admittedly expecting something a lot more plot-heavy and mindfuck-twist-laden, but given how many major plot points are still unresolved, I'm guessing that's coming soon enough. You can fit a lot into 40 pages, especially if any flashes are involved. Now that I think about it, I feel like the decision to put the video on youtube wasn't just about saving the servers--with how detail-laden the video is, I think he WANTED us to have the ability to easily pause or it slow down. I'm going to rewatch it now and give some more detailed commentary. I'll spoiler it for the sake of size. -All of the enemy sprites are great, and their movements really feel like a video game. -Apparently a Seer of Light's powers can manifest as LASERS! That's pretty neat. -I absolutely love how many freymotifs were included... really entertaining, appropriate ones too! -Roxy weaponizing the perfectly generic objects is great. ESPECIALLY the pony. -Jake's fight against the Felt is frantic as hell, but much more entertaining if you're pause your way through it... you can see time clones of him, follow him travel through time by shooting Sawbuck, etc etc. He is also being a BADASS! Go Jake! -Apparently Cans can punch people out of the frame and into... COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PLANETS? -Karkat spending the entire battle fighting Clover was hilarious and sad. Oh Karkat, bless your heart... you want to be a great warrior SO BAD, but instead you just wind up looking like kind of a doofus. At least he didn't get beaten  -People Jane has brought back to life once: Rose, Kanaya, Jake -The skeleton army makes an appearance, but basically is just one of many different elements in hectic frenzy of shenanigans. -The LOTAK crew should really have just let Spades Slick and Lord Jack duke it out for a while before jumping into the fight. Like, if two of your opponents are trying to kill each other... let em. -DIRK'S SPRITE DOES A LITTLE THUMBS-DOWN! That's such a cute subtle callback to the Bro fights. Also it JUST hit me that they're fighting on a rooftop... -...Does Terezi and Dave's Fraymotif allow them to save people by pulling their alternate timeline selves into the alpha timeline or something? That's cool and OP as hell. I guess I never REALLY thought about the possible applications of combining various aspect powers... that could lead to a lot of interesting possibilities. -DAD!!! I really like the implication that he could have broken out whenever he wanted to, and just didn't. -The Green/Red dichotymy with the White/Black demidogs is interesting. -Caliborn's battle sprite is adorable. -WE ACTUALLY KINDA GET TO SEE YALDABAOTH'S FACE! If you pause it just right. More or less what you would expect--freaky and alien but cool. -Vriska's fight against Hussie kinda surprised me. And he has the power to alter reality by snapping? Well, okay. -ohhhhhhh BOY I can't wait until we get to see the circle around the green sun br8k open! -I got SO damn excited when we saw Serenity. WHAT IMPORTANT THING IS SHE GOING TO DO WITH WV? -Lord English is a damn beast. I love finally getting to see all the A1 troll sprites though! -I fucking LOST IT at the Undertale gameplay reference. Pure perferction. I was wondering if there would be any references to Undertale, but wasn't expecting something so BLATANT. Love it. -The Heir of Grief section is just... SO heavy-hitting. Goddamn is that music the perfect accompaniment to this moment in the story--you really feel the desperation and weight of their struggles leading up to this point. -THIS IS THE MOST ANIME THAT HOMESTUCK HAS EVER BEEN, AND IT'S GREAT -I actually felt bad for Gamzee in that fridge, all crying and stuff  I mean, I know he's a shithead and he killed Equius and Nepeta for the sake of Lord English's creation (and possibly the creation of another amalgamation), but post-retcon Gamzee has had a pretty rough three years. -Jade trying to mediate between her two dogs was pretty cute. Until PM decided nonlethal blows were fair game -Dave slicing through all of their heads (AND the unbreakable katana) was pretty badass. It seems like it was fairly unecessary, but then I remembered that the welsch cueball sword was supposed to be the only thing that could cut through magical rainbow invincibility, and that whole situation served as a convenient way to pin Lord Jack in the middle. Also apparently it also symbolized a move in a card game or something??? So that's cool. HOW'S DIRK GONNA GET OUT OF THIS ONE? Probably Jane. It was super cool to see Dave using his time travel powers FINALLY. -Lord Jack's head going fucking SUPERNOVA was unexpected, but cool. Also is it just me or did it leave a black hole? The grey freeze frames seem significant. -PM beat the HELL out of Bec Noir. It's weird thinking that Jack has possessed that ring for nearly 6 years before finally losing it. What the hell is going to happen when PM puts a second ring on??? Prototype^2? I hope she doesn't go mad with power, PM was always such a great character... but chasing the same guy relentlessly for three years through an infinite abyss is bound to take a toll on the psyche. -Roxy stabbed the Condesce through the chest (mirroring the way Rose was killed) with the sword that she just said was a symbol "of all the people who didnt make it as far as we did". The ending did definitely make it seem like something slightly fishy is going on though... what was with the static? The curtain contraption turning black on a white background? Typheus noises??? Is it going to relate to John's choice somehow? His retcon abilities? I guess we'll just have to wait and see... but MAN am I eager to see what happens next. |

Absolutely loved that flash. So here are my thoughts in order under the spoiler. Gamzee in the fridge was a Chekov's gun that I kept expecting to go off with its continual appearance throughout the fights.
When dad appeared I was so certain that he was gonna get forked trying to save those in the Condesces fight.
All the fireflies appearing was odd, Dave saw space in his glasses, are they connected to Calliope/Altiope? and if so are they helping "inspire" people to propogate paradox space (cause you know, she's a muse).
Im really impressed with how Tavros, Meenah, and Aradia did against Lord English, despite the heavy losses of the ghost army. Where was Sollux though? I assume that Tavros, Meenah, Aradia, and Sollux all survived since they were thrown out in random directions, not in the direction of the ghost army.
The shrek was a lolwut moment for me, just great.
Davepeta just crushed Lord English for a bit there. Davepeta confirmed to Drop the Pimp in the Crib?
The zoom into the song change made me expect to see the bubbles all start exploding or something similar.
I expected Jane to get involved but I didn't expect the Condy to just knock her out (Healers down! Out of Mana! Need a Rest! *Screaming*)
Once again the showing of the kids made me think something was gonna happen with the Juju or the Sun but I guess it was just a cool moment.
Jake taking down the Felt while Crowbar watches makes me assume Jake will take control, Karkat spiking clover was nice, I guess you don't have to be that unlucky to get tied up and spiked into the ground by Karkat.
PM hitting Jade was a nice touch, especially with the fear that BN showed following it.
The Dirk sacrifice makes sense as it gives more characterization and reasons for Dave's "Not a Hero" feelings. I don't expect the time travellers to show up for a while after this having travelled to some further point in the future.
RIP Dirks Planet. I guess any denizen stuff will either require a flashback or for him to be still alive either in the small remaining bit or on part of the floating chunks.
That black hole isn't ominous or anything. Probably where LE will enter from, or how they'll all get to Caliborns planet to fight him.
So three "Tyrants less an arm and an eye" just died, Caliborn is near a clock, and Gamzee is still tied up somewhere, is the T1ck T0ck prophecy gonna be complete?
I'm tempted to call PM One Punch Dog now cause she's basically one shot Jade and slammed her fist into Jack Noir to knock him out/kill him
and Roxy gets her retribution for B2 Rose and Dave, Hell Yeah! Although the Condy might still live, she is really god damn tough.
Very ominous end to the flash though, what's up with that?
So those that got revived by Jane in the flash are Rose and Jake, with Dirk revived via motifshenanigans. Whether it changed to him never being shot or to him being revived by Jane is unclear. Given the beheading we might see him actually die.
I don't think Altiope is going to do anything to the sun at all, Lord English will find her there and of course will set up a huge blast to kill her. The blast will push the Green Sun into the cracks "sinking" it. After all the waiting and hiding she did, it was all just to die at the right spot at the right time.
It seems to me that Caliborn will "cheat" his immortality by hitting the clock with the crowbar. At this point I'd suggest that properly destroying will end its effects (Gives reason to Spades Slick destroying the clocks in the Felts Mansion) or that it just needs to be hit again. Those seem too simple to happen though. |

Still finding new stuff. At the Undertale part, Davepeta has 33 hp. Because of course they do.
While she's fighting Lord English, Aradia is using a whip. Like she used to use to explore the ruins back when she was alive. I find that very cool.
Oh, and I was trying to remember what it was that Condy's death reminded me of: Vriska's! It's just like the panel where Terezi stabbed her from behind. That's....interesting. Especially if Roxy does become cursed. And it makes sense, since Condy was also a Thief.

Wow I didn't expect an update for like another 12 hours! I'm glad it was on youtube so I could pause and replay parts easily hahah. SOO much stuff happening so fast. good lord that was a lot of animation!!!!! I LOVED that we got to see fraymotifs!! And I love Heir of Grief SO MUCH. Eternity Served Cold is also sooo good. I, too, was waiting for some big twist, but there wasnt one? so now I'm even more ansty aaahh what will happennnn. There is something big on store for Karkat for sure. But still nice job heroes :thumbs up: cool stuff really cool awesome stuff. Dave and Terezi, and Karkat and Jake and Roxyyy. Fun facts to ponder:
Dirk finally uses his fncysntakind specibus to attack one of the jacks with a zilly santa. It is somehow even less effective than you would expect.
None of the god tier trolls seem to have wings anymore while in sprite mode. Aradia, Rufioh, and a few others have their wings while in hero mode for one scene, and then mysteriously lose them when they switch back to sprite mode.
Gamzee and the fridge were last seen on LOTAK, right before it vaporized/got sucked into a black hole. Will this finally keep down the clown?
Kanaya seemed to have no trouble being revived, despite her rainbow drinker status. I guess Crocker-tier Jane really was full of crock after all.
