Another thing to add to the List of Things You Suddenly Realize When Rewatching [S] Collide For The 46th Time: Condy has WHITE eyes. Her face is clearly visible, but her eyes are not the usual black used for adult Trolls (when their face is shown at all):    However, I'd guess this is just an artistic glitch, because here her eyes are the usual black (and also it would not make a lot of sense for her to be dead). |

I literally just watched after waiting 12 hours and I was not disappointed.
Everything about this flash was amazing.
I have no words.
I know some people say it has a bit much of fan service but I don't care, I'm always up for fan service.
Now time to wait for the 40 pages + Act 7.

I have been trying to find a good way to talk about all of this craziness, but basically, this flash has floored me. All of the effort from so many different people to make this thing work is astounding! Good job everyone!
Things I Have Been Thinking About:
-Condy's death surely means that someone is going to get the curse. Is it passed on to whoever killed her, because if so, that spells disaster for Roxy.
-Jane looked like she was in a very compromised position there. That chokehold could mean a large variety of things. She could be dead, she could just be knocked out.
-I love how everyone is really focusing in on Terezi and Dave's combined fraymotif, but probably because that one was just so OP, it's almost rediculous, though all of the fraymotifs were great to see, so.
-The Undertale reference SLAYED me, I did not see that one coming, although having a determined character facing off against a nigh unkillable time-traveling skeleton? Probably the best place to make said reference.
-That black hole that nearly distroyed Dirk's planet is extremely foreboding. The planets have tended to symbolize a character growth and progression, so seeing them destroyed is a very huge red flag (that's why in Game Over, having all of the planets destroyed like that was a great way to symbolically render the destruction). Also, I hope Dirk will be okay. It seems like he will most likely be revived. The real question is what comes after that, considering everything.
-THAT BLACK HOLE IS BEING CRIMINALLY UNDER-TALKED ABOUT. THIS IS PRETTY SERIOUS STUFF AND I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MUCH IT WOULD WRECK THE SESSION.
That's pretty much what I wanted to touch on. Tomorrow can't come here fast enough.

Interesting facts: the following things were in LOTAK when B2 Jack's head exploded into a black hole: Gamzee, Yalbadaoth, the Crowbar. The following things can be found in Caliborn's session, and up to this point we hadn't seen how they got there: Gamzee, Yalbadaoth, the Crowbar. !!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy shit that is an INCREDIBLE revelation. Dirk's Yaldabaoth and Caliborn's Yaldabaoth are one and the same, and the crowbar and Gamzee have their timeline puzzle pieces fit together??? Jesus that's such an awesome theory. But wait what does this mean for slick. ss was totally there  I got to school this morning and watched the flash and was late for my first class because eighteen goddamn minutes. What a ride. What an experience. I laughed, I cried, and also stared in shock a few times. And so many of my favorite songs got used!!! Super super cool. |

I watched the first half of Collide while waiting for one of my classes and commented as I went, stopped about 9 minutes in at what I felt was a stopping point because it was almost time for class, and watched the rest while waiting for my next class.

And what better opponent than a godlike enemy made up of multiple SOULs, with total invincibility and rainbow lasers? Perhaps we've been thinking about LE's weaknesses all wrong. Has anyone tried offering him a plate of spaghetti yet? |

If that black hole does lead to Caliborn's session, I hope there's a good explanation for it. Even if this is what Lord English intended (which is likely if the black hole really is a wormhole), despite his many abilities, I doubt he ever gained a make-my-host's-head-implode-into-a-black-hole-leading-to-my-session-at-a-certain-point-on-its-timeline-when-that-host-is-decapitated ability for beating his session.
I'm guessing we're going to have Intermission 3 next, which will include the real climax of Homestuck. It would be fitting; every main intermission so far has revolved around Lord English, and the climax will probably depict both his rise to power as Caliborn and his final defeat.

I don't know how to feel about this. It was AMAZING, (so much for none of the flashes being as long as Cascade....well I guess this wasn't, since it was longer) but in terms of new information or old threads being tied up we got pretty much bupkis. We still got 12 minutes of animation and at least 40 more pages to go, so there's still plenty that can happen! That was hilarious and amazing. And all of the protagonists survived, assuming Jane is still alive and can get to Dirk. I doubt it, because The Condesce did pretty much the same thing to her that her pre-retcon version did to Aranea. Did it seem like Bec Noir was getting scared? I was have trouble telling if he was tired and just wanted to stop, even in death. Yeah! I got that impression too. Yep. I did enjoy the sprite fights but....they definitely made everything feel less serious. To be honest, many fight in this comic have gone down in Sprite Mode, so I'm really happy to see these final ones did too for a big part. In the last few seconds of the flash, you can hear Typheus for some reason. I am unsure what this means. I kind of thought it sounded like the cardiac arrest sound that hospital devices make. Which was actually really fitting to me, what with all the deaths that happened in this flash, haha. I'm gonna have to watch it again, but did Bec Noir - or not-Bec unprototyped Jack Noir, hehe - really die? If Jade could survive hitting the ground and skidding for like a mile, it seems to me Jack could too. When I rewatch, I'll have to see if un-prototyping Jack let him regain the arm that PM had just cut off, but even if it didn't... I think he's just unconscious, but actually lacking an arm now. Except, hilariously enough, he's now missing the OTHER arm than when he was still wearing the ring. Jake somehow single-handedly took out the Felt. Not really though. Jane and Casey with her army aided him at a certain point, and Cans was taken out by Dad and Arquiusprite, while Clover was taken out by Karkat. Crowbar doesn't seem to be taken out but just amazed at what Jake did. I have to say I did expect the Felt to team up with Karkat. I did think that he would get over there somehow. I also expected Spades and Karkat to team up but, what can you do? Something tells me Spades is not dead yet. Maybe he will be resurrected? It seems an odd place to end his story. I'm hoping he's still alive. I mean, it seems like he attacked the heroes out of a misunderstanding, since they were just in his way to get to what he thought was Lord English. It's not the first time that he attacked somebody that wasn't necessarily his enemy, like when he stab greeted Karkat in A2. He also had that robot head, so maybe he doesn't need to have the rest of his body. He did attack Terezi pretty violently and on purpose though, more than he attacked Dave and Dirk I think. Probably because he still hates her for exiling him. I also suprised that Tavros survived even one slap from Lord English But see, what kind of makes me a little sad now is that Karkat still hasn't done something super badass yet. I don't want him to be left out. Even if it's just distracting LE with a rap-off or something, I want him to do something big. He did take out the luckiest member of The Felt. Nobody's defeated Clover before as far as we've seen. -The LOTAK crew should really have just let Spades Slick and Lord Jack duke it out for a while before jumping into the fight. Like, if two of your opponents are trying to kill each other... let em. Spades Slick did seem to want to get revenge on Terezi too though. He gave her quite the beating as well. So they pretty much had no choice but fight him as well. -DAD!!! I really like the implication that he could have broken out whenever he wanted to, and just didn't. Not to mention the fact that he was in what should have been THE MOST SECURE PRISON CELL ON DERSE. Also, the fireflies. They have to be there for a reason. [/p] [/quote] They gave hope to the heroes to fight on when things looked bleak for them. I feel like pointing out that the last shot, the black spheres over the white background, is a nice bookending callback to the first flash of Act 6 (where the moon and earth eclipse the sun, if I recall correctly). Very fitting. Holy shit you're right. BTW, I have to point out that Dave, Dirk and Terezi are a bunch of idiots. They should have simply brought out some popcorn and watched the two Jacks fight, which was what those two obviously wanted to do. There are multiple times in the video when the two Jacks are happily trying to kill each other, and they are f**king interrupted by DDT. If they just stayed out of the fight altogether nobody would have had to die. Heck, if Spades Slick had won, they probably wouldn't even have needed to fight him at all! If Dave, Dirk and Terezi had done nothing, Spades Slick would probably have killed Terezi. If Jane really is dead (which, unlike others' deaths, isn't really clear), then she couldn't bring back Dirk (assuming he died heroically which is likely) and maybe we'll be in for a second retcon. I used to hate the prospect of a second retcon but now I like it.

My first reaction to the flash was actually disappointment to some extent. Nothing all that out-of-the-blue happened and I yearned for a flash made by just Andrew. I've rated every flash to WV: Ascend for a while now and this just didn't top it.
On a few more watches though, goodness, did they put a lot of detail work into this. I'm liking it much more now.

I used to hate the prospect of a second retcon but now I like it. It depends. If Jane is dead, it's possible Calliope could give her the Ring of Life. (We don't know if it only works on ghosts or if putting it on the dead person's body's finger works just as well.) If that worked, it would then allow her to revive Dirk. But the black hole, Roxy's fate and any new insights Terezi might have gained through Remem8er that she hasn't shared yet (like why she put certain things on her list) could push John into making another retcon. Or maybe that other John could pop in a make one. Who knows at this point? There's still time for some more crazy. |

I said I'd make a bigger, more elaborate post but I'M A FILTHY LIAR.
I loved the Flash and I look forward to Act 7 and the in-between pages. The music oddly wasn't as fun as Cascade's to me, from memory, but the art was great.
I'm gonna be rewatching the Flash a looot in the form of audio reactions though, which is awesome~ I was half expecting Cans to punch Arquius right to Caliborn's session, though.
