Yep. I did enjoy the sprite fights but....they definitely made everything feel less serious. To be honest, many fight in this comic have gone down in Sprite Mode, so I'm really happy to see these final ones did too for a big part. Not to mention, using Sprite mode helped the art keep a much consistent style than Cascade or Game Over had. I'm hoping he's still alive. I mean, it seems like he attacked the heroes out of a misunderstanding, since they were just in his way to get to what he thought was Lord English. It's not the first time that he attacked somebody that wasn't necessarily his enemy, like when he stab greeted Karkat in A2. He also had that robot head, so maybe he doesn't need to have the rest of his body. He did attack Terezi pretty violently and on purpose though, more than he attacked Dave and Dirk I think. Probably because he still hates her for exiling him. Wow, I forgot about this entirely! I was wondering why he seemed to be extra angry at her. Dude knows how to keep a grudge. |

It's been awhile since I've read up on the Ancestors. I remember the curse causing eternal life but what else did it do again? The curse gives you power and immortality but also forces you to serve as a slave to Lord English. |

It wouldn't let the Handmaid's life end before she had finished her mission, but that was just a problem for her because of how terrible her life was. Whatever else it might do has not been spelled out. The real problem is that it was apparently granted to Condy upon her victory in a duel to the death with the Handmaid, and if it does given English some level of remote control over or ability to hurt the person who has it that we haven't seen yet....it won't be pretty. Not to mention, using Sprite mode helped the art keep a much consistent style than Cascade or Game Over had. It looked to me like the art style changed around just as much as it did in Cascade, if not as much as it did in Game Over. |

Theories I have seen for Karkat beating Clover (the first one is mine):
- Karkat is weak so Clover doesn't need a lot of luck to beat him, which made his power fail.
- Clover is actually lucky he lost a fight to Karkat because he was only tied up. If he had won he might have to face someone next who would have killed him.
- Karkat is still affected by the Mobius Double Reacharound Virus, which makes everyone around him unlucky.
- Karkat's blood aspect allows him to steal other people's powers.
- Clover is really lucky with relashionships, and he may have just scored a ship with Karkat.

havent caught up on discussion but my collected thoughts on the flash, and you can tell me if you agree or disagree.
the good:
-sprite battles! missed those!!!
-freymotifs!
-i told u guys dave would use his time powers after seeing dirk die (although tbh i was thinking more along the lines of dirk gets killed by jack causing dave to use his powers to kill jack, but technically what i said turned out to be true.....)
i didnt like:
-i miss hussies art!
-seemed slightly drawn out at times, and didnt always flow as well making it a lot less....exhilarating then game over. i feel like it could have been cut down to 16 or 15 min.
interesting things:
-john used the the fear no anvil. wonder where hussie got the idea to put that in? maybe that prop that someone made late last year that went around tumblr....
-meenah used a energy beam similar to dirks but lighter in color. im assuming thats her GT power, probably a life/energy draining attack given her title.
-seems like rose can use energy attacks without her wands, god tier powers i assume.
-roses mini quills of echidna can shoot echidna shaped beams (@2:58)
overall it was a good upd8. im excited for the rest.

About How to Revive Dirk if Jane is Dead:
1) BKEW mentioned this and it was mentioned previously on this thread, but Dave could potentially go to Hephaestus and make his Choice to let him fix one thing, and have that thing be Dirk, circumventing Jane's healing powers entirely.
2) Keep in mind that Dave is a time traveler. If he finds out that Jane is dead when he goes to her in the present. He can always just time travel to a point where Jane is still alive and have her heal him there.

Oh my god, yes, I hereby adopt the headcanon that Karkat won because of the Mobius virus.
In Game Over, everyone died because Karkat was there when the fighting started, but in this Flash, he was largely absent by the time anyone else started to fight, so things went better for them all. Plus cancelling out Clover's power.
Oh, though a less likely theory could be that Aranea messed with Clover's luck in an attempt to make amends. She's still gotta be a ghost, surely?

Anyone noticed several blatant errors in the video (please stop calling it a "flash")? - At 0:40, Bec Noir has two arms.
- At 2:30 and 12:05, Condy has white eyes.
I'm classifying the second one as an error because otherwise she has black eyes as usual, and also because she's not dead (at least not before 17:05). Anything else? |

I finally got a chance to watch the flash! And, well ... that sure was a fight scene. I'm a bit disappointed, really. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was an awesome fight scene, but that's all that really happened: fighting. There weren't any real twists aside from Dirk's (and possibly Jane and Davepeta's) fate or story aside from the fights and the results of the fights. I guess the twist is that I was expecting a twist and it didn't happen? But seriously, Vriska's plan wasn't supposed actually work!

A lot of the God Tier sprites for the trolls lack wings, but, to be fair, that would be even more effort on top of all the other things that needed to happen, so I don't really blame them.

It's likely Flash has been involved in its creation, sure; but now it's definitely a video. Wich I think is a lot better: at 1080p on full-screen mode it looks simply gorgeous. Also, it can be paused and/or slowed down. I really hope AH will use this Youtube channel to post high-res versions of all Homestuck animations. |
