Is there (Or did there used to be) a thread specifically for fanventure fan art? lol. I can't say whether or not this was ever a thing, as I didn't start coming around the forums until right before The End, but I think this would be a nice idea! I don't know if people would post in it a lot, but maybe just having the thread would be motivation for making some fan arts. At the very least it would be cool to have them all in a central location to look through. EDIT: Actually this does remind me of one thread on the old forums I remember seeing. I can't remember what it was called, but each person would draw a scene from the above poster's adventure in their own style, so in a way that was kind of like a fan art thread. I used to like looking through those, lol.

Does the search function at the top allow us to maybe put tags on posts about certain adventures. So like, I might make fan-art about a cool and new web comic, post the image, along with whatever notes I want to add, then at the very bottom at #a cool and new webcomic or maybe '#acanwc', so that it could be searched for later?

What if we had a fan art thread with all of the art categorized in the main post by adventure? Like a list of adventures with spoiler tags underneath, each containing fan art pertaining to said adventure. Also, I would like to add I am in full favor of such a thread existing. As quixoticTokki said, it would probably inspire users to make more fan art in general. Heck, even considering the possibility of the thread makes me tempted to go draw fan art, myself.

This would allow people to still post the art in the adventure's thread, then it can go their aswell, long with whatever notes the author might want to add/

But then again, it might be sorta awkward having a mixed bag of "hub" posts and fan art "submission" posts.

At the same time though, it doesn;t fix the main problem with linking to Fan Art, since you can;t link to specific parts of a post. OH! I just checked! you CAN use the search bar at the top of a thread to search tags. test it yourself, i'll put #test at the end of this and if you put #test in the search bar, this post will come up! #test

Maybe it has something to do with personal settings or the how recent your post is right now; I can check later. As for linking to fan art, my idea for how such a thread would work would be users "submitting" fan art as posts and saying which adventure it's for. Then it all gets added to the main post by either the thread creator or by a staff member, in the spoiler under the adventure's title. Maybe as direct images for easy browsing, but if they all have to load regardless of opening spoilers or not, it might be better to just link to them because bandwidth or something. And of course, each piece would include artist credit. (Also interesting thing to note - your response to me happened to be your 105th post. I see that number all the time through strange, sometimes weirdly specific coincidences. Just thought that was neat to point out)

Well there is always Ctrl+F (assuming you're on a computer), and as mentioned before, fan art for fanventures is somewhat rare, so I couldn't imagine it being too long of a list. Probably. Maybe. But with the whole fluidity thing, I think posting a list of fan art in the first post of the adventure's thread itself works pretty well; it's what I do and it probably isn't very intrusive to new readers. Just as long as potential spoilers are marked, so they don't end up unknowingly looking at the art before catching up. And as long as the fan art is linked to instead of directly posted. (It's actually what I decided to use as the arc number in Synodic Reboot, heh. Though it has been showing up for around eight years now, so there's no way I could have not used it. Also while I'm here, I'd like to say I'm enjoying Item Unoriginal so far!)

(thanks )

Interesting resource I found. CloudNovel.netAllows you to create visual novels and host them online. This might be fun if you have moments that would essentially be a long talking section, or you want to introduce information in a more 'choose what order' way.

Also, since we're somewhat on the subject here, and since I don't want to add too many comments by me before an update, holy hell, thankyou @nightlights for that fan art! (Link for in anyone cares)I absolutely love it, it's beautiful, and its good to know that people recognized that that was a ribbon, and that she wasn't just wearing a crop-top because I was somewhat worried about that! I'm always extremely happy to know when people like my work, so, from all my heart, Thankyou! On a side note though, how should I show off fan art? I know some adventure's add a link in the main post or something in a spoiler, but I always found those a little against fluidity of reading for new readers? Any suggestions? Nah, like hargle said, fanart of adventures is so ridiculously rare it's not necessary for a thread. It also makes fan art a incredible treasure around here, so congratulations!

While it's really sad that the MSPA forums got hacked, (even tho I didn't lose anything because all the images are safe inside my computer), it's also exciting, like a new beginning

Here's a maybe important question. What are we going to do once MSPAForums comes back.
There was a big problem in adventure's dying through coming to these forums. Will the same happen when moving adventure's from here to MSPAForums? Should we be doing that? How should be be doing it when we do?

I think one of the bigger reasons for adventures dying here was because no one was really informed about the forums. I mean, people tried to get the word out, but at the end of the day things didn't really get rolling for a while. I figure the new MSPA forums would probably immediately be more lively since they'd be immediately acknowledged by official sources, thus leading to more opportunities for people to suggest commands. Also, everyone on these forums will already know where to go, so the transfer should be less painful this time.

The bigger problem will probably just be the pain of making a presentable First page, since it can't be the first panel anymore. Thinking about it, what I think i'll do is probably create some sought of cover/poster type thing, put relevant links under the image, add a blurb, and then in spoilers just copy and paste the whole adventure so that people can read it in the forums if they want aswell (although, probably as images, since it'll be a pain in the ass to edit all the code). I'll probably also have to update the mirror, which I haven't done in ages. It'd be easier if the color code wasn't different though :/

Speaking of color coding issues for the mirror, I find a pretty good tool to use is AutoHotKey. With a little tinkering, I set it up so that I have the color codes of my main characters and all the general formatting stuff as shortcuts. It's not exactly the solution to having the color codes be different, but it saves you a couple key strokes to not have to type out/copy and paste the whole thing over and over again.

That might be a good idea. Its definitely easier then going in, taking out the word font after copying over the BBC code, then realizing that the end says instead of and getting frustrated. I think next time I have a free day, i'll have to do that. especially since im a forum page behind now, and I really don't want everything to turn sideways and end up with everything lost.

UGH HAVING TO MAKE A MIRROR FOR GHOST AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Oh darn, if these forums go down when the new one's up I think you're gonna need the mirror for people to catch up with the adventure. Maintaining the mirror is such a hassle. :c

The Radical Adventures of Santa don't need a mirror. Because Santa's rad like that. Why would these forums go down, though ?

Yeah I was thinking about that. I'll probably just copy over the cover image and mirror link, and then post whatever the most recent panel is and go from there. And if these forums haven't been taken down, but rather just locked, I could post a link to the original thread in case some people prefer to see all the different commands and stuff.

The Radical Adventures of Santa don't need a mirror. Because Santa's rad like that. Why would these forums go down, though ? When MSPAForums comes up, I doubt it'll go down. It might get locked, but not for atleast a week or two. The bigger problem is that FreeForums isn't exactly supposed to be for the hub of a fandom, so if enough people become too active, things might go pear shaped. So even if its unlikely... I mean, it didn't seem likely for MSPAForums to go up either. Similar, its best to have back ups of anything you post online somewhere. As CGPGrey once said 'Two is one, and one is none'. Redundancy is important.
