Minestuck is a minecraft mod project that started near the end of 2011 on the minecrft forums and the mspaforums. The aim for this mod is to add stuff from homestuck (primarily sburb), and we've done pretty much so far. Features: - Sylladex with 6 possible modus types
- Basic computers with an interface primarily for connecting and activating editmode
- Editmode, which is this mods equivalent of when a server player interacts with the client players house through sburb
- Cruxite ore and raw cruxite because we didn't want players to just have infinite amounts of it
- Echeladder where you so far primarily climb rungs by killing monsters
- Sburb machines and punched cards
- Alchemy system based on predetermined combination recipes, and because of that doesn't use codes
- Grist, (21 different types) which is used in alchemy and by the server player when doing stuff in editmode
- A number of blocks and items from or inspired by homestuck
- Items and blocks that has nothing to do with homestuck
- Two different entry artifacts that will bring you into the medium
- Titles/classpects that is generated on entry, which is currently only used for deciding one of the two land aspects
- Land dimensions, where every player gets their own land
- 7 different land aspects that decides the primary terrain
- 12 land aspects that is based on the players aspect
- Achievement page with 11 achievements
- Two biomes in the land dimensions: Normal and ocean
- A small ruin structure with a chest with loot from a custom loot table
- A dungeon with chests and imp spawners
- Underlings that drop grist: imps, ogres, basilisks and giclopses
- Three types of consorts that doesn't do much at all except wandering around and occasionally looking at you like any normal animals
- Gates that let you travel between lands (2 above your house and 1 hidden away in your land)
- Return nodes to bring you back home
- Selecting a color that will be used for your cruxite dowels, cruxite artifacts, gates and return nodes
- WIP battlefield dimension with three types of carapacians
What we want to do: - Make lands more fun to explore
- That also includes more dungeons and consort villages
- Multiblock machines
- Strife specibus
- More gates?
- Consort interaction
- Sprites and prototyping
- Title/classpect powers
- Prospit and derse
- Skaia and accessible battlefield
- Denizens
- Godtier (this is endgame stuff so don't ask for this to be added before we reach the endgame
- More, blocks, modus types, land aspects, buildings, consorts, underlings etc
- Improve the functionality of some stuff, such as the computer interface and editmode

As far as making lands more fun to explore, would making differing land biomes help with that? Instead of just having your normal and ocean, you have Land Plains, Land Extreme Hills, Land River, Land Ocean, Land Forest (if applicable) and others? I'm not too sure how biome selection for dimensions works, but since you've already got two biomes for each land type it should be possible to stick a few more into their respective groups. Plus those should have code you can gank from Vanilla with minor changes. Also consider adding caves to lands if at all possible to encourage underground exploration, even if ores don't spawn in yet.

I was already thinking of adding another biome in the next major update. (Which will basically be targeting "Making lands more fun to explore") And I'll think about adding caves then. There's already some ores spawned in depending on the terrain land aspect.

Good to see that this is still a thing! Regarding making lands more interesting to explore: seeing as there are several different combinations of land types that a player can have, perhaps specific pairs could yield different structures and items? A Land of Light and Sand, for example, could contain certain structures or items that cannot usually be found in either Lands of Light or Lands of Sand when they're paired with other aspects. Apologies if this is already a feature.
I was also wondering if there are any plans to implement denizens into the mod at some point in the future, since they're not on the to-do list.

yes, denizens.
they could easily be farmed using /summon, and if they keep dropping there massive grist hordes...
ENDLESS GRIST. (not that i'm complaining that would be great)

I'll do that now.

I'll do that now. Ah, all right, then. When I was typing that thing about structures, I did think to myself, "Exactly how feasible would this be in practice?" Since there are nineteen different land aspects, I believe that would mean that there are 171 different unique combinations that a player can have. Coming up with something unique for every single one of them would definitely be tricky.

Hi! I was the one on the previous forum who was working on the minestuck adventure map, and I was wondering if it was possible to add new grist types to the game? I'm really bad at coding so I couldn't figure it out, but if I could add some I would be very appreciative! I actually asked this on mspaforums but that was the day that mspaforums closed, RIP. If I can't that's also totally fine and I will continue to just work on the map as is. Thank you in advance!

Also, if you need people to make structures, I could make some for you guys. What type of file do you want them to be and what kinds of structures do you want?

Right now it's not possible to add new grist types without changing stuff in the minestuck code itself. Could you share what the adventure map is going to be about? What have you done so far?

The adventure map is a full-on game of Sburb. A four-player session that includes all canon aspects of the game, along with fanon parts to fill in unexplained parts of the game (such as the effects of most fraymotifs, new slchemy items, denizens for characters of other god tier classes, etc.) The four lands are (currently, unless they get changed later) Land of Mountains and Potassium Land of Death and Paraphernalia Land of Forests and Frogs Currently unknown Along with four god tiers (each allocated to the lands in order) Page of Hope Seer of Time Heir of Space Thief of Doom Currently, I am working on LOMAP and LODAP, along with alchemizable items, and I'm also working on the genesis frog. I've already added the black queen, over 100 items, and structures for generation on Derse and Prospit.

I was just reading through this, and I had an idea for Derse and Prospit. I don't know how the coding would work, but could you make sleeping in a bed the teleport mechanism? Also it would be a good idea to give the players a way to fly while dreaming/in god tier. Anyways, the mod looks good so far! Best of luck to you all

With adding more biomes, if you do add caves, may I suggest a "Cave" adjective, like from the actual comic? It could have an increased cave spawn rate.

This mod looks amazing! Unfortunately its my first time downloading a mod, can someone tell what to do after the mod is downloaded please? You need to download minecraft forge for the same version. When downloaded it should add a forge account to your minecraft. hit the windows button and search %appdata% Then open the minecraft folder and make a folder named mods. If there is already a mod folder, use that. Drag the Minestuck mod into the mods folder, then play under the forge account. Enjoy

Regarding a future update involving sprites, IF this were to happen, I have an idea for them involving prototyping. To prototype, you would need to bring a mob to it and make it have contact with the sprite (With exceptions). The Sprites purposes would be to help out with valuable information about Sburb. Perhaps, differing mobs would change aspects of the sprite once prototyping is performed.
-Cow: Using this mob provides a basic, but headstrong personality. once becoming aggro'd onto something, it will be unable to talk and will go insane to get it killed. Information given will be in a prideful tone with 'moos' here and there between wording. It's attacks are based on charging at them and thrashing about. Right clicking with a bucket provides milk. Enemies will who gain this prototyping will also use charge attacks and rages to try and defeat their enemy.
-Chickens: Another basic intelligence mob that will grow a frightened personality. It will not fight and instead will flee. Information it gives will be skewed, stuttery, and may contain 'bawks' between words. However, it is quiet quick and can be used as a distraction for enemies. It can be sheered for feathers. Enemies who gain this prototyping will recieve high jumps, but very slow falling which can result in a little trouble.. Imps, because of their hight and obtained chicken like personality, will instead flee from you in swarms. This doesn't effect any mobs higher than that though.
-Sheep: Basic intelligence, much like the animals before it, though it has a more mellowed personality. It won't attack unless provoked and has a normal way of combat. Information given is straight forwards, but not much at a time. Along with that, it has 'baaaas' here and there in text. It can be sheered for wool. Enemies affected by this prototyping well take less damage due to added wool over their bodies and some may not attack unless provoked.. SOME.
-Pigs: A gluttonous personality, only acting if the player is in danger OR if there are enemies AND Food nearby, it will do all it can to get it's feed. It will provide information, only on bribes of carrots. it has tough, but slow damage and slow rate of movement and information given may have 'oinks' here and there. Enemies will gain slight regeneration and eat fallen food items. Bigger enemies will also gain HP multipliers.
-Squid: Sprites prototyped with this animal will gain a derpy personality and will not respond or fight outside of water. If out of their terrain, they will flail until returned to it. They can be milked for buckets of ink which can be used as black dye or in crafting. Enemies will have the same effects, flailing about and dying on land, but being very effecient in water. However, if they die on land, they provide little to no drops.
-Mooshroom: Almost the EXACT personality and effects of a cow, but can also be sheered for mushrooms. Enemies will grow stronger in the dark, along with having the same abilities.
-Rabbits: Quick witted sprites that will provide information in confusing questions or snarky remarks. Enemies will have high jumping and quicker speeds.
-Wolf: This mob gains an obedient personality and guards the player visciously. However, information that could be given are based in riddles surrounding dogs and their aspects
-Cat: A lazy personality is obtained upon using a cat, needing to be bribed with fish or food before defending or giving riddles and information.
-Horse: A strong, fast, and bold personality of sprite that can do moderately high damage at slow rates WHILE being quick on it's feet. Intelligence wise, it is similar to the basic animals.
-Villagers: The first intelligent of the sprites. They are too frightened to properly fight, but will give proper information if asked and can be asked to do work. Imps and other underlings will build villages and small forts with large amounts of them gathered there.
-Bat: They possess a scared personality of the chicken, but is too frightened to give proper information, along with having it interrupted by fast squeaking. Probably the worst of the sprites along with being a difficult one to obtain. Enemies will gain wings and the ability to fly.
-Snow Golem: A weaker sprite is made by this with a soft body. However, they possess an interesting knack for creation. Lacking knowledge in other parts, they can provide alchemy help along. If provided snow, they will make other snow golems. Enemies will freeze water, obsidian, and you on contact.
-Witch: Intelligent, much like the villagers, but do not perform tasks other than harvesting brewing materials like netherwarts. They will fight for you however, flinging potions and debuffs at the enemy. Underlings will make small villages with a lich as their cult leader.
-Endermite/SilverFish: Both sprites are unable to give information, but are quick and seem to be able to make a group of minions that surround a single target one by one. The minions do low damage and take a single hit to be defeated. Enemies will lower in health and damage, increase in speed, and can hide away within blocks if small enough. hitting one will cause others to swarm Nearby to help.
-Zombies: Using a zombie will result in a dull witted sprite that guards with heavy hits. Information given is very bland and is cut into parts. It will kill salamanders and other inhabitants, turning them into minions to help defend. Enemies will do the exact same thing, along with having the chance to revive themselves and call in other underlings of their lower rank (other imps if an imp) to help in a fight.
-Skeletons: Another intelligent sprite. They are quick on their feet and able to use equipped weapons (that aren't prototyped into them.). Information given is in long, well made, riddles. Enemies are now skeletal, tend to use or spawn with weapons, and anything higher than ogres are replaced by liches.
-Creepers: Just above the basic intelligence, these sprites tend to try and stay from the view of the player. however, they can be talked to if cornered. They give information in shakey voices and long hisses. They fight by firing explosive damage that does not break terrain. Enemies however, have a chance to explode on death. The bigger the enemy, the bigger the boom.
-Spiders: Somewhat like a basic mob, they have lower intelligences. However, sprites are very quick, may apply poison, and can give specific knowledge on underlings. They sometime hiss with their information. Underlings are now able to poison and climb up walls to a maximum of 20 blocks before falling off and taking damage.
-Slimes: This breed of sprite has an excited personality, always on the move, running in circles constantly or dashing at enemies. They may stop to talk if their attention is gathered, but will quickly return to their hopping or running. Information given is basic. Enemies can now jump amazing heights and take no fall damage, along with splitting down into the next weakest underling on death.
-Enderman: The smartest NORMAL mob that can be used in a sprite. They provide very detailed information when requested. Along with this intelligence, they have the ability to teleport enemies long distances away on contact. Enemies also gain the ability to teleport and pick up blocks.
-Guardian: With the intelligence of an enderman, but the actions of a squid, this sprite will flail till it reaches water.. but once there, it can provide a well of knowledge, along with using it's beam ability like a turret to take down incoming enemies. Giclops enemies also gain this ability. Basilisks cause haste.
-Zombie pigmen: Sprites made of these, give near to no information, grunting, oinking, and squealing when asked anything. However, giving them certain blocks will cause them to build huts, in which it will lead salamanders and other inhabitants to live as 'friends'. In combat, it is vicious, being able to have a sword on or weapon given to it as well. Enemies will retain traits of the zombie sprite, create small villages, and will horde many more underlings upon one's death.
-Magma Slimes: The EXACT abilities and personality of the slimes, but enemies and the sprite will cause fire on hit.
-Wither Skeletons: Another intelligent mob, this one seems to be quiet straight forward with it's information given, though it doesn't talk much. It can be equipped with weapons and will cause withering on hit.. Enemies will not only use weapons and have liches above Ogre level underlings, but they will also make fortresses where many imps, ogres, and liches reside.
-Blazes: The sprite prototyped with this mob will become devious and grow a stern personality, giving it's information with harsh words along with it. In combat, it will fire flaming balls towards it's enemy without halting if the player happens to get in the way. Enemies also gain the ability to cast fire and hover slightly, along with resisting it.
-Ghasts: Sprites made with these grow immensely insize, having the ability to throw large balls of fire at enemies along with instilling a sense of fear towards imp ranked underlings. The intelligence of the ghast is moderate, but they have a shy personality and will give information slowly. Enemies prototyped with the ghast are HUGE compared to their normal versions with massive health and damge increases.
-Iron Golem: One of the most powerful sprites, this one seems to come with little downsides. The iron golem sprite possesses massive knockback and massive damage, at a cost of a slow rate. Their intelligence dwindles somewhat, but is still good enough to provide knowledge. They have a knack for the inhabitants of the world however. If flowers are near, they will approach inhabitants with it and if they accept, they have the ability to trade grists, items, or boonbucks for items from the world. Enemies also gain a size buff, strength, defense, and health buff, and learn to make some inhabitants hostile towards the player.
-Wither: Unlike the normal way to prototype a sprite, the way to make this one is by tossing a netherstar against the sprite. This results in a very hostile sprite. Shooting witherskulls that can not destroy terrain down on any living thing, other than the player, it will do all it can to remove hostile and non-hostile life. Keep animals hidden. Information given by the wither sprite will be somewhat skewed and may end up being wrong due to the wither's evil personality. Enemies gain the effects of the wither skeleton, but basiliks and giclops may randomly fire wither skulls.
-Ender Dragon: Much like the Wither, you must through the ender dragon egg into the sprite to create this. This results in a weaker sprite.. However, every 10 cooked meat fed to the sprite will cause it to grow in power and intelligence, and on it's 10 growth, it will be the strongest and smartest of any sprites. With the ability to blow fire like a dragon, cause massive melee damage, and provide incredibly detailed information, it is probably the best of all sprites. However, the more damage it takes will not kill it, but intstead shrink it's size, causing the need for more food. Enemies above ogre will gain the dragon's breath ability while Imps and Basilisks will gain the ability to fly.

On a side note, I've taken notice of the Skaia portal. How would one reach/obtain it in a survival world? IF that is even possible.
