i dont understand how different genders came about. i can understand that you more mentally identify as male or female, but i do not understand how there are like 50 different genders. there must have been some shenanigans played by some jokers that was taken seriously by some SJWs or something.
also why are people so stubborn on the definition of gender? like how someone knows what sex you were when you were born (for examples sake lets say "boy") and then when you use a male pronoun to refer to them the "boy" is like NO MOM USE XE/XIM/XIS TO REFER TO ME!!!!
from my VERY LIMITED PERSPECTIVE it seems like the LGBT community is being stubborn/willfully ignorant to acknowledge the difference between a persons sex(the "hard gender", defined by whats in your pants) and how they mentally identify("soft gender"). i can only assume this is due to how important it is in this community to "come out of the closet" and to reflect what you feel is true about you in your mind to the outside world?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "non-standard" genders are not a new thing. I don't want to start a huge argument again, but please do a google search or two before you start blaming everything on those damn SJWs. And for what it's worth, modern "hard" scientists are also basically in agreement that biological gender differences, in the brain at least, are pretty much nonexistent. Sociologists and other "soft" scientists are in even more consensus that third genders are, in actuality, A Thing.

Ok lets not argue about it. this is a thread for fessing up about stuff, not arguing.
would not have guessed gender theory took off in the 70's (i would have put around the 90's or 2000's) or that some cultures actually developed around multiple gender roles. the scenarios described in the wiki reminds me a little of John not getting trollmance.

I'm still not entirely sure what Gender even is. There's the Trans* people who, to put it simply and perhaps a little crudely, want to have different anatomy than that which they were born with, that's a fairly straightforward thing. But what about all those other Genders that have no associated anatomy? As inspiredsimji said, there's apparently no psychological component to Gender either. So for those Genders that have nothing to do with what you physically are, and nothing to do what you behaviorally do, then what does it actually mean to be that Gender, besides the label and pronouns?

I make an absurd amount of references to everything I'm a fan of, regardless of whether the people around me understand them or not. Homestuck is only a small admittedly large portion of those references. >_>

apparently this thread is dead. "Hasn't updated in a week" does not qualify as "dead." Anyway, on to a confession: I created a trollfic inspired by My Immortal and other imfamous "bad fanfictions" and posted it on fanfiction.net.

A Detective Investigation series set in a pure fantasy world like the Elder Scrolls or LOTR. Link is in my signature, "Mystryal," if you want to read the prologue and first chapter, i plan on updating every Wednesday.

I did a whole 120-page handmade manga about two classmates i've been shipping. I regret nothing. On that note, my classmate once tried paying me about fifteen bucks for me to write a thirty page fanfic about him and another guy in class. I ended up not doing it. And now that very same guy is tormenting me on these forums, and I've almost been banned because Sharkalien thought we were the same guy.

It was crappy enough to make the gay porn in Problem Sleuth look salacious but I got my end of the deal.

Me and my cousins once trashed a hotel room and broke the chandelier by accident. The guys working there were stupid enough to not see the chandelier being hung by a literal string off of the ceiling. Now that I think about it, the chandelier might've killed us any second, since it hung right above the bed. Meh.

I find it disconcerting that so many people, myself included, feel bad about sharing their own internal emotions to other people either in person or in an online venue such as this.
