what is it with the homestuck fandom that attracts lgbt people I swear, I didn't go into Homestuck knowing I was bi and wanting to follow the tumblr hivemind. I discovered all that afterwards. And I still don't follow the tumblr hivemind.

Haven't we always been more interested in the trolls? people have a habit of being interested in alien races. because it's cool and new and interesting. i personally would hate the troll race, but it allows for fun stuff with quirks and hemospectrum memes so i don't right now Yeah, compared to the kids' more one-dimensional personalities in Acts 1-4, it was a breath of fresh air to see a cast of new and interesting characters. I don't think I'm the only one here who found them much more likeable and relatable from the start. But let's not derail the topic here... lol

90% of the people I know who are in some way queer and who I met through the medium of Homestuck did not think that they were prior to us forming into a group and then some years later suddenly discovering that almost none of us were actually straight and/or cis We clump together even before we know it

Yeah, 9/10 of the people I meet are queer in some way. I have a lot of friends who are bi.

Asexual panromantic, though I guess bi works for this poll...? I used to consider myself asexual because I thought it was the word for aromantic. I suppose I still am aromantic because I just don't really want to involve myself in anything romantic.

I'm asexual, something I only realised last year thanks to seeing it talked about on a certain website, which would have saved me a LOT of trouble if I knew sooner. I still like boys, but only romantically, maybe not even that anymore after what happened when I had a boyfriend. What I'm trying to say is, I find some boys attractive, but not in a sexual way. It's like when you look at a piece of clothing that you think looks great but you'd never wear it yourself. me too.

I gave up on romance long ago. I am way too lazy to commit myself to a relationship. I'd rather just sit on my ass all day, reading shitty webcomics.

I'm straight. Though I have a lot of friends who are bisexual and homosexual (one of them got me into Homestuck). I never knew there was a lot of non-straight people in both Homestuck and Undertale, likely because people's sexualities don't bother me that much so I don't ask about it.

Same here! One of my friends is bisexual. Thinking about it, I never had a lot of friends who were of different sexualities. All of mine were straight.
I suppose Homestuck attracts a lot of bi/homo people because it's a webcomic that attracts teenagers/young adults, which tend to have wobbly shaky sexualities.

You know what's funny? You see hetero people everywhere, but on the internet it's like everyone suddenly becomes bi or pan or something. I'm not judging, of course. You're entitled to like anything you like (or nothing at all!), but I just thought it's kind of interesting.

Not trying to be funny here but it's because you can't necessarily tell who is straight just by looking at them and if you advertise the fact that you're not straight in real life you might die.

I mean... it's not pleasant to talk about, it's just that's why people often seem surprised to learn how many people who pretend to be straight in real life reveal that they are not when they are not in any danger for doing so.

And I kind of agree with Jacquerel here. There's not a lot of people who are openly bisexual or homosexual in real life. In fact, I didn't know any of my non-straight friends weren't straight until after a month we were friends.

It's the reason for the situation you were noticing dude, I'm sorry that the reason you see more people who you assume are straight in public than people you assume aren't is for unpleasant reasons, rather than just because we're all hanging out in our secret gays only 24/7 party zone, but that's just how it is. It would be to my benefit for it to be otherwise, trust me.

I'm a lesbian. I think Homestuck just attracts so many LGBT people because there are a lot of characters in the comic that could be considered gay/bi. Also because it's pretty popular on places like Tumblr where there are naturally a lot of teens. Pretty obvious...
But you know, now that I think of it, it always seemed to me like Homestuck attracted like... the straight yaoi fangirl types who just shipped the guy characters with each other more than anything, though.

That's because gay fangirls tend to be very common against teenagers. I am not quite sure what it is about girls that makes them attracted to man-on-man action. I guess it's just a thing that happens, like teenager boys liking dark and edgy things.
