Hi, everyone! So I recently got a new laptop and I don't like Internet Explorer as my web browser (I personally prefer Google Chrome.) I went to go download Chrome, but I accidentally downloaded it from the wrong site, bascially adding spam to my new computer. I don't know if anyone knows the best thing to do when it comes to this sort of thing, but I can't remove or uninstall the software from my computer. It keeps saying I need "administrator permission" when I am the administrator for the computer. Any and all help would be appreciated.

If this is a new computer without any personal data on it, i would recommend just reinstalling windows and starting over, and then using Ninite to install everything you want. It depends on your version of windows, but you can usually find that option under "update and recovery" or "backup and recovery" to reset your install to an initial state. If you computer came with a recovery disk, try to insert that and boot up from there.

First off, all administration, app deletion, and viruses are in some way operating system specific.
So your OS and basic system specs would help greatly (Specs so we know how long installing shit takes.)
You could try Windows Defender, though these days you can find effective online-ish anti virus scans.
Since downloads might be problematic, you might want to create an anti-virus boot disk or flash drive.

How are you trying to uninstall it? An uninstall file? Through "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel? Directly deleting the files?
Also, what message do you get saying you need administrator permission? Does it offer any options besides OK?
