I added the mspaofficial Snapchat, but haven't gotten anything from them. I think I'll be notified if they send anything out, and I'll post if they do. I'm not that excited, since whatever exclusive material might be posted there will be hard to preserve, due to the very nature of Snapchat. My phone can take screenshots, so we'll be okay |

Why did you think Pounce was named after Juan Ponce de León? I'd never thought about it. Maybe the double pun with (Leo)n? And fitting in with Leijon's sort of french sounding surname? Also, I'm uncultured swine and wouldn've have made that connection anyway. I still can't believe I don't remember that line. I mean big swaths of the comic were a blur to me during my initial reread but still this is something extreme. Also, the snapchat thing. Guess that's the "post-canon content" he mentioned? It's certainly an interesting move. I didn't know a thing about snapchat. Now I guess I have one though. |

To be fair, I feel confident that any snaps that the MSPA official account sends out are immediately going to be screenshotted and shared all over the forums/reddit/tumblr/etc, so it's unlikely anyone active in the fandom will miss anything important. But as someone who has never really gotten into Snapchat either, I'm kind of surprised I'm seeing so many people have such a visceral reaction against it. It's just yet another app on your phone to never use, the permissions are no worse than any other social media app, and it'll notify you if you get sent something so it's not like you have to check it constantly. And the filters/faceswapping can be fun to play around with  I am really curious how it's going to be used, though. Homestuck characters snapping each other? Some kind of meta way of seeing Xefros and Dammek keeping in contact over the course of Hiveswap? WP Merch ads? Fan-created content? I guess we'll just have to see... |

Oh maaaaaaaan! I honestly wasn't really expecting to have something this directly plot-related so soon, and I'm surprised the people jokingly saying "the epilogue will be released in the form of snaps" were actually right. In action, though, it's cute and works  There's nothing CRUCIAL for people to see if they happen to not have snapchat, but there are still some cute wholesome wordbuilding glimpses into post-Homestuck stuff. AND it answers some questions people had about stuff like whether the kids stay God Tier after entering the new universe. But now I'm REALLY curious to see what happens on 10/25. Is this building towards something, or...? |
