Has anyone else been feeling that this place has almost died. Like, aside from ACANW (and even thats died down too), I feel like most other places are dreadfully slow to get responces.
What do you think we can do to get people back?
EDIT: The christmas season probably isnt the smartest time to do that though, thinking about it

I'm lucky to get one comment per two updates, and I only got one response after I released a big flash. There are definitely less people here.

I think the best example is the base threads like here and the suggestion thread that used to get atleast 1 or 2 daily, that now gets a couple a week.

Unless a lot of adventure runners simultaneously start churning out updates like never before, keeping a steady influx of readers seems like a thing of the past.
I think the BIGGEST reason why the party is dying down is because most, if not ALL, people here are preoccupied with school and/or work. The forums opened its doors back in April, when the school year was almost to a close, and the faint sweet summer air brought promises of leisure and Pokémon GO. Next thing you know, it's SUMMER VACATION! Who gives a rat's ass about sizzlin' at the beach, I'm staying in and drawing my OC's enjoying their own summer break.
I'm pretty sure it's why o and others were able to update so frequently then but not now. Same goes for their readers. They're all trapped in one building for 9 hours, then stuck in another for 7 hours. A certain percentage of them eventually forget about this place, grow bored, or have their hands tied for an indefinite amount of time.
Will things change with the upcoming winter break? Who knows. Maybe some people want to (or have to) spend their holidays with family or friends. Maybe they're raring to get back on track. One thing's for sure: this year sucked ass and 2017 better be significantly better

Yeah, I got off school early, and have been able to update more frequently personally due to running the current section as a 'i'll use commands if they come in before the update' type thing, instead of the normal 'commands are necessary' type thing, so I probably have biased eye's towards whether or not the amount of people here is weird. On that note, since I don't know where else to put it for now, and I made it for some reason, Happy (No Spoilers) Holidays everyone!

Yeah, it's probably school, a lot of other places have been pretty desolate recently.

I for one have just been lurking a lot more because I don't have a ton to add to the ongoing conversations.

Here's a funny story that'll warm your heart: to find the exact font used for the captchalogue cards, I had to literally go through each standard font until I found the right one. When I eventually did, it was a hallelujah moment for me, like I was ready to die right then and there.
For those of you who are curious, it was the Lucida Console Semi-Condensed font at size 10

Not fun at all.

Does this forum really not have a posted thread for discussing fan trolls? If it does, I've spent way too long looking for it and I should feel bad. It really doesn't. I don't think there's enough interest to warrant one

The MSPA fandom is something of a shadow of what it used to be. Maybe a lot of people will get back into making fantrolls when the first ep of Hiveswap comes out, who knows?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but can anyone help me out? I'm looking for a fan adventure I used to follow on mspa forums. I don't remember what it was called, but the characters were trapped in a maze being chased by creepy dudes in masks who smeared black oil or paint over the walls and floors in angry messages to some butthead dude in a gold mask who was the overseer.
Hope I'm remembering this right. The last thing I remember was one of the victims being fitted with a water-torture device, and one was blind, a child, and could see sound as colored waves in her mind. Oh and the first character introduced had an eidetic memory.

I'm fairly certain what you're looking for is The Human Game. Though I don't know if it's still too active.

I've got a quick question? Is the art style change between the second to last update and the last update of Paper Snow (http://omegaupdate.freeforums.net/thread/678/paper-snow-5-updates) especially noticeable? I took a break for a bit because of school, and I'm wondering if it's just me or if there was definitely a change. Thanks!!

I don't mind authors experimenting with their style, and in fact expect them to get better at it over time. (That's the main reason I don't like SBURBventures, they're too static)

Yeah, it seems a little different due to the increasingly thicker lines and cartoony style in the last couple panels

I think I'd like to try to bring ThreadStuck back soon, but I'm not sure about either interest levels or how to do it. Should I start fresh or keep going from where I left off?

Do you guys have any panels that you ended up scrapping for some reason? For me, I have these 3 panels: I tried to make some sort of joke with these, but it wasn't really funny, so I just threw it away.

I say pick up where you left off. People like an established story. A concluded story? Even better. Best thing to do for your readers is to write an ending you like/hope they'll like, then start the adventure anew. Do you guys have any panels that you ended up scrapping for some reason? Hi there. I am relatively new to the forum and the whole HS shebang, but I have had this one idea for a fanventure-like story in my head for a while now. I've got a pretty good feel for what it's going to be, but the details of plot and continuity are still WIP. Now the issue for me is that my art skills (drawing and sketching, to be exact) are subpar, especially on a computer, even with drawing tablet. (The horrible thing is: I just can't draw, when I have an image base I can edit the crap out of it.) I've had the idea to simply make it more of a text-based "fanventure/fanstory" but I dread that it might not be enough to keep people interested along all the other great visual art. It's just that the time which I would spend on making really shitty panels could be much better spent on developing the story.
My question is, would YOU read an entirely text-based story, if detailed enough? Maybe with some "concept art" at pivotal points? I planned on making some voiceover readings for it as well, to make it a little more multimedia and engaging.
Do you have any thoughts?

Dont worry about not looking good I think. It doesnt really mater that much, and your not going to get better unless you keep doing it.
My only other suggestion would be to try and keep the art simplistic. very basic shapes and minimalist designs
