I do not think so. I am pretty sure we got it from Dante first. Oh, uh ... which video was made private? I was thinking you were talking abut the Dante video. No, we got it from his Twitter, I think.

I wonder if that means that whatever thing they were planning on getting going fell through? Was there a bad break with Dante or whoever that other guy was? Dammit, I wish they'd be more transparent with this stuff. I mean, I get it, NDA's and not wanting to build false hopes, but surely a "this is still happening" or "we're working on it" wouldn't be terribly much to ask? Getting some semblance of What Pumpkin's future plans shouldn't be like trying to solve an ARG.

I'd be happy if it were an ARG and not just negligence. Even planned negligence.

That other guy in that video, the guy named John in the wheelchair I think, quit What Pumpkin but said the company is in good hands. Still, there's just so much weird silence going on.

They were being weirdly silent about Hiveswap. Now the first Act is coming out in January. (Also, they put up an announcement for that, then took it down right away, before actually announcing it a few days later). Hussie deleted his mention of the Epilogue. Now he has confirmed it as something that is happening in a more solid way than he originally did. Being weirdly silent does not really mean anything.

Personally, I'm just going to wait and see. Hussie seems to have his hands full if we're going by his last news post.

I think Hussie is trying to balance surprising us while keeping our attention until the surprises come, and that's not easy for professionals to do, let alone guys who've never had to do this before. I mean, the snap chat thing was a huge jolt and it wouldn't have driven anybody as crazy as it has if we knew it was coming.
I've suspected it for a while but now I'm just about sure: Hussie's had a plan to have a bunch of different things (the end of Homestuck, the games, whatever comes next like these snap chats and the eventual epilogue) all sort of happen together or one after the other and be tied together to various degrees. This is why neither the game or the comic could be finished without the other. In the mean time, he can't exactly tell us that's what he's doing, as the surprise is meant to be a big part of the wow factor, but that leaves him in the weird position of asking us to hold on and keep waiting without news.

I think you might be right, but I feel like maybe everything got delayed a bunch or something, and it all got more stretched out than it was supposed to be.

ok, maybe i'm missing something but wasn't homestuck 2.0 a kind of interactive version of homestuck? like, you could actually play the part where John had to get his arms and stuff like you were actually playing Sburb

oh, ok. then i'm just being dumb again. thanks for the clarification. Hey, it is fine. And who knows? Maybe something like that will happen. That would be cool, to have some new games that take you through parts of the adventure or something.

And man, what if John had stayed ten? All the characters being three years younger would have probably changed the comic a lot.

All the characters being three years younger would have probably changed the comic a lot. Especially the swearing. Hearing ten year olds swear would be an influx of unnecessary cringe. EDIT - And people would feel much more guilty for shipping 'em.

Hell, assuming nothing else changed, they would still be kids by the end of the credits. Also, Beta was too time consumptive to make, and probably would have died off like Bard Quest.

For me, one of the worst things were the sound effects. Oh god. The sound effects. 'Nam flashbacks...

Hey, I thought the beta was pretty good and a cool concept.
I also thought 3D Hiveswap looked good as well, so what do I know
